I'll try to make a long story short. I went to this place in a group of 4 and one of my friends had her phone stolen. We tried to get help at the front desk and they told us to talk to the manager, I think his name is Brandon. Him helping us consisted of him handing us his card and then saying the club was not responsible in 50 different ways. The worst one was him blaming women for getting their phones stolen by putting them in their purses while they try to enjoy themselves on the dance floor. I would expect this kind of response from some random loser on the street but not the "manager" who is supposed to ensure his guests are safe and having a good time, but I guess that just speaks to the kind of person he is and the club he runs. I would highly suggest avoiding this place as there is a HIGH likelihood of your phone being stolen (security themselves told us 12+ phones were stolen that night), and if your phone is stolen ask for help from anyone but the manager as you will be wasting your time trying to talk to him. The club and music were fun for a while, but things took a turn when an individual was pickpocketing, and several guests reported having their valuables stolen. The suspect was an African American man wearing all black with a jean jacket and was accompanied by a woman carrying a purse. When confronted, the host/club owner denied responsibility. Despite multiple requests to the DJ to announce the warning, he ignored them. Many guests began to suspect that the club's management might have been involved in or complicit with the thefts. Went here on a Friday night for their R&B night and one of the most memorable clubs on my visit to LA! The club is unique, the windows were open the entire time which was good to feel the air flow thru the club, great ambiance, good drinks not the watered down crap you usually get at the usual clubs, great vibe, danced all night, the VIP tables were a bit pricey so we opted to pay the cover charge, but it was well worth it! Make sure to check online if you're looking to go on a R&B night as some friends went the next night and it was EDM night, while still not bad, if you're not into the music, it can ruin your night so be sure to check before you go! read more

My friends and I usually go to Elevate for a girls night now but our most previous experience ensured that it would be our LAST visit. The security guards there have an unstable temperament and make all their decision off ego instead of logic , and some are very hostile! My friends and I were kicked out because I wanted to wait for my two female friends to finish using the restroom . Security advised them to use the men's restroom to keep the line moving . When he opened the door there was a man right there using the urinal ! Didn't even give him time to zip up . I didn't feel comfortable so I decided to stay near the restroom stalls my friends were using just to make sure no funny business was going on. Security tried to bully me into leaving them in there alone and I said no I'm going to wait for my friends to finish using the men's restroom. The security told me "you have to do what I tell you to do". Again I replied no. Im not leaving my friends in a men's restroom full of strange men that we don't know. After I kept dismissing the security guards demands he kicked me and my friends out . That was the last straw for me . It seems like the security guards try to use their authority to take advantage of the women there . Most importantly both of my friends felt disoriented and threw up on the way home, they felt worst the next day with a foggy memory of the events at the lounge. Elevate was my go to spot for the views and atmosphere, haven't been there for a good minute till this past weekend and was extremely disappointed, if your Latino be ready to feel unwelcomed, security is rude AF & was trying to get me to pay twice - if you smoke, you have to take the elevator back down to the first floor since you cannot smoke on top anymore and be ready to argue with security on your way back since they don't validate the stamp you got when you paid to get back in. I was desperately looking for a club or lounge to host a halloween party with 20 of my closest friends. I literally googled lounge in DTLA and Elevate came up as one of the options. I booked a table, specifically for the Thunder and Lightning package (two bottles, 1 sparkling wine, 16 comp tickets), with Taylor via text. Taylor is very responsive and accommodating to all my questions and needs. I received confirmation emails and kept in touch with Taylor throughout the week. Even though my friends and I stood in line for 30 minutes waiting for the hostess to come get us on the day of, it was easy peasy afterwards. I had to handover my ID and credit card because they require an initial charge to be made prior to checking into the table. The table was directly in front of the DJ booth as I had requested and our server was the sweetest lady ever (I'm so mad I forgot her name because she deserves a shoutout). Disgusted with this place. This place was a go to. It was classy and played great music, but now it seems like they let anyone in. Before everyone dressed well (men and women) now there was women with super casual ripped jeans, sandals, anything but classy. I emailed their Reservations Manager, Madison, she emailed me the bottle service pricing (see screen shots) but once we were inside the venue, pricing changed. Why promote the wrong pricing? If you've been looking for an upscale and classy place to dance the night away, this is it! DJ Snail was there playing lots of hip hop and older pop. It was amazing! The lights are really cool on the dance floor. Drinks are expensive and strong, but nothing special. The view is gorgeous and the dance floor is large. It's an open concept, so you don't have to deal with the maze of roped off bottle service tables. It also has a balcony area where you can get some fresh air and cool off from dancing. We used to go to boulevard3 before it (fingers crossed) temporarily closed. This place is a good substitute! Doesn't have the same 'wow' factor or exceptional customer service, but it's still upscale. Some of the bouncers were a bit rude to people, giving them trouble for not being in line before 10:30 pm to get in free or sitting on a random bench (they sell seats, so you just can't sit if you don't have bottle service). So that's why four stars instead of five, because boulevard3 has awesome customer service and amazing drinks. And places to sit if you don't have bottle service. Been coming here for years and I love this place. One of the tightest ran ships in all of nightlife in DTLA. And the sushi restaurant next door is pretty good too. Do's and don'ts... This venue is a NO SMOKING venue because of the restaurant and the food they sale does not allow it. You will be given two stamps to go downstairs to smoke and the stamps will allow you back upstairs. Because the venue is open air and located on the 21st floor they do not allow for people to stand on the back of the couches and hang over the glass. Its for your own safety and being that you are 21 floors up seems like a reasonable request. However some individuals get too attached intoxicated and act stupid and when security does their job these drunk individuals become confrontational, refuse to leave and end up getting escorted out by security. Some of their security guards are off duty police officers. If you are standing on tables and couches, and being disrespectful to the staff they will ask you to leave. If you are a MATURE ADULT looking to have a great time this is the spot for you. If you are an entitled, juvenile immature individual who feels like they can just show up disrespect the staff, disrespect and talk crazy to security and management because they asked you not to stand on couches and hang over the glass and disrespect the house rules and run the venue like you own it you will be asked to leave quick, they do not tolerate disrespect and they definitely do not baby sit adults who can not handle their liquor. Outside of this you will never have an issue at Elevate Lounge. I've been here twice now and the view is awesome! The DJ's always good too, playing hits that are easy to dance to. It usually ranges from Spanish songs to top hip hop songs. Teo ,one of the promoters, was super friendly and gave me free drink cards on my first visit. Guest list is easy to get on, just gave to go online and put your name on the list and you also gave the option of bringing 2 guests. They're not very strict though, my friends weren't on the list and got in immediately. The only con is that there is NOWHERE to sit unless you purchase bottle service which is kind of a pain (literally) if you come wearing heels. I would suggest either wearing flat shoes or take sitting breaks when security isn't looking. I made the mistake of wearing heels and really needed to sit down. Even if all the bottle service couches are empty, security will still come by and kick you off. My feet literally had blisters on them and I had to take my shoes off and stand in the corner. Then of course security comes by and tell me I have to put them back on. Sigh -- no fun at all. Overall, love the location and service. My boyfriend had his birthday at Elevate a couple of weeks ago and we were very pleased! I contacted Ronnell to get onto the guest list (323) 428-7125 and as long as you get into the club before 10:30 it's free for both guys and girls. I decided to go with Ronnell instead of the Elevate guest list because I read reviews about how they messed things up or they wouldn't let people in etc. so I figured it would be safer. He was really great because I kept changing and adding more people to the list but he didn't mind - in the end we had about 16 people on the guest list. PARKING: If you look at the photos in the Elevate Yelp, that handrawn map was SUPER helpful to find the valet area. It's only $7 and super convenient and helpful. I think it's also cheaper than parking lots nearby and is worth not having any hassle. WAIT: The line outside actually wasn't too bad. We got there around 9:50pm and there were only about 5 other groups in front of us. You have to wait outside of the building before they check IDs and let people in. A few of my friends didn't make it until after 10:30pm and had to pay $20, but the girls got in for free. ATTIRE: Guys have to wear dress shoes and dress shirts with a collar. I think they want to keep the place classy and upscale, which isn't a bad thing...just make sure your guys know so they don't have trouble getting inside. A lot of girls wore nice clubbing dresses and I don't think I saw anyone super casual, it was pretty upscale. ATMOSPHERE: The club is located on the 21st floor right across from Takami and it was really nice. Blue-ish lights with white couches for tables and the entire outside was open air. There are short plastic safety barriers but you can literally stick your hand outside and feel the cool air. The view of LA is also really pretty at night with the lights. The dance floor is kind of small but the club wasn't completely packed so I didn't feel super squished. The security people are kind of particular about leaning on the walls or standing too close to tables or just lounging in random areas. I think they want to keep the club clean and nice and not have a bunch of stragglers hanging around the outside. DRINKS: I think a well drink was about $12 and a shot around the same price, I'm not sure if this is considered expensive but yeah...we considered getting bottle service but it's around $300 for one bottle and it didn't seem worth it unless you really want a table to sit at. MUSIC: The actual DJ didn't come on until 12am, but I couldn't really tell the difference. They played a lot of older songs in the beginning but then upped it to top 40 and some house. I actually really liked the selection because they played a lot of hip-hop that radios don't even play and mixed it in with some EDM. Personally, I prefer hip-hop and top 40 so I was pleased. It was also a lot of people's birthdays and the DJ allowed shout outs, which was cool. CROWD: I'd have to say it was mostly 20-30 year olds, and a good mix...some asian, some white, some latino...overall a good crowd. I didn't feel there were too many creeper guys around the sides but a lot of groups. It's been six years since I've set foot in here. Back then, my buddies and I were having a going away sting for one of our friends that was moving away for pharmacy school. We chose this place as our final destination that evening. I liked the environment here. Much like The Standard, it's high up on one of the skycrapers in Downtown LA. The lounge itself was popping, the drinks were strong, and the were nice sights to be seen. Fast forward to 2016, my buddy and I walked in here. For him, it has been longer since he's been here (his last time was 2007). We both agreed that this lounge is still the same great place to party as back in the good old years.
