Mascarpone pancakes were so fluffy and not overly sweet. 4- which were perfect for sharing. Shakshouka was savory and nonspicy. I dropped in here with family for lunch before a Red Sox game thinking the options looked like something everyone could enjoy, as my cousin is vegan. The restaurant is small and well decorated, with a casual upscale feel. We were quickly seated and ordered our drinks; it seemed right away that our waitress was a bit inattentive, as she walked away just as my mom was trying to ask a question about the menu. I ordered the Nutella Latte (for $8, holy smokes!) and a falafel bowl- both decent, but not outstanding. I wouldn't have paid $8 for the coffee if I had seen the size and nature of what I was getting, and wouldn't order it again. For that price I expected something fancy- it was not that. The falafel was okay- but the portion was small, and I've had better (both in texture and in flavor) many times before. Overall, I wasn't wowed- I found it overpriced for what we got both in food and service. One other item of note - the women's bathroom door didn't lock, yet the lock clicked and seemed as if it had. Very relaxing and chill cafe. We came here for their Mascarpone Pancakes and it did not disappoint! The pancakes were so fluffy yet crispy on the outside. I love pancakes that are more on the sweeter side rather than savory! The pancakes remind of the Japanese fluffy pancakes. This is definitely a must try!!! When we got there we were impressed by the nice decor and relaxed, laid back "mood". I stated things off with a coffee, which was excellent. The hubby got the Falafel bowl, which had nice crisp falafels, and the accompanying pitas were great also. I got the Smoked salmon Benedict, which I enjoyed, although I thought the side salad was a bit overdressed. While our server was very nice, things took a while to come out. Tried Mood Restaurant in the North End and... yeah, the food absolutely lives up to the hype. We ordered the mascarpone pancakes (ridiculous in the best way), a turkey and ham croissant sandwich what had no business being that good, and steak & eggs that felt like someone actually cared about breakfast again. Drinks were just as fun vegan eggnog plus a pistachio latte (don't question it, just order it) and a pink non-alcoholic situation that tasted like brunch decided to dress up. Now let's address the elephant sitting at the table with no water: the service. Everyone complaining? They're not wrong. It's slow. Like... "you start reconsidering your life choices while waiting for a bottle of water so you can serve yourself" slow. And yes, management should absolutely just lean into reality and overstaff the place. It would solve everything. BUT and this is important, if you walk in knowing that, you're fine. The staff, when they get to you, are genuinely kind and friendly. It's not bad service, it's just... delayed service. Also, if you've got green hair and are confidently pulling off a look that says "I am both the main character and the plot twist," you will feel right at home here. I don't fully understand it, but I respect the commitment. Just thought people should know going in, just like the delayed service. Bottom line: incredible food, good vibes, patience required. Once we were seated it was a good half hour for our order to be taken. I don't recommend the cardamom latte - it was bitter and is not sweet at all. I think they could have mentioned that. Buried in the touristy "Italian" part of town is a restaurant that is doing its own though with a unique take on Mediterranean cuisine. I got a swordfish dish and it was as delicious as it was gorgeous. The plating was immaculate. The meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I paired it with a local Cold IPA from the liquor store one block over because this place is BYOB. I was so impressed with the food that I did something I almost never do: I ordered dessert. Get the orange juice!! It's SO good. They juice it right in front of you, and you can taste how fresh it is. Totally worth the $8 glass. Super cute spot in the North End with a delicious menu! We came in the evening for their dinner menu and were still able to order coffee drinks too. The must try are the pistachio lattes! Overrated. Food was OK. I got it cold and long after my friend was done eating. The server didn't hear when I ordered and pointed at the item on the menu. I said salmon eggs Benedict and pointed at it. I can't do starch like French fries and she offered a fruit bowl. Then comes back and said there is additional charge for that. I said no thanks. Penny pinching by a restaurant is not classy. The food comes out and I noticed my order was wrong. The manager comes and asked me what I asked for. I said I pointed at the menu and said salmon eggs Benedict. She began arguing with me. We got the soup special, which was a creamy mushroom and cauliflower bisque, the fried cauliflower appetizer, and the grilled octopus appetizer. We also got the greek salad. The fried cauliflower was AMAZING and covered in tahini and sesame seeds. A must-have. The octopus appetizer was a single grilled tentacle. We came with a group of friends to celebrate getting married at City Hall, and this spot was the perfect place to celebrate. The ambiance is beautiful, bright, and colorful. We shared the mascarpone pancakes, shakshuka, zucchini pancakes, and eggs benedict, and every single dish was fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. My friend who ordered the omelet said that it was the best omelet that she's ever had. The fries were perfectly crispy, and we loved that the portions were satisfying without being overwhelming. My personal favorite were the pancakes which were not to overbearingly sweet. Almost reminded me of the berry chantilly cake from Whole Foods.
