I have dreams about the morning bun at Greystone. It's perfection in pastry form, with beautifully laminated flakes surrounding an immensely chewy center. Just know that eating this is not the prettiest, because it's covered in an abundant dusting of brown sugar and cinnamon and will get all over your face, finger, and clothes, but it's worth it. Definitely a curse that I don't live closer to Greystone and in fact, getting to this particular spot in South Boston is a pain, because I would legitimately get this every day. I've also tried the menu of scones but nothing holds a candle to the glory of the morning bun. There's almost always a line (especially if you're coming on Sat/Sun mornings), parking is impossible, etc. They have a super cute pick-up window for grab and go orders, as well as sit down/indoor seating. read more

Great local cafe spot to grab some quick, quality breakfast. The cheddar bomb is definitely hyped up but it's a pretty decent breakfast sandwich. I personally recommend swapping out the bacon for avocado- even switch (meaning no additional charge) and I think the flavor palette complements the sandwich better as a whole. It's not a big sandwich or very heavy/filling so if your appetite is a bit heavier you may want to try somewhere else. You can also see that the menu items go fast. The line can also be quite long for the outside window but seems to move pretty quickly. However the food is pretty made to order so it may take some time to get it out to you. If you don't want a caffeinated drink, the hibiscus tea was decent. Not much seating at the restaurant itself. Pro tip: order your food at the takeaway window outside and then walk a block over to Crite Park where you can easily enjoy your food at one of the many table and chair options under a pergola. Used to be 5 star now 2. I've loved this spot for their matcha lattes since 2024 and always appreciated how consistent they were. After coming home from LA, I stopped by again expecting the same quality, but unfortunately, the matcha latte was disappointing. As they were making it, I could already tell it was going to be mostly milk, and that ended up being the case. I even looked back at a photo from 2024, and the difference was noticeable. The matcha used to be a much brighter green and had a stronger flavor. This time, it tasted straight up like oat milk with very little matcha. Paying $7 for what felt like a cup of oat milk was disappointing, especially since this used to be one of my favorite spots for matcha. Hoping they take this into consideration to making what it used to be. I've always had great experiences here in the past but today. Saw some good reviews about this place so decided to drop by in the morning. Was very happy with the croissant that I got, very buttery and flakey, just what I like in the croissant. The vanilla latte I got was on the sweeter side, so be wary of that if you don't like your coffee sweet. I've heard amazing things about Greystone, so I was very excited to jump at an opportunity to stop by one morning! The interior is pretty large, especially for South End standards, so it seems like a nice spot to sit and relax. The staff are also super friendly and nice, so it really feels like a local neighborhood staple. I ordered an almond croissant and a mocha. The almond croissant was delicious and definitely something I'd order again. The mocha unfortunately was not my favorite at all... it honestly didn't taste like much to me besides just milk. I'm not sure if they just had an off day, but I was disappointed after hearing all the hype. I hope to give this place another try one day! read more

We absolutely loved everything!! We loved the lemon and sundried tomato combination of the spring harvest bowl. We also really loved the mustard on the turkey sandwich!! I LOVE this spot! It has to be one of my favorite cafe's in all of Boston! Although it definitely gets busy at times, when you're lucky enough to snag a table, this is the perfect place to enjoy a full lunch or a light snack with friends. I came to greystone for the first time to try the summer chippy series (ice cream sandwiches with grey stone cookies and Toscanini ice cream). This is such a treat! I love this idea for the summer and that they have unique flavors every week. I tried the flavor of the week "london fog" which was lavender cookies with earl grey ice cream, I was skeptical as someone who doesn't usually prefer fragant flavors but it was a good combo. Still sweet and decadent and like nothing I have had before. I will say it is an expensive sweet treat ($9-10), but a treat for sure. Yes, this is a cute cafe but the quality of drinks aren't there yet. The flat white tasted like burnt coffee beans and the matcha latte was not strong at all- very milky based and the color was grey light grey green which means poor quality matcha. Come for the baked goods, coffee was a miss for me. There's always a line outside on weekends but I can't say that I don't get the hype. Go and order inside instead of at the window and I've found that has been faster. I found the pastries to be very reasonably priced and delicious! I want to go try more of them but the croissants are excellent especially after warming them up. I think I may need to try a different coffee drink but the iced coffee was a bit on the watery and more sour side the day I came in. I'd come back even if it was just for pastries. read more

Greystone is only a 10 minute walk through a beautiful neighborhood, so not bad to get to in the morning. I ended up only trying a breakfast sandwich, which was tasty but seemed to have too much sauce smothering the egg flavors. The bacon was only a few crumbles, not an actual piece. I was a little disappointed. I also wanted to try the coffee, but after asking what kind they had and getting a quizzical look from the person as the register, I decided against it. They noted it was not too strong, despite showing me a bag that clearly indicated "wild". ?? This place clearly has a following of patrons willing to stand out in the heat to wait for their online orders, so perhaps my first visit was a hiccup. read more

This is located around many houses so I thought it would be a pretty good neighborhood coffee. However, when I had question about the coffee the employees didn't really seem to know and had to ask others, I like to observe from a far when my coffee is being made and seemed like the barista didn't really know either because they asked others for the steps to make my coffee(perhaps they were in trying). Coffee itself was mid, the black tulip flavor was nice/interesting. I got a ham and cheese croissant which was good in size and tasted good but found it expensive compared to a coffee shop I had tried the day before. For my coffee and croissant I paid almost $12. As for the place, it's small inside, some variety in seating, nice and clean but they have a no laptop policy. I have never seen that policy at a coffee place, which makes me believe locals would probably not get coffee from here. They don't show a lot of the prices so had to hope it wasn't too bad. read more
