After visiting the Lyndhurst Mansion on Friday evening, my family and friend decided to visit for dinner since our friend had been here before. Coming from NJ, which is the diner capital of the world, it resembled all the rest. Our table ordered tuna on rye with sweet potato fries, vegetable egg white omelet with potatoes, turkey club with sweet potato fries, and an avocado omelet. Portions were very generous. Sweet potato fries were bland with no seasoning. The potatoes that came with the omelets were bland as well. My turkey club was stacked and tasty. The tuna on rye was a success but the sides were below average. Service was very good. Prices might have been a tad high but acceptable. Bathrooms were clean. Plenty of parking in their private lot. It's located off the highway and across the street from a couple of chain hotels. read more

I ordered a mac and cheese from this diner and it did taste quite well. However, as i was eating the mac and cheese i noticed a fly inside of it. I decided to give the diner a call and the employee on the phone was very rude and tried to blame it on doordash. However, it could not have been doordash's fault because the fly was inside of the tin in the mac and cheese and was burried deep in there. Once I requested a refund the man started speaking nonsense to me. I am truly disgusted with this restaurant and will never be returning here or ordering from here again. read more

Went there with family for dinner recently. Was fairly empty at the time but filled up more by the time we left. The waiter was very nice and our food came out fairly quickly. Everything was fine. A good diner. Consistent for over 20 years. I was going here weekly for a good 3-4 years in the mid 90's and the food and service was always great. It was my favorite diner and it was always reliable. I don't live in the area and due to work and whatnot, I wasn't able to come back until just a few days ago. And over 20 years later and the food and service are still great. The one notable thing that changed since the mid 90's was the decor, which is fine. It looks better than what I remembered it looked like. The parking lot does need some work though. I ordered breakfast and the meal came out timely and was tasty. It was the "El Dorado Special" and consisted of eggs, bacon, sausage, home-fries, ham, and toast - basically a "lumberjack" without the pancakes. A diner is a diner and most diners are the same - some are good and most are average or below average. This diner is one of the good ones (in my opinion) and will always be one of my favorites. If in the area again and wanting to come to a diner, I will surely return here. read more

I love diners. This one was weird. I ordered a Greek salad with chicken. It came with soup, so I opted for matzoh ball. It was super super bland. I never add salt to ANYTHING but I definitely needed to add some salt to this. The salad was served with some sort of reddish dressing. It looked like tomato sauce. I never saw a Greek salad with dressing like that. There was a huge party of people in a large part of the restaurant - some dance troupe that took up 7-8 tables. They were so incredibly loud that my family and I could not hear ourselves talk. I understand that this is not the diner's fault - HOWEVER - they sat us right in the middle of this room, surrounded by this dance troupe. Was there no other place on the other side of the diner to seat us? Or maybe they could've told us that we might want to wait until a better table cleared up. Food was just eh. Bland. read more

The water tasted nice, clean and refreshing. I ordered an omelette and they actually prepared if for me the way I like it. Didn't make a big deal of me substituting the Lettuce and Tomato for the French Fries ;-) I'm trying to shed some weight guys! :-) Service was excellent. IMHO a standard measure of a diner is how well it makes a classic Reuben sandwich. My bride and I ate there in July 2024 and we both ordered Reubens--they were the skimpiest and least flavorful ones we've ever had: there was about two ounces of corned beef, a few forkfuls of sauerkraut, and a single slice of Swiss cheese--for which they charge $16.75. Every kind of egg/omelet you could want, along with pancakes, french toast, corned beef hash, etc. There are also many different types of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas, and gourmet salads for lunch. I went for breakfast. Good size parking lot. I thought it would be crowded bc the parking lot was so full but when I went in I was seated right away! Nice size inside as well. Who doesn't love a good diner? Living out west, I jump on the chance for the obligatory NY diner experience. The place was nice and busy when we arrived and we were greeted warmly and seated right away. We ordered the meatloaf and gravy dinner and the Monte Cristo/ Onion Rings. My hubs enjoyed his meat loaf meal... mine was meh. The Monte Cristo was NOT a true MC and the onion rings were soggyish and stuck together. When you looking for a classic Diner, this is the place to go to. I was dining alone on a cold rainy day and they sat me in a good location away from everyone during COVID-19. I ordered a Bowl of chicken noodle soup which was homemade and fresh and delicious, it certainly hit the spot! And I ordered a chop salad with chicken, a real nice portion, fresh and the ingredients were perfectly combined. Excellent and quick service and very clean restaurant. Perfect for groups. Open 24/7. Great diner for breakfast. Went at 8am on a Friday and didn't have to wait, service was great too, friendly and quick. We had a party of 5 and our waiter did a great job getting us coffee ASAP and taking our orders. I really wanted to try the Huevos Rancheros but they were out of the tortillas. :( So I ordered the corned beef hash, eggs, home fries, and rye toast special. It was a lot of food and I couldn't finish it all. All of the specials get you a lot of food and include a drink so I would recommend going that route if you want the most food for your buck. From the minute I walked in from the beautiful hostess who seated me to the server that got me coffee and a juice, to the waiter who kept checking on me for any needs, I received first class service! I had breakfast here while I was in town visiting family. I noticed from the photos on Yelp that they served Migas, the Mexican scrambled egg dish that is made with peppers, jalapenos, tomato, crumbled corn tortillas and cheese. Since I didn't see it on the menu I asked the waiter if they still served it. After some checking, he said they did. Well this should have been a red flag to me. What I got was a bell pepper omelet served over tortilla chips, smothered in artificial nacho "cheese" sauce. A far cry from what it should be. To make matters worse when i went to scoop some salsa verde onto my eggs I found lo and behold a twist tie in the salsa! I laid it to the side to show the waiter, but I never saw him again. Just ordered 2 chicken gyros on seamless that clearly say "served with a Greek Salad" so when there was no Greek salad I called and they said they would check and call me back. Called me back and said I didn't order it so I text them the attached screenshot underlining what I was talking about. Instead of telling me that it wasn't supposed to say that and that a Greek salad would have been an upcharge, (even though there is no option to add one without also adding fries which I didn't want.) the person who a presume to be an owner or manager accused me of wanting free food and called me cheap!!!!! I would have paid extra to have them send the two salads but they handled it so horribly I was shocked. After all that the gyro was terrible and bland. We were staying at a nearby hotel and wanted breakfast. This is a classic diner. The breakfast portions were very generous and we even took some home. Service was good.
