after visiting eldorado diner last night I highly recommend not coming here ever!!! I have been previously a loyal customer for years and I will not be returning. I came at 9pm and our waitress was extremely rude, aggressive and kept rushing us. I have dietary restrictions against meat and she kept messing up the order and when asking to change it she was extremely rude and blame me saying I never asked for it without meat. There was no reason for us to be rushed an hour before closing. She also took off her mask multiple times while preparing food and even gave us napkins right off another table that people at just got up from. Still our go to diner even though we moved a bit further away . Can't go wrong with breakfast or burgers or a good club sandwich . All the good diner staples . I went Christmas Day I received pancakes eggs bacon and sausage. I cut my pancakes up and ate a few I went for another bite and I saw a black strand of straight hair baked into my cupcakes. I ordered stuffed mushrooms and the top was rotten tasting. We asked the waiter to cancel this order because we have not eaten it. He gave us a lot of attitudes but we ignored it thinking he was tired. I also got pineapple juice and it tasted like it was straight from a can-didn't complain about that either though. I ordered a panini for my meal. It tasted decent. It was the best thing they gave I had eaten there so far. Either your like diners or you don't. I for one like diners and at times love them. The thing with diners is you can never judge the book by its cover. Some of the diviest of dives can be the most hidden of treasures. While others with that classic diner look, have classically tragic, bland generic food... one rule of thumb is if it's always packed, there there for a reading and it's not the ambiance. The Eldorado is a diner I have been to several times traveling on business. I keep going back because I know what to expect, a good meal. Now there may be other restaurants in the area where I might get a great meal??? But when i'm in the area I guess I don't feel like gambling... I'm kinda partial to the crabmeat stuffed fillet of Sole or the crabmeat stuffed shrimp. I may just go there again tomorrow night for dinner because of the consistency of food and service. The battle between Eldorado East and Eldorado West forges on as the sibling diners compete for business. But this is clearly the ugly sibling of the two (though I have yet to try Eldorado III in Scarsdale.) This Eldorado has a cheaper environment and lesser quality food than it's handsome Tarrytown brother, but isn't too shabby if you're not comparing the two. This diner has shockingly incredible ravioli. Like. Seriously legit ravioli for a diner. Their caesar salads always come out on top and the caesar/ravioli combo is always my go-to. My family loves the BLTs and tuna fish sandwiches as well, always a mainstay in their diets. The burgers here are also quite legit, so overall we're staring down the barrel of a 4 star review. The parking situation is great, a huge lot for the size of this place. They could have built two Eldorados on that lot. If you are choosing between diners, stick with Eldorado West. But if you are going for convenience, this is a great option. read more

We sat under a huge National Geographic map of Greece, oriented around the march of Alexander through Persia. With that in mind, we conquered this diner and left it wondering what the heck happened. I had a Mexican omelet, which is about as Mexican as Taco Bell but they put chili and jalapeos in it, so Viva Mexico. The toast was barely buttered, but the home fries were done properly, meaning toasted and greasy. I never saw the bottom of my coffee mug, also a plus. The Wife has banana pancakes with walnuts, always a downer for me because I'm always looking for a banana piece and end up getting a walnut instead. People who think these tastes are a good complement need to get out more. So, service was good, food was all right, prices were fair, and overall relatively clean for a 24 hour diner. Very busy place! They have a spacious parking lot to accommodate even a touring bus! Too bad their food is below mediocre. I am giving them 2 stars because the people running the place work hard and they seem pretty nice. Every breakfast item we ate was prefrozen and then reheated in either an oven of some sort, or the microwave. For example, their waffles reminded me of something made by Eggos. Also, their hash browns were mashed, smashed, and shoved into a bowl too small for the amount they were giving me. The flavor was hideous and tasted like they cooked it inside a burrito. Maybe that's something you would like, but not me. I like my hash browns traditional with a crispiness to them. Given our unfortunate experience, there weren't too many places we could find near our hotel that served breakfast for a decent price. I'm surprised by the negative reviews, albeit I've only been here once. We were here on a Saturday afternoon to grab a quick bite to eat and it was half full. We were seated promptly and service was great. The hostess was nice, and our waiter checked on us and refilled out water every so often. We had the appetizer sampler which was better than expected, especially the chicken tenders. They were moist and juicy and came with a delicious honey mustard sauce. I had the Florentine omelet which could have used a little more seasoning. My boyfriend had the steak over rice which was absolutely delicious. The butternut squash soup that it came with was also one of the best soup of the kind I've ever had. Maybe I've been to to many terrible diners in the city, but I feel my experience there was wonderful and I'd probably go back if I'm ever back in the area. read more

Really great service, cramped seating, food is meh. This place is attractive at a glance, especially from the outside with its nostalgic chrome-n-curves design, sprawling parking lot (which was full), and equally sprawling 8 page menu, with enough to over-tantalize a hungry imagination. I went in with a party of 8 and despite the place being jam packed on a Sunday morning, we were seated immediately. The tables, however, were too close together, and this made for more than a few irritating interactions with the people eating around us, needing to move between tables which was nearly impossible. The food, (most of us ordering breakfast plates) was big portioned but dull on flavor on all counts. The ham was even a little funky tasting. The eggs not bad but lacking in that fresh egg feeling. The hashbrowns pale and seasonless, the toast a little too overdone. Everything needed to be drowned in ketchup, which I don't really like. meh. I can't imagine any of the hundred other options being tastier if you can't make a tasty breakfast. I must say that, meh food aside, we had excellent service. Fast plates, fast coffee refills, fast to return with the bill and change. The servers are hustling and keeping everything in motion. Maybe it has something to do with coming here late (10PM) on a Friday night with a party of twenty five pimple littered characters. Why am I being a non conformist and giving this dainty looking diner a four star commendation? Because they have great pancakes. And they can handle twenty five of us. Horrible food at a pretty pricey cost. The worst thing wasn't the food however, but the rude service and management. We came in to a waiter who continuously made sarcastic comments, almost like he was hiding contempt for us and on the defensive the entire time for no reason at all. I thought this was ironic because he kept doing things like dropping our fries and messing up which dish goes where. We were extremely nice to him considering his attitude because we figured he was tired. Later on, we told him that the topping on the stuffed mushrooms tasted very sour, and that we were not able to eat it. We mostly ate the mushrooms underneath. He said okay and continued, and we saw that when we got the bill they still had it on so we decided to ask the manager if the waiter had spoke to him about it. We were very angry at the lack of professionalism at this point- we paid for the bill anyways but will NEVERRR be back at this establishment. Good for a quick bite but not a sit down meal. Eldorado is a nice place to stop for a quick meal before hitting the road or a late night snack with friends. It's not fine dining however it is great for what it is, a casual diner. I frequent this place ordering their dinner and lunch specials. (I am here late nights coming off the train as well.) They serve nice, share-able portions and offer free soda and coffee refills. The menu is very large offering various dishes suitable for families or large groups of people. The service is friendly and I've never had an issue. Sometimes the place can get busy so I can understand other customers' frustration with the slow service but after 6 PM is never an issue. We tried a lot of different food and the steak wasn't up to par at all - no seasoning whatsoever. Added salt and we got through. The fried chicken was decent. We were moving from FL so looking for good places to go. We thought that we shouldn't pay for spoked food so we asked the manager to remove the mushrooms from the bill but simply he refused to. Very bad business move because I may have given this place a second chance but not now. If you want lackluster food, rude waiters, and unprofessional management / this is your place. When I was a young chap that was growing up nearby, I would frequent here from time to time. I can't recall much because, often times, it was due to those post-bar, drunken hungers where one does not care where they go or what they serve there. I have visited here twice since being around again... and sober to boot. Maybe my body isn't used to the food anymore? Maybe they cook with Olestra now?Maybe it was because these past instances I wasn't filled with gins and varying shots of who knows what? I'm not sure, but both times after eating there, it was not pretty how my body reacted. First time consisted of me waking up at 5 in the morning and wondering which end it was going to come back out from next and eventually leaving me rolled in a ball of the bathroom floor, like the shower scene from the crying game (but since I'm no adonis, it was probably more like the parody of that scene from Ace Ventura). Second time, I was pretty sure I lost a pound or two from my body's reactions. Where was I going with this? Oh, right. food isn't too shabby. Well, not anything to write on here about in praise of. I always feel like the owners are staring at everyone with a judging eye, cause clearly, anyone who owns a late night diner is one to pass judgement. Also, it seems it is still the go-to joint for the local drunken hooligans and trash late at night. Was I part of that crowd in the past? Maybe. Once or twice I probably got a little out of line and was a little TOO loud compared to everyone else, but the kids that go here these days are either pant-shitting drunk or coked out trash airing their scumbaggery for all to hear. Sept 2018 - Service, and Breakfast at 7pm was just perfect. We ordered Eggs over easy with Rye Toast and an English Muffin with French Fries, plus the coffee was fresh, however the Chocolate Egg Cream drink that my friend ordered was tasteless, I would skip that next time. So I've been coming to this diner for years now. I used to get the chicken quesadilla and chicken fingers religiously. The icing on the cake was the honey mustard sauce. Anyways I had to stop coming here because of the inconsistency. I would come often to the restuarant with my buddy and we got to the point where we would have to ask the waiter for a honey mustard sample before hand to make sure it was the right kind. How can you be that inconsistent with your honey mustard? Funny thing was I had another friend who liked coming there for a different dish and was also having the same issue.
