Hailey, our sales rep, arrived on time and conducted a professional walk-through to hear our ideas. We discussed rough quotes for the kitchen and bathroom remodels, and she presented the option of a $10k design phase contract as a first step. We wanted to compare multiple contractors before committing and requested a written quotation first. The next day, I followed up via voicemail and text to ask about the quotation and clarify any questions. I received no response. I followed up again on 3/31 but did not receive a reply. Based on this, I assume the company is not interested, but I would have appreciated clear communication rather than no response at all.

We had a very disappointing experience working with Valero. In the beginning, he made big promises…read moreabout quality and said he would meet all of our expectations. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. After almost a year, the cabinets we received were much lower quality than what we were promised, especially considering the price we paid. He told us we would be getting dovetail drawers, but instead we got basic drawers put together with staples and no glue. We only found this out after doing our own research and pointing it out to him. This was never explained to us upfront, which was very frustrating. In reality, it felt like he took advantage of our lack of knowledge in cabinetry. When we brought it up, he said real dovetail drawers would have needed to be ordered from somewhere else. That was surprising to hear from someone with so many years of experience. We had already paid him 50% of the contract a year ago, assuming he would use that money to purchase materials. Later, we found out he hadn't, and he came back asking for more money, which we still paid. On top of that, timelines were repeatedly delayed, forcing us to reschedule other site work and incur costs due to Valro's last-minute cancellations. He repeatedly asked for more money throughout the project without finishing the work. Every time he came to the site, he made sure to ask for payment, but somehow "forgot" to complete the work he was there to do. We also treated him very fairly throughout the process. We paid for his hotel when he came to install, and we bought him lunch and coffee every time he visited. We did this because we expected good quality work and honesty in return. Overall, this was a stressful and expensive experience, and we regret choosing Valero for our cabinets. He overpromised, underdelivered, and failed to meet basic expectations of quality or professionalism. I have attached the contract and the actual installed cabinet. There is a photo of the unfinished work from Israel because he "forgot" the side fillers and the finished side panels of the cabinets. Just stay away from this CHEATER and LIAR called Israel Valero.

We invested significantly in custom cabinetry for our home and expected a consistent, high-quality finish. Unfortunately, the completed cabinets have noticeable and inconsistent discoloration throughout the home, resulting in cabinetry that does not have the uniform appearance we selected and expected. We raised our concerns and provided the cabinet maker an opportunity to address the discoloration, but the issue was not corrected. For a substantial custom cabinetry investment, we expected both better quality control and a willingness to stand behind the finished product. The inconsistent coloring has negatively affected the appearance of cabinetry throughout our home and, in our view, diminished the value of what we purchased. We are extremely disappointed that we were left with this result after investing in custom cabinetry.

Stetler Construction has done a number of major projects for us, and they've all turned out great…read more We started with floating shelves in a bedroom, then had closet shelving put in, then had an entire garage closet redone. All of these smaller projects were completed in exactly the way we wanted. Jeff was extremely responsive, making changes as requested with a great attitude. Feeling confident in his work, we had him screen in our large porch. This work was both effective -- we use our bug-free porch so much more now -- and beautifully done. We get compliments on it all the time. Lastly, Jeff renovated all three of our bathrooms. These were full renovations, with each room taken down to the studs. This was our first time doing serious renovations. As newbies, we relied on Jeff's sound advice and explanations. All three bathrooms turned out beautifully, and everything works great. Jeff and his guys did all the tile work, which is especially superb: totally even and solid. For a few parts of the projects, such as glass shower doors, he brought in an outstanding subcontractor. Many people I talk to have nightmare stories about renovations dragging on and on due to contractors who don't show up on schedule. Or they report shoddily done work. There is none of that with Jeff. He is extremely responsive and always there when he says he will be. And his work is absolutely top-notch. I can tell it really bothers him when anything is the slightest bit imperfect; such things get fixed, even if they are imperfections I would not have noticed myself. He's also extremely honest and fair and his pricing. Highly recommended!
