Ladies and gentlemen,…read more I have to say, "I'm so disappointed with this place right now." My birthday is on June 3rd, and I went to Sky River Casino thinking, "They better not give me a cup for my birthday." They didn't let me down! They literally, pushed me down! They gave me a piece of printout with a chance to win free play or something at the end of the month. I was instructed to bring the printout to the Players Club, fill in my email address and have it put into a clear container with God knows, how many other printouts. Now keep in mind, this is only the 2nd of June. The drawing is on the 30th and there is a considerable number of entries already. DOES THIS CHANCE AT WINNING REPRESENT MY BIRTHDAY GIFT? WOW! I'm elite! What a travesty and total mockery of status. I would have felt better with getting lotto tickets from a homeless person. What a cheap way of celebrating one's birthday and thinking it's ok. I brought one of the employee's there a gift last week that cost over $50 and it wasn't even their birthday. Thunder Valley gave me a hefty amount of free play for my birthday, plus 2 free tickets to all the concerts from April thru August and 2-3 hotel night's stay each week. I'm really disappointed! Even the man standing in back of me today was complaining on how bad the place was. I had to stop listening to him. All I can say "SKY IS NOT THE LIMIT" AT SKY RIVER.

The fresh baked bread here seems to be the best compared to other grocery stores in the area,…read morehowever it costs a lot more. The pugliese bread is my favorite as it is soft, fluffy, and taste delicious! The sourdough is also yummy and has a light airy consistency.  The sandwiches are made with the fresh baked bread and are delicious! Even though the store opens at 6am, the bread is not ready until 8-9am, therefore it is best to order a sandwich a couple hours after the store opens for the optimum selection of bread. I once made the mistake of ordering a sandwich at 7am and was only presented with two bread options: sliced bread or focaccia. I selected the focaccia and although the bread was tasty, it made for a very soft and ultimately soggy sandwich.  There is a large prepared/hot food section that is self-serve. On one occasion while I was selecting a soup to purchase I witnessed an employee wiping up the spilled food from the counter and putting it back into the large food tray. It was absolutely nauseating and I immediately questioned if I should even purchase the soup given the lack of proper food cleanup/handling.  The grocery items cost much more than other grocery stores for the same exact item. Nugget seems to carry a variety of high-quality ingredients and typical well-known brands. The cost of produce and meat is much higher than other grocery stores, although the meat is typically sourced from local farms.  During Thanksgiving Nugget carries a large selection of high quality turkeys. There are a few turkeys that are sourced from local farms that are advertised as natural, antibiotic free, and free range. When purchasing a Turkey for Thanksgiving it is always advised to call and preorder as the high quality turkeys sell out fast.

We learned that on Mondays and Tuesdays from 4-10 pm, the steakhouse next door is closed so their extra prime rib is sold here at a discount! It's still delicious! We also tried the potato skin poutine. Very different than what you would expect based on the name but really delicious. I think the cheese curds were fried until crispy and served with sliced brisket, chopped mushrooms, and gravy. They were served on a small potato halved, not just the skin. Very hearty, but tasty! We also got to try the banh mi sliders with beef. Perhaps it is my bias having tried many iterations of this before, but the bao bun was not a great texture and the beef, while filet mignon, was just fine. The sauce it was served with helped a lot. And the chips that came with the bao were a bit stale. The staff are very sweet but definitely not as attentive as you would expect for a nicer restaurant. The ambiance was decent but so many blinking TVs at every angle makes for an extremely distracting environment. The noise from the casino carries a bit but is much quieter if you are deeper in the restaurant.

The birthday girl had the salmon dinner, and my sister in law had the meatloaf dinner. I enjoyed the juicy burger with tomato, avocado and bacon. It came with fries, but if you wanted to sub for a salad, it would be an additional $4. We started with a variety of appetizers, but I stuck with the dinner because that was plenty. Everyone enjoyed their meal, but i don't think my sister in law like the flavor of the meatloaf., but that's always a matter of preference/taste. We brought our own cake, but staff were available to cut it for us, and serve. There is a cake cutting fee too, so don't forget to ask about it ahead of time. The manager, Paul, was excellent. He was very attentive, and helpful, and enjoyed interacting with our group to ensure that our birthday celebration was a special one.

I walk up to the counter and asked for the Mango Sticky Rice and the guy who helped me, idk what his name is had an attitude and was like we're out of it. I'm thinking to myself, sooo if you KNOW you're of something that's popular and on the menu, maybe you should put a sign somewhere stating that it's currently NOT AVAILABLE. Then I had to call back home to let my siblings know that the initial drink they wanted was not available, so they can choose something else and again the guy taking the order wad annoyed. My siblings decided upon the Mangonada with brown sugar boba and the iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha. Unfortunately, brown sugar boba was not available was all out for the day according to the cashier.. but no sign stating that they were sold out. I had to call my siblings again to let them know and ask if they wanted crystal boba as a replacement. To keep the order going while I was calling them, I asked for a mochi waffle and the guy threw his hands up annoyed and was like do you not want the boba for drink? I told the cashier I'll have the crystal boba instead of the brown sugar since it's currently unavailable, and the guy goes with an attitude... soo do you want the crystal boba? I said yess...yes I do. The Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha was alrightt. It is definitely not all that it is hyped up to be. The drink IMO was just a basic iced matcha with chocolate drizzle on the side of the cup and the pistachio foam that barely tasted like pistachio.

I could snack on it for sure. The edamame is also something I could just snack on. It's covered with a sauce that is very addicting. We got a small boat that comes with sashimi, nigiri, and two rolls. All very fresh fish! The roll with the salmon on top was my fave. Their sauce on the rolls really bumps them up for me. We also got more salmon and tuna sashimi because we needed more! We also got this fried piece that's topped with spicy tuna, crab, avocado, and masago -- very delicious! I took away a star because I have had better raw fish from other places and there is just too much rice with the nigiri. The staff here are incredible! Satori is guaranteed for kind and attentive people.

So...if you are huge about cleanliness and sanitation I'll warn you now. But first let me say this:…read morethe one star is not for the food. The food was fine. We ordered a California roll and a tempura bento box. If you look at the picture it didn't come in a box. First Japanese place I've been to that this happened. The shrimp tempura may have been imitation shrimp. Not your traditional size. It's like Long John Silver fried shrimp. During the meal I heard the door open and smelled cigarette smoke. At first I thought it was a customer coming in and someone smoking around the door. When we were done with the meal the door opened again and again I smelled the smoke. THIS TIME I saw one of the sushi chefs walk in, grab his drink from behind the counter, put gloves on and proceed to do his job. HE DID NOT WASH HIS HANDS! He went straight back to work. Moments before that our server was eating something also behind the counter where they make the sushi. Now I don't eat sushi. My daughter does. But from what I know sushi is raw. Everything should be super sanitized. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I was beyond grossed out! I've worked at a restaurant before where they wash hands coming from the bathroom and first going into the kitchen. Twice. He didn't do it once! I told my daughter if she's feeling a bit sick to let me know. She said she's fine for now. How they got a PASS from the safety department I don't know.
