Some people call Reno poor man's Las Vegas. Now I see why. Stayed at the El Dorado resort for a work function. The hotel is clean and the staff is nice. It's very out dated though. My room was decent size but felt like it hadn't been updated since Dean Martin played there. The casino floor was mostly slots and a small table area. It's a Cesar's property which connected to two other Cesar's properties; the Silver Lake and the Circus Circus. There are restaurants on-site and the food was pretty decent. Room service is available but the cost is steep as you would expect. For our small conference we got a room rate of $79 and parking for the whole week for $10 which was a deal. The property is in walking distance to the River Walk and popular restaurants. I'd like to see Reno again, but not sure this is where I would choose to stay.

Christmas on Ice was wonderful! If you're looking for an interactive, fun, family (or not) Christmas show, I highly recommend! Very talented singers, dancers and ice skaters to engage you into singing Christmas carols and wow you with amazing skating feats! The gorgeous red haired singer was incredible, especially her rendition of Hallelujah! The beautiful blonde ice skater and her partner were amazing! The show was just over an hour and very well done!

I mean it was a nice stay until this happened. We came out of town from Idaho, and on day 2 a lady went through and smashed out 10 cars windows out on level 2. Want to come back, but makes it hard when it feels like your car is not safe. Hotel stay is now 500-600 to replace back window and we are out of state.

My husband and I stayed in a corner suite at Eldorado. The suite is very spacious and has a full jacuzzi. The hotel has a nice old school charm. I recommend their restaurants Roxy and La Strada. The food and service are excellent. The hotel is located on the main strip of downtown RENO. Three hotels are connected known as "The ROW"... El Dorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus. The ROW is owned and operated by CAESARS Entertainment. Since I am disabled, I rely on my scooter to get around. I was pleasantly surprised that they FINALLY upgraded their elevator lift, located on the 2nd floor, by the water fountain and the SIlver Legacy entrance. It's so much faster and efficient. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I selected the "El Dorado Resort & Casino" because of its location. I was introducing Reno to people who had never visited before. I wanted to show them Reno's version of Las Vegas; the downtown; the River Walk and ballpark. The hotel was also close to the University and the attractions within mid-town. Reception checked us in efficiently. Staff was upbeat and helpful. I've attached photos of the room assigned to me. These were taken upon entry. I'm sure the hotel rooms see high guest turnover--but housekeeping is doing a good job. The room's decor is a bit dated, but the room was clean. The sheets were clean and in good condition; the mattresses were comfortable. The carpet did not have any noticeable spots or stains. The furniture might have had a few minor nicks but didn't have major bumps or bruises. The refrigerator was clean and didn't have any strange aromas. The towels were not plush, but they were clean and very serviceable. The TV operated well. The bathroom is where you will find the most wear and tear. While small signs of damage and repair were evident, I didn't find anything off-putting. If I did have a complaint, it would be that while taking a shower the water drained slowly. When I was done showering, I was standing in 2-inches of water. But this is a building engineering issue--not housekeeping. The "El Dorado Resort & Casino" originally opened in 1973. Since then, it's expanded and remodeled. Of the three casino properties that make up "The Row" (The El Dorado, The Silver Legacy and Circus Circus), the El Dorado has the reputation for being one of the better downtown properties. Now, this is where it gets tricky. I have stayed at a number of hotels in Reno. The El Dorado is very good. But while the El Dorado is amongst the best casino resort properties Reno has to offer, it is not on par with the best casino resort properties Las Vegas has to offer. I write this--not to be mean, but to manage expectations. Still, it was a good stay.

This was my 2nd visit to the annual festival. I was sorry/ sad to see that no improvements had been made! Whom ever is the organizer of this event Is falling extremely short here. Again with the ridiculous 2 1/2 hour wait line to get the pasta dish for the sauce contest... To get a beer we found it quicker to go back into the casino. I'm always so surprised about the major missed opportunity to make a ton of more money here. The shortage of drink booths, food booths were all untenable at least for me... I'm just not waiting in lines like this for ANYTHING!! At my age time is money! I don't think I will waste my precious time again next year and I'm so happy they didn't respond to my request to join the sauce contest, those gals looked miserable! I did get a amazing art piece to add to the outdoor collection by the pool.

I loved it here! The room was nice and clean with a large jacuzzi tub that overlooked the snow capped mountains the bed was very comfortable with a large hanging TV, a couch, 2 large chairs with a table and a big dresser. The room service was fast and hot, everything I at in this hotel was tasty. I will stay her again for sure

Great Super Bowl event with hot dogs, ribs, prime rib, nachos, veggies, etc... The tables were tastefully presented and the multi screen experience helped us all watch the game in unobstructed comfort. Bar service and table service was excellent. Almost like being at a game...Festive decorations and atmosphere!

Another big downtown Reno casino. Eldorado is one of the nicer ones around here. It has more to do than gambling but it's not quite that interesting enough to charge as much of a resort fee as they do for this. Has an on site brewery. They have some places to eat too. It has a pretty okay casino. Smell isn't as bad here as others can get. The casino is pretty clean and there's a good amount of games to play and dealers are usually friendly and fun too. Has an on site brewery. The food is forgettable unfortunately. Everything is overpriced. The sports book is okay but it also smells. As for the hotel it seems it's outdated according to what others have said about it. The rooms are small and they cost a lot. Charges a bullshit resort fee. It doesn't have enough to be called a resort. There's a brewery and food but not a whole lot of stuff.

We checked into our hotel by the nicest staff member, Heather. She gave us great advice on where to go for dinner, Brew Brothers, which was delicious! Heather advised us to walk to the River walk, which we did and stumbled upon an outdoor concert. The bad part was when we got to our room. It was SO HOT. We called maintenance and they came to our room and said it was blowing cold air. We left for dinner and our walk. Three hours later, we came back to a super hot room! I called downstairs and explained. Immediately, I was given another room. WOW! It was a GORGEOUS, spacious room with a beautiful view of the city! Even though we experienced something negative, they fixed it and made our stay SO ENJOYABLE! I will definitely return!

    Us waiting. Fantastic staff!

Wow, It has been awhile since we have been to the Eldorado. Probably since the Street Vibrations years ago. We arrived here with our son and his family tonight to go to the Ichiban Restaurant and walk around the Casino before dinner. The Eldorado was super clean, Great staff, bathrooms were so clean and very nice. We did not gamble a lot, as we were there for dinner and our Gkiddos were there, but it was great. I loved the fact that the cigarette smoke was minimal, my nose still plugged up, but it was not unbearable!! Nice Casino, so cannot wait to come back and gamble some money!! Thanks Eldorado for the best time. Ichiban Was Devine!!

El Dorado is another one of my favorite Reno resorts. Their restaurants (especially Roxy, Ichiban and La Strada) are some of my favorites. They have good shows here and Winter Wonderland really impressed. Great costumes, singing and dancing with so many familiar Christmas songs. Highly recommend!

Large walk-in shower. Typical low flow shower head but plenty of nice hot water.

My wife and I spent the evening here on our way south to the Central Coast area. Parking was easy in their self parking garage which also contains over a dozen Tesla Superchargers. From their garage, there is a walkway across the street that dumps you into the casino and conveniently the hotel registration desk. On a quiet Wednesday night, there was no line to check-in around 5pm. Our room was on the top floor of the shorter of their two towers with a view facing north. The room was well appointed with a fresh contemporary vibe. The king size bed was comfy for me but too soft for my wife's liking. On either side of the bed, there were power outlets and USB charging ports for all your electronics. Very handy. Next to the bed by the window was a leather chaise lounge which was handy for our suitcases. I suppose you could recline in it as well and watch the TV. The TV offered loads of on-demand movies, numerous international networks and the typical mix of cable channels. There was a single cup Keurig coffee maker that was adequate but they did provide liquid creamers as a bonus. The bathroom looked modern with a large edge lit mirror, large counter space and a walk-in shower. There were plenty of soft fluffy towels provided as well as all the necessary toiletries.

Anyone know when the buffet will reopen?

Went this past weekend, 16-18, and it was closed.

    Is the poker room open?

    Yes.

What are the typical table minimums in the casino?

$10. If your lucky u can find a $5 table

Is it closed or open 24 hours? The line under the heading (hours updated three months ago) says both. I'd submit an "edit business info," but I've ceased gaming for now.

Hello Friscoco, Eldorado Resort Casino is currently open 24 hours 7 days a week. Thanks!

What is the price for the dinner buffet?

No, not hear this Casino or the Silver Legacy, from looking out the window it's possible Circus Circus may have the space. The other two have parking garages (they are all interconnected by sky bridges).

Can I get carb- free or low- carb options at this restaurant?

This place is so cool and not cool at the same time…read more.. Here's the bad stuff... 1. Super construction going on and the parking lots are a mess, you don't know to go right or left and I got lost finding entrances even after 3 days.really dirty too. 2. The dirt doesn't stop there. Our first room we were given was so smokey I mean burning eyes smokey. There was a box fan sitting outside the room so I think they tried to air it out but it was like someone burned a cigar in there and just closed the door. 3. After going thru a room swap we were given another room. Fine but there was a dirty rag left in the bathroom counter with hairs all over it. Not a huge deal but still, come on right? 4. The late check out. Went to the front desk night before to make sure late check out was ok since we were at an event that morning. No problem they said you got until 4 with an additional fee. Great right? Nope since our room was a room that was attached to a suite they needed us out before that. Just come on again! 5. The service is just rude everywhere. I mean everyone you encounter! The Rim restaurant guy host in a suit..., I'm convinced was high as a kite. Don't believe me, go there and talk to him, holy! The security desk, rude and unhelpful. Anyone you call on the phone from the room, rude. I'm not expecting Disney customer service, but come on man! Someone teach these guys some customer service skills. So the good.... The resort is really cool. Bowling video games, nice casino, everything to spend a fun weekend. We may even come back just to do the pool and stuff to do there. To wrap it up... Lower your expectations. Your not going to get the cleanest room. Most certainly you will be treated rudely. It's a place that could be so epic but falls short due to just taking short cuts in the customer service, organization and just plain care about your whole experience factor. P.S. you will receive at least 5 text messages telling you about how great their spa is.

The room was okay--nothing special, but no major complaints. The Starbucks is always packed, which seems to be the norm here. Today, I visited the Second Street Marketplace downstairs. The young employee who assisted me had very poor customer service. He didn't acknowledge me, didn't offer a bag for the items I purchased, didn't say thank you, and seemed more interested in chatting with his coworkers than helping customers. Based on what I observed, I wasn't the only customer having issues with him. We also requested housekeeping service for our room. We were informed there would be a charge, which was fine with us. However, after the service, the room looked exactly the same. The bed was made, but that was about it. Now, let's talk about the restaurant downstairs. I ordered a steak, but they brought me chicken instead. I clearly told the waitress I wanted steak. When I pointed out the mistake, another older employee insisted that what I was served was steak. I'm pretty sure I know the difference between chicken and steak. Fortunately, Teddy stepped in, listened to my concern, apologized, and had my order corrected. That is what great customer service looks like. Even our waitress suggested that I just eat the chicken, but guests should never be told to accept something they didn't order. The casino and the room itself were good, and I enjoyed those aspects of my stay. However, many of the staff members could benefit from additional customer service training. To corporate, management, the CEO, owner, or whoever is responsible: please invest in better customer service training. Your guests deserve a better experience. #CustomerService #Management #Hospitality #GuestExperience

After nearly 10 months of planning, I expected the basics to be handled correctly. When we checked in, we were given a double room instead of the King room we reserved. I went back to the front desk and was told that because they were oversold for Thursday night, there was no way to move us into a King room at all during our stay. That explanation didn't make much sense--they confirmed they had King rooms available Tuesday and Wednesday, but because of the Thursday overbooking, they couldn't honor the reservation for any of the nights. So even though I booked months in advance and had already arrived, I was effectively bumped in favor of guests who hadn't even checked in yet. To make matters worse, only 2 out of 5 elevators were working the entire stay, which led to long waits (up to 20 minutes to get down in the morning) and added frustration. After the fact, I looked through other reviews and saw that this seems to be an ongoing issue, not a one-off situation. Between the reservation not being honored and the operational problems, it was a pretty disappointing experience overall. Skip this place.

The valet staff lost our key and it took over 20 minutes for them to locate it. They did not think to hire more staff for the busy Memorial Day weekend and the basketball/volleyball/adult softball tournaments that were going on in the area. The night before we had to leave our car halfway in the street because valet was so backed up. The guest service manager told us to leave it half away in the street. The next day the same manager blamed the desk agent for losing our key when they did the same thing in the morning when she wasn't there. Unfortunately, this caused us to be late to a magic show we were attending at Grand Sierra Resort. I understand mistakes can happen, but seeing the same issue happen multiple times in one day shows a serious lack of organization and professionalism. Valet should make the experience smoother, not create unnecessary stress and delays.

Normally free 2 hours parking with a casino validation. There is a small arcade for kids also, but we did not see any kids. Well if kids do come here, I am sure they are all outside at the cool Western Lights Event. "Lincoln Alley" separates their two buildings. I would utilize that space better, it could make a good indoor/outdoor space?!?! Especially for an event like today. Saw some signs for senior discounts, see picture. Beautiful views of the Western Lights Event from the parking garage, see picture. Cut and pasted: "36,454-square-foot (3,386.7 m2) casino has 849 slot machines, 41 table games, 3 poker tables and a race and sports book." Service - Self service. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1962. 1977 - Nevadan Tower. 1987 - Virginian Tower. 1996 - Stadium Parking Garage.

This was my first time visiting J Resort in about a year, and I decided to go because I wanted to…read moretry the buffet. From the moment I walked in, several employees greeted me with smiles as I made my way to the Players Club. At the Players Club, Michele was incredibly helpful and happy to reprint my players card. She also told me about the 25% buffet discount and explained how to print it from the kiosk. I tried finding the buffet on my own but couldn't locate it. I asked the security guard on duty for directions, and not only did he give me clear instructions, but he also personally escorted me to the escalators I needed to take upstairs. That level of customer service really stood out to me. Once upstairs, Ursula greeted me with a smile at the register and even joked about "ONLY having four hours left" in her shift when I asked how her day was going. I was seated right away, and my drink order was taken almost immediately by Hachib. Hachib was probably the most impressive waiter I've seen in a very long time. He was kind, polite, funny, and genuinely engaged with the guests. He even suggested a drink when he noticed I wasn't sure what I wanted. Watching him interact with the other guests around me, it was clear that he truly enjoys what he does and takes pride in going above and beyond. The food was good, but the service I experienced was phenomenal. Because of the outstanding staff, I will definitely be coming back -- and often.

Jhela - Porter 5/28/26 She is always busy and constantly on the move. I've seen her doing double duty, cleaning the casino floor area as well as the restrooms near the Aspen Tower. Week after week, she is out on the floor maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for guests. Her dedication and strong work ethic have definitely not gone unnoticed. Gage - Security 6/1/26 I first met Gage when he kindly assisted me with opening a water bottle. We ended up chatting about his name since my nephew has the same name. Since then, I've noticed him regularly making his rounds throughout the property, always professional, approachable, and attentive. I wanted to take a moment to make sure these two individuals are recognized for their efforts and commitment to providing a positive guest experience. Thank you, Jhela and Gage, for all that you do!

When I heard they were back at Baldini's I had to get it! The service was great but took awhile to get the burger. I like how they stack the box and give an extra box of fries. Welcome to Baldinis: Where the worst things happen…read more The only reason they are getting two stars is for the food. DO NOT COME HERE TO GAMBLE AT ALL COSTS. Period. I've been here at least 20 times and every single time they widdle down your money and you will leave with nothing you came in with. Slots are horrible, Keno never hits, not sure about video poker but I'd be willing to bet (with a much better chance at winning than if I were to bet anything here) that the poker is garbage too. Standard service, not anything to write home about. This is clearly a hang out spot for people that are already poor and Baldinis makes good and sure they stay that way. You know how you walk in a casino and hear or see lots of people hitting jackpots? Not this place. Just people chain smoking to calm their anxiety of getting robbed once again by the infamous Baldinis. Terrible casino. They will try and hook you with promotions but they are only to get you to show up and feel like you have a chance at winning something but you will indeed win nothing so save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Of all the Casinos in Reno/Sparks the places that hit the hardest have proven time and again to be Sierra Sid's (right down the street on McCarran) and Peppermill. I've given this place too many chances to redeem themselves but I always walk out of here irritated. They don't even give you small wins on any of the machines to break you in at even or slightly above. Every machine is the same thing: win slightly less than you're betting to chase a dragon that does not exist. Food is notably priced but again that's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. As a Casino this place is more than deserving of a full Zero Stars.
