The decor is perfect for an airport restaurant, the scenery to enjoy while dining is super (planes landing and taking off) the service by Amanda was great and our food was beyond delish! Tom had an In Flight Burger with a side of fries which he said was "perfect." I had a Captain's Burger with a side salad. Another recommendation from Facebook!! I stopped in here on 12-23-2021. Truly awesome!! I'm a fan of grouper and this place was touted as "good for grouper." Well, it delivered. Excellent blackened grouper sandwich with fries. Lemonade to drink. The blackened grouper was 8 ounces of perfection on a hoagie roll with lettuce, tomato and pickle. It was big enough for two people or two meals. The fries were amazing. Crunchy and good flavor. The lemonade was good too. The place was busy too and practiced appropriate precautions. It's a nice place to go to for locals who want to try something different and watch the planes come in and out of the Ocala International Airport. I will be back!! The excellent server was "Maggie." Been here in Ocala for about 4 months and have been to this restaurant about 5 times and each time the meal is fantastic. Truly, in an area where there's an obvious need of chefs who care about what they're slapping down into a plate, this place is a pleasant and extremely needed surprise. Go there. Have a great meal and watch the sunset at the airport! So good that perhaps it'll attract a passenger airline to open a gate here. One can only hope! Had Ro, our server, a couple of times. Was an hour later the waitress still just gabbing with co-workers came over to apologize. All my fault she admitted. Was not impressed by the staff. Food was ok. Staff needs retrainping and manners. My mother had heard that there was a new restaurant at the Ocala International Airport, so we decided to go by and take a look. Situated inside the main terminal, the restaurant overlooks the flight line of the airport, with seating available looking out at the private commuter jets and Cessnas that are parked on the ramp. We decided to go ahead and grab a bite to eat... not exactly a lunch, but instead a couple of appetizers that would work for us. Service was a bit slow, but it was also a bit after the lunch rush and I am going to give the benefit of the doubt here and say that our waitress was taking a much needed break from time to time. I went ahead and ordered some fries and the chili, while my mother ordered the beans and rice. Both were good, and the fries were very nicely done and held up throughout the meal. We sat there eating our impromptu lunch while watching various jets and prop-driven aircraft get prepared for flight, then watched as they taxied off to the Southern end of the runway for takeoff. A very enjoyable meal, and I think we will be returning for just this sort of experience again. I would give them four stars because the food and experience of being able to watch the flight line is great, but the service needs some work. read more

First time to this place. Absolutely loved it. Our waiter Ryan was very personable & funny. We followed his recommendations and were not disappointed. This place was fabulous. The service was a little slow but the food was absolutely hot and delightful. The lobster spring rolls were delicious as were the entrées and dessert. I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu. I can't believe I've been living here since August and haven't been there until now, I highly recommend. It's a busy friday night and not our first time in Elevation 89. We were celebrating my birthday with a nice dinner. Everything started off great with our drinks but went downhill after ordering the Cajun snapper with blackened asparagus with xtra Cajun cream sauce. I noticed that our waitress had forgotten the asparagus. And I reminded her that the menu included the asparagus and somehow it was not brought out with my meal. She came back about five minutes later and informed me that the asparagus that was on the menu for my snapper had been diverted to the Wellington (the special of the day). She didn't offer any suggestions other than the chef wasn't including it in my dish tonight. I asked for a manager, who also offered no suggestions. Only apologized for the inconvenience. It really sad when a high-end restaurant chef doesn't plan ahead enough for ALL menu items to be served on a menu staple. Sadly to say Elevation 89 lost our business that night and any future business. All over about 4/5 pcs. of asparagus. read more

Server neglected to tell us they had a special Wellington and worse than that, ALL the asparagus that was on their menu was not available due to it being limited to only the Wellington. Personally I would have loved to order a Wellington but I got a fillet instead since I did not know it was an option. My husband missed out much worse for his birthday dinner since they shorted him the blackened asparagus as well as the replacement veggies. Our last visit here for sure. read more

Service was poor and beef stroganoff was horrible, no meat just plain noodles no sauce 26 dollars , hamburger helper would have been better. The short ribs looked like sliced beef , the worst meal I ever had there. read more

The atmosphere and staff are nice but the food was mediocre. It had the rice bowl that comes with veggies and your choice of protein. I ended up ordering the shrimp rice bowl and it wasn't that great, bland and the rice was over cooked, almost porridge consistency. The rice bowl sounded good in theory on the menu but it wasn't actually good. It was my first time here but I think it will be my last. read more

I hate to write a bad review but my experience last night was awful. I had a reservation and was still not seated for a half hour. My food was cold when it finally came out and the fish was a tiny piece as well as being overcooked. There was a mistake made on my order as well. The poor waiter seemed embarrassed by the long wait for our food and the mistakes. They seem to be having some problems dealing with the huge volume of winter people. I had very good meals and service here earlier this year before the busy season . I will go back during the slower part of the year. To be fair this is happening all over Ocala. read more

Pricey but good, varied menu so there's something for everyone. Service was very good. Ambiance was good, located inside at the local airport, but not built to watch planes Land/take off. We are planning a return visit with a group of six, and I posted a question about modifications to their menu to accommodate a dietary issue. Chef Jeremy answered within the hour (!!), saying that they can and will modify any dish to ensure the health of their patrons. read more

Ordered Hungarian gulash - came up 1) cold 2) over maceroni - no mushrooems, no sour cream, - a FEW chunks (less than 2 oz of meat. Replecement (airline chicken) was equally bad, but ate anyway (as others were almost finished). Other person had "rack of lamb" which was overdone and came from a large sheep, other meal was miniscule helping - but salad was good. Service was from a pissy waiter. Flew into town to goto a state dive meet. Beautiful FBO and restaurant. I really recommend the crispy chicken sandwich. It's home made, fresh and very memorable. We kept hearing the airport restaurant had good food but hesitant because, well it's an airport. It was not busy when we went and our waitress was friendly and helpful. I like being able to look out the big windows, should someone land. The wings were very good, smoked and flavorful. My husband also like the burger, however the fries were not good that day. The grease was off but they totally made up for it with a dish of peach cobbler and ice cream. It was delicious. 5 stars for making sure customers are satisfied. Hard to get now days. read more

The place was packed! Not a lot of servers working, but the service was good considering how packed they were. We had the chicken wings and I thought they were excellent! I ordered them with the honey garlic sauce, they have extra sauce in the dish and blue cheese or ranch dressing. I wish I had a seat next to the window to watch the planes, although it's not a busy airport. Would like to go back one day when I'm back in Ocala. read more

I came to this restaurant with a group of around 15 people. I ordered a burger with a Mac and Cheese for the side. The rest of the group at my table ordered salads. Unfortunately, my burger was the last order to be served, and it came on a very hot plate. You could tell it sat under the heat lamp for a very long time, as the top of the roll was so crusted it cracked when I attempted to slice it Also, the top of the Mac and Cheese was not edible. The food and service was good but the ambiance was lacking. Being a Sunday late afternoon the choices of the menu dwindled a bit as various items were not available. The room was cavernous and echoed. lt felt like a cafeteria in high school with a bar set up in the corner with windows through which you can see airplanes. My French 75 cocktail was perfect: slightly sweet with a pleasant gin bite. Hubby ordered a gin martini. Server was awesome to ask if he preferred a brand of gin but he also requested olives which never arrived. Crab cakes are the best I've had so far in central FL: chunky, tender on the inside and a light sear on the outside, understated seasoning and no filler (like peppers or celery). Absolutely fantastic and the accompaniments of blackened aioli and roasted corn relish were nicely spiced. The avocado was perfectly ripe but now I realize I never got the crispy tortillas that were supposed to come with it. I left off a star because our waitress sat at a table with the only other patrons in the place, sharing phone photos and life stories, while our drinks went empty and the crab cakes disappeared. We would have ordered an entree (as so many looked so enticing) but after 15+mins of being ignored, Hubby managed to get another employee's attention and request the check. read more
