Waffles had a nice sweet and light flavor! The chicken was ok. Not high on spices. Fried hard. Extra crispy. Correct portion size for breakfast. Just right. Strawberry mimosa more on juice side than champagne. It was ok tho. It did the job. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was attentive without making us feel rushed. She kept busy and made sure to check on us. Quite loud. We overheard several conversations bc the music playing overhead is kinda loud. Cannot imagine the noise level when packed. There was a Juneteenth shindig so it was sorta crowded. There is a separate room for reserved parties (I guess). The seating is horrible tho. We sat in a booth and it was broken or something. Needs to upgrade booths. Feels cheap and uncomfortable. I recommend choosing a table. Overall experience exceeded my expectations considering we couldn't even get into the place on two prior visits and was met with less than stellar customer service. Almost did not return for a visit bc the customer service was lacking. Still, a little overrated if you know soul food. Visited on grand opening day. Waited 2 hours to be seated. Service was a bit slow. Once we were finally served, the food was delicious. We sat on the sunroom side and about froze to death. The menu selections were amazing and plentiful - almost 2 pages of items. The next time most of the items had been removed. Not sure what happened. Yesterday's experience during my visit for brunch at Elicious Southern style restaurant was dramatic I found a place to park on the restaurant 's parking lot next to a mound of snow and when I stepped out of my car, I FELL and I couldn't get up(I'm 76 and handicapped) As I sat on that Patch of ICE and couldn't get up, five Wonderful People who were on their way into the restaurant, stopped and successfully helped me get up off the ICE and into the restaurant. While they were trying to help me, someone from the restaurant staff came out to see what was going on. They then offered to put SALT on That Spot Those wonderful people, successfully helped me get into the restaurant, but THIS should have NEVER Happened, if restaurant would have checked the parking lot and had put SALT on That Icy Area After my fall incident, so I stayed joined by a friend. We both order food, but no one from the management staff came by our table to check on me further. During our time there, I did not enjoy the omelette that I ordered, I couldn't eat it and I ordered something else. I wanted to like this place, but the service was not good. I made a reservation online but the hostess wasn't even aware of it. She wrote down my name and told me there would be a few minutes wait time...a few minutes ended up being close to 20! When we were seated our waitress came out to take drink orders. There were 11 in my group, but she opted not to write down our drinks. I wasn't surprised that she not only forgot my drink but forgot that I even ordered a drink. After a bit, not too long, our food came out. My husband ordered the wings and waffles, I ordered the Johnny's favorite breakfast. First thing that was a red flag was that the picture of the wings and waffles wasn't even from Elicious' own kitchen. The food looked okay, nothing too special but nothing wrong. The chicken wings were some of the tiniest wings I've ever seen! They were seasoned really well though. The pancakes and waffles tasted like any run of the mill store bought mix, which was disappointing considering this is a breakfast/ brunch spot. The sausage was ok, the eggs were cooked well, but the grits were SALTYYYYY. They don't use real maple syrup (maybe I'm spoiled on that one) nor do they use real butter (we were given cups of what might be country crock). Also the floors seemed greasy, our chairs slid every time we moved in our seats. With so many good restaurants out there I can't say that I'll be back. read more

This was our first time going to Elicious. My husband and I both had omelets and pancakes. He also had a side of potatoes. We thought the food was really good. The food was flavorless and the pancakes were lacking moisture. I watched patrons grow impatient with their wait times and then, it became my turn to wonder about the wait. While everyone on staff was polite and accommodating, they couldn't provide enough excuses for the delay of food and the less than presentation and taste of the the food. I want a variety of options that will allow the patrons to decide what type of meal they'll be served. Some authenticity in the meals and plenty of seasonings is what this establishment needs. Mimosa was really weak too. No fruit toppings for pancakes or waffles. It's all very basic. The first time I tried to eat here, they told me the wait was about 45 minutes (it was a weekend). I would've been very disappointed if I had waited for this basic, room temperature meal. There's also not a lot of variety on the menu. This was my wife & my first visit to Elicious, but it definitely won't be our last. We used to go to the bar & grill that used to be there, and Elicious is definitely several steps above the old Marley's. The exterior of the property looks great. Several speed bumps to deter people from speeding thru the parking lot or to bypass the traffic light on the corner. The interior was bright, fresh, CLEAN, and friendly. Even the restrooms were spotless. The menu is breakfast and brunch foods, and it was DELICIOUS! The foods are fixed with a Southern flair. A nearly TWO HOUR wait after having my order taken is simply unacceptable. On top of that, the pancakes were firm, had a horrible smell, and almost metallic aftertaste, completely inedible. The rest of the meal (fried chicken, southern omelette, and potatoes) were mediocre and room temperature at best. I completely understand that this is a new establishment, but the first impression is the most important and it was an utter disappointment. My Shrimp & Grits had so much grease, I had to pour it out into a saucer in order to enjoy it. We waited for over a close to 45 minutes for our food, our waitress spilled a mason jar of cold, ice water into my lap. They did a horrible job of cleaning it up. When our food arrived we didn't have silverware nor napkins. Lastly the ladies room didn't have paper towels upon arrival, midway through our visit...I was pretty disappointed. My husband just recently dined here a couple of days ago. That was our second time dining there and the first time it wasn't so bad. The second time was not a good experience. Let start with the drinks.... Coffee- their coffee is HORRIBLE. Is was bad the first time and I attributed it to just being a bad day but the second time it was horrible. Margarita- it was strong but didn't taste like a Margarita at all. The Fried Catfish Breakfast.... The catfish was excellent, fried to perfection. It was a little salty but doable. The Pancakes was not good at all. I have never had pancakes that didn't taste like pancakes. They taste like cake with extra vanilla. The Grits taste like onions, even after butter and sugar was added I couldn't disguise the onion taste. The eggs were ok. My husband ordered an Omelet which was just Eggs, Cheese and Meat. There were no Onions, Green peppers. Sour Cream or Salsa. The Omelet was cooked hard. We spent over 40.00 bucks on our meals and ended up throwing much of it in the trash. We won't be back. The service was excellent although I was given Set of utensils that had solid food on the fork, it was gross. The restaurant is very nice, clean and they play good old soul music but they have to do better with the cooking and cleaning of the eating utensils. read more

I visited this restaurant twice. Once I got takeout before going to work. The eggs were burnt and the sausage was hard and over cooked. That was when they first opened. It's in my neighborhood so I decided to try again, I went in walked up to the front counter where two ladies was standing, they never acknowledged me. I stood there face to face with them and they continue there conversation right in front of me for almost 10min. A older gentleman came up to the host stand and sat down, I asked him if I could place a to go order he wave his hand towards the two lady's who still had not look up or said anything to me at all. I won't return, I'll just shake my head when you close. These days you need good guest service in order to get and keep customers. That was a shame and embarrassing at the same time. read more

Horrible. I have tried this place 2 times now. Different times of day and with different ppl. horrible both times. I was given excuses about staff shortages. Products not available. When food came out sausages looked like banquet pre-cooked sausages. Extra charge for Turkey sausage. Eggs had to be liquid eggs not fresh cracked( shelled eggs), potatoes were old and cold. I bet from yesterday. Mind you this was 8:30am today. A carafe of mimosas was $40 yes! We paid it because supporting minority owed businesses is important to me. We were also celebrating my granny 95th birthday. Best part was Sly, giving her a shoutout for her birthday. Tab over $160 for Garbage. Was told we would be compensated and received a $13 credit. Went here for my mother birthday because my sister said the food was great. The cook was so nice he greeted us at the door, my waitress was a sweet heart. The food was great. HOWEVER the owner is very arrogant. We came in with a cake to give to my mother with we simply wanted her to see it and take it home with her. We had no plans to open, cut, or eat the cake at his establishment. After we were told not to open it at the door or waitress told us she was told to watch us and make sure we don't open the cake. So this made us uncomfortable because we had already told him we had no plans of opening the cake. I took the cake outside so that we could enjoy our food in peace and not have our table SHARK TANKED the entire visit! He told me as I walked out it is policy and that fine but if it was so big of an issue he should have had us take it back when we walked in to the establishment.
