Very disappointed with this casino. My husband and I went to many different casino and I have never seen any casino like this one. The dealer at the crabs table was asking my friend for tips. Tips should be given by the players when they want to, the dealer should not asked. This is very sad. My hubby and I also tips them and bet for them too, yet they still ask for more money. I will never come back to this casino anymore. Very, very disappointed. I would give them a negative zero if there is an options. read more

Christmas on Ice was wonderful! If you're looking for an interactive, fun, family (or not) Christmas show, I highly recommend! Very talented singers, dancers and ice skaters to engage you into singing Christmas carols and wow you with amazing skating feats! The gorgeous red haired singer was incredible, especially her rendition of Hallelujah! The beautiful blonde ice skater and her partner were amazing! Some people call Reno poor man's Las Vegas. Now I see why. Stayed at the El Dorado resort for a work function. The hotel is clean and the staff is nice. It's very out dated though. My room was decent size but felt like it hadn't been updated since Dean Martin played there. The casino floor was mostly slots and a small table area. It's a Cesar's property which connected to two other Cesar's properties; the Silver Lake and the Circus Circus. There are restaurants on-site and the food was pretty decent. Room service is available but the cost is steep as you would expect. For our small conference we got a room rate of $79 and parking for the whole week for $10 which was a deal. The property is in walking distance to the River Walk and popular restaurants. I'd like to see Reno again, but not sure this is where I would choose to stay. read more

My husband and I stayed in a corner suite at Eldorado. The suite is very spacious and has a full jacuzzi. The hotel has a nice old school charm. I recommend their restaurants Roxy and La Strada. The food and service are excellent. The hotel is located on the main strip of downtown RENO. Three hotels are connected known as "The ROW"... El Dorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus. The ROW is owned and operated by CAESARS Entertainment. Since I am disabled, I rely on my scooter to get around. I was pleasantly surprised that they FINALLY upgraded their elevator lift, located on the 2nd floor, by the water fountain and the SIlver Legacy entrance. It's so much faster and efficient. I mean it was a nice stay until this happened. We came out of town from Idaho, and on day 2 a lady went through and smashed out 10 cars windows out on level 2. Want to come back, but makes it hard when it feels like your car is not safe. Hotel stay is now 500-600 to replace back window and we are out of state. read more

I selected the "El Dorado Resort & Casino" because of its location. I was introducing Reno to people who had never visited before. I wanted to show them Reno's version of Las Vegas; the downtown; the River Walk and ballpark. The hotel was also close to the University and the attractions within mid-town. Reception checked us in efficiently. Staff was upbeat and helpful. I've attached photos of the room assigned to me. These were taken upon entry. I'm sure the hotel rooms see high guest turnover--but housekeeping is doing a good job. The room's decor is a bit dated, but the room was clean. The sheets were clean and in good condition; the mattresses were comfortable. The carpet did not have any noticeable spots or stains. The furniture might have had a few minor nicks but didn't have major bumps or bruises. The refrigerator was clean and didn't have any strange aromas. The towels were not plush, but they were clean and very serviceable. The TV operated well. The bathroom is where you will find the most wear and tear. While small signs of damage and repair were evident, I didn't find anything off-putting. If I did have a complaint, it would be that while taking a shower the water drained slowly. When I was done showering, I was standing in 2-inches of water. But this is a building engineering issue--not housekeeping. The "El Dorado Resort & Casino" originally opened in 1973. Since then, it's expanded and remodeled. Of the three casino properties that make up "The Row" (The El Dorado, The Silver Legacy and Circus Circus), the El Dorado has the reputation for being one of the better downtown properties. Now, this is where it gets tricky. I have stayed at a number of hotels in Reno. The El Dorado is very good. But while the El Dorado is amongst the best casino resort properties Reno has to offer, it is not on par with the best casino resort properties Las Vegas has to offer. I write this--not to be mean, but to manage expectations. Still, it was a good stay. read more

This was my 2nd visit to the annual festival. I was sorry/ sad to see that no improvements had been made! Whom ever is the organizer of this event Is falling extremely short here. Again with the ridiculous 2 1/2 hour wait line to get the pasta dish for the sauce contest... To get a beer we found it quicker to go back into the casino. I'm always so surprised about the major missed opportunity to make a ton of more money here. The shortage of drink booths, food booths were all untenable at least for me... I'm just not waiting in lines like this for ANYTHING!! At my age time is money! I don't think I will waste my precious time again next year and I'm so happy they didn't respond to my request to join the sauce contest, those gals looked miserable! Upon my arrival, my safe was broken and my toilet did not flush properly. King bedroom with nice view of the roof. It took 1.5hrs each for someone to come fix the safe & the toilet. Keep in mind In Atlantic City, when you call the Tropicana from your room phone, you actually get someone downstairs. At this establishment in Reno, you get someone from a call center located who knows where.. and they make the call to the proper department. Just all out frustrating. Called back a 2nd time after 50 min and the Cesars operator states "She will try to contact maintenance" Try? That's fine. I will "Try" to give you 5 stars. How about that? The only thing that kept me from giving this establishment 1 star was the engineer that reported to my room told me if I want to contact the front desk directly to dial "67". It's posted nowhere so I guess that's what the employees use. It helped me for the reminder of my trip. The comp system here is garbage. Don't waste your time getting a players card. read more

The room was nice and clean with a large jacuzzi tub that overlooked the snow capped mountains the bed was very comfortable with a large hanging TV, a couch, 2 large chairs with a table and a big dresser. Another big downtown Reno casino. Eldorado is one of the nicer ones around here. It has more to do than gambling but it's not quite that interesting enough to charge as much of a resort fee as they do for this. Has an on site brewery. They have some places to eat too. It has a pretty okay casino. Smell isn't as bad here as others can get. The casino is pretty clean and there's a good amount of games to play and dealers are usually friendly and fun too. Has an on site brewery. The food is forgettable unfortunately. Everything is overpriced. The sports book is okay but it also smells. As for the hotel it seems it's outdated according to what others have said about it. The rooms are small and they cost a lot. Charges a bullshit resort fee. It doesn't have enough to be called a resort. There's a brewery and food but not a whole lot of stuff. read more

Honestly felt like a Motel 6 (maybe a slight upgrade so I'll call it Motel 7 1/2), with a decent casino with some of my favorite slots (but horrible payouts if you're looking to score anything above a $10 slot bet). Rooms are average decent, old like most of the other Reno Harrah's/Caesar's properties. The lobby decorations are a sentimental throwback to what may be been Reno's glory days of yesteryear. It was like walk through a plastic, miniature version of the first Caesar's Palace, before the Vegas boom. Nostalgic, but neglected. Too bad, because I see huge potential if this city ever has a revival. read more

The tables were tastefully presented and the multi screen experience helped us all watch the game in unobstructed comfort. Bar service and table service was excellent. We checked into our hotel by the nicest staff member, Heather. She gave us great advice on where to go for dinner, Brew Brothers, which was delicious! Heather advised us to walk to the River walk, which we did and stumbled upon an outdoor concert. The bad part was when we got to our room. It was SO HOT. We called maintenance and they came to our room and said it was blowing cold air. We left for dinner and our walk. Three hours later, we came back to a super hot room! I called downstairs and explained. Immediately, I was given another room. WOW! It was a GORGEOUS, spacious room with a beautiful view of the city! Even though we experienced something negative, they fixed it and made our stay SO ENJOYABLE! I will definitely return! read more

Me and my buddy went out for a couple drinks and the exit was clogged up with the amount of people leaving , we saw a back door that said "exit" took that door had an elevator back to the lobby we took it and got stuck for about "45" min before it came to a plummet at the bottom luckily none of us were injured but I can't stand for El Dorado read more

Wow, It has been awhile since we have been to the Eldorado. Probably since the Street Vibrations years ago. We arrived here with our son and his family tonight to go to the Ichiban Restaurant and walk around the Casino before dinner. The Eldorado was super clean, Great staff, bathrooms were so clean and very nice. We did not gamble a lot, as we were there for dinner and our Gkiddos were there, but it was great. I loved the fact that the cigarette smoke was minimal, my nose still plugged up, but it was not unbearable!! Nice Casino, so cannot wait to come back and gamble some money!! El Dorado is another one of my favorite Reno resorts. Their restaurants (especially Roxy, Ichiban and La Strada) are some of my favorites. My wife and I spent the evening here on our way south to the Central Coast area. Parking was easy in their self parking garage which also contains over a dozen Tesla Superchargers. From their garage, there is a walkway across the street that dumps you into the casino and conveniently the hotel registration desk. On a quiet Wednesday night, there was no line to check-in around 5pm. Our room was on the top floor of the shorter of their two towers with a view facing north. The room was well appointed with a fresh contemporary vibe. The king size bed was comfy for me but too soft for my wife's liking. On either side of the bed, there were power outlets and USB charging ports for all your electronics. Very handy. Next to the bed by the window was a leather chaise lounge which was handy for our suitcases. I suppose you could recline in it as well and watch the TV. The TV offered loads of on-demand movies, numerous international networks and the typical mix of cable channels. There was a single cup Keurig coffee maker that was adequate but they did provide liquid creamers as a bonus. The bathroom looked modern with a large edge lit mirror, large counter space and a walk-in shower. There were plenty of soft fluffy towels provided as well as all the necessary toiletries. read more

I've been to El Dorado dozens of times and have stayed in every room this resort has to offer. The suites are nice but not worth the price listed on weekends and major holidays. I just got back from another Reno trip and this time -- we decided to stay at El Dorado because the Superior Room was decently priced. Our room was not cleaned out thoroughly as we found water bottle caps in between the sofa chairs, and the sheets were stained with mascara (or some other form of black liquid). It may be a hit or miss on the cleanliness of the room because I don't always experience surprises upon arriving into a freshly cleaned room. I will point out that the hotel staff at El Dorado are not inviting, accommodating, or professional. I'll spare the details here of my most recent experience but I would just like to help set expectations for your next visit. read more

I just checked in, but here are my early thoughts. This place needs a serious renovation. This unit is sad and tired. This is my first time staying at this property. I have stayed at Circus Circus once and the Silver Legacy 4-5 times. I can't help but compare these rooms here on the Row. The Silver Legacy is awesome! Circus Circus was quite good too. This is kind of a dump in comparison. Heck, the Peppermill, the Grand Sierra Resort, Atlantis, and the Nugget all have better quality rooms than this place. I don't know, maybe they have some nicer rooms, but I clearly didn't get one. At least I'm only here two days. So, when I had checked in, I asked to switch from the 2 queen beds, to a king size bed. That was my mistake. They did so but into a lower class of room. I went from Premium Luxury to Deluxe. There's nothing "deluxe" about that first room. They need to call these for what they are - old rooms and new rooms. I called the front desk and they moved me back. I'm now in a quality room on the 19th floor. read more

This was the last stretch of our little roadtrip and we wanted to upgrade our stay. So we found they have spa suites and knew that was the way to go! The cost wasn't that much more and the room was amazing. It was clean and huge. Everything here was so nice, we stayed until checkout time. The hottub was such a nice thing to have, especially since we had a full day of driving ahead of us. Bed was comfy, nice coffee station, huge shower. We were really happy and staff were friendly. The casino seems a little old, but that's okay with us. There are a few restaurants to choose from and they have interesting things to check out around the hotel. There was quite a crowd during lunch and dinner time, so folks should explore places off site to eat since the restaurants can get really crowded. Good place for families since circus circus is literally next door if you want the kids entertained. Would stay here again. read more

Least sad and depressing of the circus circus, silver legacy, El Dorado trio. They do the best job of the three in mitigating the cigarettes smoke smell, although it's still pretty bad. There's a decent Starbucks by the exit. Seeing a Starbucks and seeing an exit definitely raises one's spirits at this location. read more

El Dorado is over 50 years old and it shows. A once very nice hotel was taken over by Caesars and, to save a buck, they damaged its reputation. Don't bother calling the front desk after 11:00 p.m., they only have two people for the entire 26 floor hotel. Don't bother calling housekeeping after 11:00 p.m. because they have one housekeeper for the 26 floors. All calls for all requests are done through the offshore operator. You may not be able to understand them and they may not be able to understand you. Be sure to check the amounts they take from your card after you check out. They overcharged me and, of course, the accounting department is offshore. Don't bother staying here. read more

Do not be on 8th floor near the rooftop fans. No odd numbers at least facing parking structure and fans. This is the non tower with elevator next to lobby of check in. First room the bed was itchy. Had to switch rooms. Does people bring dogs with fleas? 2nd room was down the hallway, a little bigger, but tv wasn't a samsung. More slamming door noise. But still fans humming on the rooftop. Next time ask for even number rooms. Everything operational. Nice hot shower. Plenty counter space. Beds were soft. 3 different pillows from soft to firm. Kerig coffee with free two bottles of water. Had Starbuck coffee each morning. Nice thick towels. No more buffet. Coffee shop with plenty of desserts. Casino is quiet. Receptionists were all very nice. read more

The I got to the front desk, they didn't have my reservation and it has taken 90 min so far from Priceline... they ofcourse try to make it a Priceline issues... however while I've been sitting here it is a constant stream of reservations issues... We had a BLAST at the Cirque du Soleil show at the El Dorado Hotel last night! What a great show - and our seats were fantastic. It's a small, intimate venue. We were in the 4th row, middle section and were so close and could see everything. With fees/tax our ticket price was about $50 each - totally worth it! The singers and dancers were beautiful and changed costumes for each set. The aerielists and acrobats were AMAZING - a combination of strength, agility and grace. WOW - the acts were dazzling and full of energy. I just signed up for their newsletter so that I can get notices of their future shows. read more

Okay let me start off by say the employee that checked me in was phenomenal I wish I would have got her name but I did not. Everybody at the hotel check it though was extremely nice and extremely helpful but the room even though if you was fantastic it was a corner so I had views on both sides and I was totally thrilled to find nice soft robes in the dressing area that's where it kind of ends. It started off with housekeeping just walking into my room to see if I needed anything now mind you be not that she gave was one quick little tap and she was already opening the door so if I would have been in a compromising situation to compose myself before housekeeping was in the room with me.The jacuzzi tub that I was so looking forward to was almost impossible for me to use since I basically had to climb naked across the cold tile (girl parts were not happy) just to get in the tub getting out even worse since by then I was wet from the water so now it was slippery. The bathroom as you can see the toilet if you happen to be using it at someone walked into use the shower they would smack you in the knees with the door and then the shower door at the bathroom door they overlap each other so it was just extremely small and not very well thought out it is designed. And the last thing that I found unbelievable is it is July almost July and the pool closes at 7:00 p.m. that is absolutely ridiculous I went down there at about 8:00 because other hotels their pools usually stay open till 9:00 or 10:00 sometimes later so you would think that I was really looking forward to was going to the pool I missed out on because it closed at 7:00. I'm not a big fan of downtown and this experience was something that I wanted to do I wanted to see the rooms and so disappointed. read more

Every year, we celebrated New Year at Reno and ski at the same time. This year although with tons of snow, the drive from The Bay Area to Reno was quite beautiful and pleasant. This year we're lucky to have room at Eldorado and New Year dinner party. A little has been changed for the all three casinos adjacent to each other Eldorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus, same owner Caesar Palace. Even with the new owner, the operation is the same. It's almost transparent to guests except the tier of players cards have many different level. We had to get new player card. My casino host is the same efficient and attentive David Lee. Since my card wasn't high level, I got the room in High Sierra tower which is the older tower but the rooms were very clean and spacious. This year the room we had didn't have the view of fireworks like before, and the weather was so cold we stayed in and watch count down on TV. My wife loved the New Year dinner party here at Eldorado, it's always been top notch IHMO, the 80's music, the decorations, the full delicious 3 course dinner Salad, Steak & Lobster and dessert. We love the big dance floor and we got to sit at the table close to it. It doesn't matter what level of the card we have, if we win or lose, we just love to be here for New Year because Eldorado treated us very well. We took family pictures every year here at Eldorado since our kids were babies until now 18 and 15. This year, everything is digital, no more professional photographers, just a background and a digital camera with a photo printer, quite quick and efficient. All the food court was closed, the buffet also closed for dinner, we heard breakfast brunch was served for invited guests only, we're not invited LOL. No dinner buffet inside the Casinos. A new Japanese restaurant and the cafeteria only serves breakfast. I'm not sure if they renovate the place for food court or not. No Asian food in this casino that we could find but Starbucks are in both Eldorado and Silver Legacy. We went to ski at Mt. Rose which only 35 minutes drive away, quite convenient. This year we noticed due to COVID19 and Omicron, the place wasn't as crowded as last year we went but still pleasant and wonderful. We will be here again for President weekend for skiing if the weather permits. Since Caesars Palace owns these casinos, we could stay at Caesars Palace when we travel to Las Vegas, we used to love Caesars Palace many moons ago. read more

Came into town from Gardnerville to see a Reno Aces ball game and stayed overnight at the El dorado. First, the price was reasonable, then the parking garage is easy to find and navigate and the spaces are big enough to easily accommodate our SUV. The hotel desk had Liza, who was as pleasant and efficient as she could be. Then the facilities person went out of his way to direct us to a restaurant we were looking for. Several times we passed employees and were greeted with a smile and a welcome. We even had occasion to talk to the security manager and he too, was very pleasant. We have a future reservation at another hotel and based on experience at El dorado, we are going to change that future reservation and stay here again! read more

I came in to gamble with friends, the slots were cool, the tables had people, but there is one pet peeve , the sports betting is below par!!!!!!!! I didn't have faith on any baseball, or any other sports that weren't soccer! When I pulled up only the English premier league and the woman's World Cup were an option. On my way to Reno I did tell my friends that If I were to sports bet I would probably go for a specific Italian soccer game, I told the boys it would be a draw. Roma 2-2 salernitana turns right my soccer knowledge was good, but since the place didn't offer that I didn't bet. Even if y'all had faith in ufc , boxing and other sports, the bookies closed early, some guy showed up towards when we were leaving and the area was closed. What a missed opportunity read more

A 1 star is wayyy generous but you can't give zero.. Our trip was awful. It started with no ac.. so hot for two nights. Then my husband woke up the third morning with bites on his arm.. he checked the bed and sure enough found a bed bug!! The manager said she would give us a 40 dollar resort credit! No way!! We are currently sitting in the lobby, waiting for security to make an incident report since my husband has visible bites! This place is so gross! I will not pay a dime for this stay! And to think I'm still sitting in the lobby and they haven't even tried to address us again or make it right! read more

Arrived to a super outdated room. Paid $300 for a single night on a random Saturday. No special event that weekend. Upon waking up had red bumps on skin and found bugs crawling in the sheets. Had to write an incident report with security, promised they would investigate and call me back. Called back twice left messages for manager, was given phone number to company who does the investigation, left them a voicemail. Still never heard anything back. Had to destroy all of our luggage, clothing, and pay for car detail to ensure we didn't bring home bed bugs. Not a single cent refunded for the room or even an apology. read more
