I would not recommend this seamstress based on my experience. If I could rate this place a zero I would. I was planning my wedding on a very short timeline and needed alterations completed within five months. The seamstress was aware of my deadline and assured me that my dress would be completed on time. Based on those assurances, I paid approximately $2,000 upfront for the alterations. She also invited me to bring my veil so we could ensure it coordinated with my bouquet and overall wedding look. When my mother and I attended a scheduled fitting after she had possessed the dress for approximately two months, we discovered that no alterations had been completed. Despite the lack of progress, we were reassured that the dress would still be finished before the wedding. My wedding was on a Saturday, and we were scheduled to pick up the dress on Thursday. My mother, sister, and I arrived at the agreed-upon time only to be told that the dress was not ready and that there had been a misunderstanding regarding the appointment time. Since I had family visiting from out of town, this required me to rearrange several plans during an already stressful week. Later that evening, around 8:00 PM, I received a call that the dress was finally ready. When I tried it on, the bodice area was still not properly fitted. The adjustment that was made involved pinching and sewing the side of the dress to achieve the correct fit, which felt like a last-minute solution rather than a properly completed alteration. What concerned me most was the interaction at the end of the appointment. The owner strongly encouraged my mother to leave a review and then took her phone to complete the review herself, including assigning a five-star rating. This raised serious concerns for me about the authenticity of some of the business's online reviews. For an alteration service that required a substantial upfront payment and involved such an important garment, I expected significantly better communication, professionalism, and workmanship. If I could give this sham shop a zero, I would! Absolutely the worst seamstress EVER! Not only was she painfully slow (she finished the dress the day of my brother's wedding!), she did a terrible terrible job! So bad that the dress looked as if it had been ripped up the seam, I had to use packing tape to hide the frayed edges. In addition, her price was OUTRAGEOUS! She tried charging me and badgering me into paying $400 for a dress that I paid $225 for. I eventually got her down to $150 which was still WAY overpriced. Lastly, she was rude, unpleasant, and when she learned my last name, she specifically asked me about my heritage, which was totally unacceptable! HORRIBLE PLEASE DO NOT EVER GO THERE!!!!!!!! RUINNED MY WEDDING DRESS!!!! She tried to push back my pick up date to the day and time of my wedding telling me she is to busy and that what she wrote down( NOT WHAT SHE TOLD ME). Then I get there today to see the HORRIBLE crap she very poorly some what attached to my dress. I asked her for a plain belt. She decided to put a gold/yellow dollar store ribbon on only half the waist and stick a bunch of cheap ringtones on top. The bustle she make shifted out of knotted up dirty thread loops and a HUGE silver eyelet hook on the back of my dress. As i explained this is nothing that i asked for she yelled at me and told me she is a real designer. She said she took my ugly dress and made it feminine like it suppose to be and I should thank her because now this is a real wedding dress. She wanted m to come back so she can cut off any thing she thought was of value and I can come back on her time. She also refused to refund me my $500. I think that they have a way of verifying that you were actually at the business. Idk Google needs to really do something about the bogus reviews. She has had 4 people put reviews today supposedly after hours. They're all Arabic names or weird names that don't sound right. I feel like if it's just a star rating it shouldn't be allowed there should be a pic to verify that you actually had work done. She charged me $350 to put a corset on a dress, to steam it and to hem it which I didn't ask for it to be hemmed. I went with it because I was in a bind and I had been there previously and she was reasonable and did a good job that time. When I arrived to pick up the dress she did not remove the zipper she left everything as is and just added loops to the sides of the zipper and gave me string. The dress was still the same length on with heels. She even told me that she finished all the work the same night that I gave her the dress. If she would have told me that I would have came sooner and she would have had a chance to fix the problem. When picking it up I questioned her about why she did it like that. She was like oh this is better if you loose weight you can wear it as if the "corset" doesn't exist. Either way I had no time to argue or do anything. At the wedding the zipper was constantly sliding down with moving around getting up and sitting down. The work was unacceptable I requested a partial refund. She then called me and harassed me on the phone and told me that this was what I wanted. I told her during the consult that she is the professional and I that I trust her to do the work as she saw fit. Regardless when a tailor says that they are going to put in a corset closure it usually means that the existing closure will be replaced with a new closure. Common sense, I am very disappointed and I am so sad that she would do this to me. She is very good with sweet talking a customer. Also any other place that I have had alterations done never take the payment prior to the work being done. Now I understand why she does that because she probably does this often. Either way it was a lesson learned. I would rather drive 20-30 mins to Bridgeview/Burbank area and go to an experienced respectful business that has been doing this for years with no issues. When I get home I will add a picture of the "work" that's was done. Response from the owner 2 days ago I altered her dress well, exactly as she requested, and in a short time. I am not responsible for her understanding of what I said to her. I am responsible for the work I did for her, and it was perfect. She finished her event and wants a refund after that. Was in line for service when I heard the owner yelling at a customer and arguing about what needed to be done. The customer seemed upset that something was done incorrectly. The owner was ignorant and combative. Ended up taking my gown elsewhere as I did not want the headache or hassle of dealing with these people. My daughter reviewed this business and was absolutely correct that we should be able to post a zero rating. Absolutely outrageous quote for bridal dress and mother of the bride alterations. Not to mention she was trying to force us to purchase a slip for a fully lined flowing bridal gown. We were quoted over double by her for what we actually ended up paying a reputable alterations business. When I changed my mind about having services done at Elegance Corner only shortly after leaving our dresses there, I asked for our dresses back, and she told me no and shoved me backwards; police were called and they were very familiar with this woman and her business practices and refusing to give property back to owners. This was a brand new unworn wedding dress that was completely ruined by her lack of skill in wedding dress alterations. I wish I could give 0 stars to this business. After having a gut feeling I shouldn't leave my wedding dress and my mother's MOB dress with this tailor, and seeing yelp reviews to back up my fears, my mother and I went back to the shop, 30 minutes after having met the owner, spoke about alterations and was quoted an ASTRONOMICAL amount for really minor work. Industry standard for the work was half the cost. My mother agreed to paid reluctantly but we decided to go back and share that we weren't comfortable paying that much and would like to cancel the work. No contract was signed, no policies shared and no work had started. When we shared this with the owner, she refused to give us OUR property back and was physically pushing my mother away from our dresses, saying we could not have them and they were hers now. What business owner does that to customers? The cops were called and only after 20 minutes of the officer trying to de-escalate, did she agree to give them back to us. She refused to refund us and even said she had our credit card information. So threatening to charge the card again I assume? She said we had a store credit but again, no policies were shared and again, no work had been done. We reiterated we didn't want a store credit but just to be refunded. Again she refused. Once we left to speak with the police officer outside, he said his partner was there the week prior for the same incident. The owner refusing to give someone their property back that was rightfully theirs. Amazing that this business is still open and has customers. I was right with my gut feeling after telling her we wanted to cancel the work and seeing her offensive and aggressive attitude. Nadia is amazing! She saved my wedding dress at the last minute. After arguing with the alterations staff at the bridal shop where I purchased, and originally had alterations done, about needing to take the dress in more to fit better, I left with a wedding dress that was a size too big with just three weeks to my wedding day. After calling several places in the area, I was sure no one would be able to complete the work in the tight time frame. Nadia was the last call I made. She asked how soon I could get the dress in for her to see. I brought the dress in immediately and within five minutes of being in the shop she had put my mind at ease. I had been told that due to the beading and lace it was impossible to take in the bust of the dress. Nadia had made three adjustments to the dress that solved all of the fit issues and suggested adding a hoop skirt under the dress to accentuate the details. Not only did Nadia take on the challenge with a very short time frame, but she finished the dress in just two weeks! I had expected to pay a small fortune on wedding dress alterations, which I did, but given the time crunch and the quality of work, it was worth every penny. read more

Do NOT do your business here. Argued with customers afraid it was going to become physical NEVER coming back! We have never in all our years had issues with our tailors. We Brought in a beautiful EMERALD GREEN dress that needed some adjustments she tried to fix my dress with BLUE fabric. The fabric she used for my over skirt was also BLUE and made of wire mesh the type of fabric you wear UNDER a dress to make the skirt larger. She used THAT fabric and claimed it as a fabric for the dresses overskirt and cut the rest into triangles literal triangles claiming they were ruffles for the dress!!!! She claimed that this is what WE asked for, mind you we showed her a picture of what we wanted exactly. It's actually funny how bad the dress came out i was horrified as the wedding is a week away she already had the dress with her for a month by this point. she did nothing she promised. we spoke to her quietly and mannered and she began disrespecting and arguing EXTREMELY unprofessional snatched the dress from my moms hand and tried physically getting into my little sister who did not understand what was going due to language barrier and was trying to see the dress. Very upset she would be like that with a child accusing my sister of trying to steal it. We were so upset with her getting physically active with a young child It was terrifying we gave her her money just to get away from her even if for no work and I still have to go to another tailor to do the work we asked her for. Nadia then proceeds to EXTREMELY overcharge for a simple trim Once the job was over and done with. I can GARANTEE that if I was informed the price before hand, WHEN IT WAS ASKED, I wouldn't have done business with her.
