    Club House Sandwich

Solid. I mean it's Langers, my review will not affect this institution. But yes I loved my club and I would def go back. I didn't get pastrami bc it's not really my fave when it's thick cut, but I know this place is known for best pastrami in town. Service is very nice and it's a cute place!! I also bought a mouse pad haha! Take metro there!

If I could give 10 stars, I would. People weren't joking when they said their only regret was not trying this place sooner. It was an incredibly remarkable experience. The meat melts in your mouth and has remarkable flavor. It's not too salty, it's perfect. I tried the 44 and the 19 and the 19 was the best. The harmony of the ingredients in 19 was absolutely spectacular. The service was wonderful. I also really loved the old fashioned interior.

The only regret I have is not coming here sooner this place is incredible. You have to park your car up the street which you get an hour and a half complementary when you come in that's more than enough time to see all the beautiful sandwiches starting with the number 44 the Reuben the number 28 which looks just delicious but I had to go world famous number 19 the hand cut hot pastrami, coleslaw, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, double baked rye bread and a crunchy dill pickle Spear I couldn't believe I hadn't been here sooner. This place is literally one of the most beautiful things you could see in this area. Don't pass up the chance to try the pastrami chili cheese fries either. There's too many good things. I ate my sandwich so fast it almost evaporated.

I've ordered from here through delivery apps before, but I dined in for the first time today. It definitely tastes better when it's fresh out of the kitchen! There's a parking lot on 7th and Westlake just for Langer's and it's validated for 90 minutes. This was plenty of time for us on a weekday at lunch time. It's a block away from the restaurant, but just be cautious of your surroundings. I got the #19 pastrami with Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing on rye bread. The pastrami is so tender and juicy. Nice thick cuts layered on top of each other. The cole slaw goes right on top of the pastrami and balances out the heavy and juicy pastrami. The rye bread is soft in the center, but the crust has a very crispy crunch. Best pastrami I've ever had.

YUM- took my parents and they said this is the best pastrami they've ever had (fries were really good too). I LOVED how soft the bread was and the pastrami was so tasty Parking lot validates

Langer's came highly recommended by just about every food influencer on Instagram. Since I don't always trust the hype, I figured I'd check it out for myself. The first thing that stood out was the location. It's definitely not the polished, picture-perfect side of LA that many visitors expect. Walking from the parking lot, you're met with a mix of body odor, urine, and sewer smells. If you can get past that short walk, you're in for a much better experience once you step inside. We were told to expect a long wait, but fortunately there was no line when we arrived and we were seated right away. The restaurant itself has a classic, vintage deli feel that's part of its charm. It was clean, busy, and surprisingly well organized. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and able to answer all of our questions about the menu. We ordered the famous #19 pastrami with coleslaw and the #44 grilled pastrami with sauerkraut. There were four of us dining, and the group was split right down the middle--two preferred the #19, while my friend and I thought the #44 was the winner. Either way, it's safe to say the sandwiches are excellent and there's likely an option that will appeal to everyone. The prices were also more reasonable than I expected. The pastrami was perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and sliced generously. Every bite lived up to the reputation. Overall, Langer's is a very solid deli and absolutely worth trying for the food alone. My only real drawback is the surrounding area. I didn't feel particularly comfortable outside the restaurant, although that may simply be because I'm not used to that part of LA. Once inside, however, the experience was enjoyable and the food definitely delivered on the hype.

The #19; as close to perfect as sandwiches can be.

I've always questioned "nippy cheese". What is it? What makes it "nippy"? Langer's is known for their best-in-the-west sublime-tasting pastrami, but on a whim we got their grilled Nippy cheese. We got the grilled nippy cheese on sourdough -- the bread is our only deviation from what a standard grill cheese sandwich is supposed to be: kraft singles on white-as-hayull bread, grilled to a golden brown, in butter, on a scorching-hot, flat cooking surface. The grilled nippy cheese here is the platonic ideal of what a grilled cheese sandwich should be. 1) The sandwich had the perfect golden-hued grilled color. 2) The cheese inside was the perfect ooey-gooey consistency. 3) The ration of bread to cheese was perfect. What was most surprising was the fact that this "nippy cheese" is from Kraft. Apparently, Nippy Cheese is what American cheese was called in the 1900s. This sandwich was so good I had to ask about the cheese. I expected the cheese to be some special-ass processed cheese-food from some specialty niche vintage supplier in Wisconsin. Nope! When a cashier asked, the cook said it was Kraft (Kraft singles is the only cheese appropriate for a standard grilled cheese sandwich, FYI) What this means is this sandwich was prepared perfectly. Whoever made this sandwich knows their stuff. I highly recommend Langer's grilled nippy cheese if pastrami ain't your thing.

I'm from out of work and was with a group that really wanted to try this place. I was really surprised that a deli had pescatarian options. We went around 11am and there wasn't a line yet, but by 11:30am it started to get busier and there was a small line. The staffing, service and efficiency were on point. Our server, Kevin, was nice and took good care of us. I ordered the lox, egg & onion scramble with a side of potatoes. It seems like most people come here for lunch and, obviously, for the meat. My meal was fairly bland. I did get a side of the house green salsa and that helped. It was definitely not up to the same level as the pastrami though. I personally wouldn't come back myself, but I would go if someone I was with really wanted to come. Overall, this seems like a great place. They have their own parking lot across the street, they have their operation down to a T, and they really nail the things people come there for. I appreciate that they have alternative options, but I would try something different next time. Maybe their other scrambles or their French toast would be better.

    ##19 On Rye Full Sandwich

What can I say about Langer's Deli that hasn't already been said? It's a true LA landmark that serves some of the best pastrami in the country. Every time I visit, I order the #19: thick, hand-cut pastrami piled high on double-baked rye bread that's soft inside with a perfectly crunchy crust. It comes with Russian dressing and housemade slaw. The combination is absolutely outstanding. I'm also a big fan of their pastrami chili fries. The chili is perfectly seasoned and pairs beautifully with the chopped pastrami and melted cheddar cheese. My only real complaint has nothing to do with the restaurant itself. The location across from MacArthur Park is rough. You'll see drug addicts in zombie-like states right outside the windows and open drug deals happening on the street. It's a very sad scene and a stark reminder of how much Los Angeles has declined. I really wish city leaders cared more about cleaning it up. That said, if you've never had Langer's pastrami, it's absolutely worth the trip. It's one of the best sandwiches I've ever had.

    Yusuf S.

Hands down the best pastrami sandwich I've had in California. The meat was perfectly seasoned, juicy, stacked high, and packed with flavor in every bite. The bread was fresh and toasted perfectly. And the chili fries were absolutely amazing ,loaded, crispy, and seriously addictive. The customer service was top tier and the whole place had a great vibe. Also, FYI for anyone coming here: they do have parking! Go a bit up the street at the light Just park, grab a ticket, and the restaurant validates it so your parking is free. Definitely worth the visit and I'll 100% be coming back.

Simply the best deli in Los Angeles. The rye bread is so fresh and the matzo balls so light and flavorful. Service is good and the old school deli feel is delightful. A half sandwich and soup is plenty of food. Parking is easy and free.

It was my first time going at this 79 year old place. Saw it on a show "Lincoln Lawyer". It is a classic and iconic place. Order #19. There most famous pastrami sandwich. It was sooo good! I had it with there recommended bread which was Rye. They have other options such as egg bread and sourdough. So many options to choose from. They have breakfast items as well which is served all day! Staff is super friendly and personable. The ambiance is classic and historical. The vibe is friendly and it seems like a lot of locals come in to enjoy their favorite items.

    Aron N.

The #19. Recommended all over the place. Langer's claiming to be as good as Kats or Carnegie both of whom I've been too. Unfortunately since I didn't see what the #19 looked like before I ordered; I believe it definitely jaded me. First off, the location is terrible. Look it's probably me, but it felt dangerous. I guess I am not used to places like that. Just everything made me feel uneasy while walking to Langer's. I read that the owner is talking to the mayor to address things.... In any case, I got in, got out and took my #19 to another location. I opened it up and it didn't look like any NYC pastrami sandwich I have ever seen. I guess this is the way it used to be before the NYC sandwiches started getting ridiculously huge? I took a bite and I did like the crusty rye bread. Unlike a lot of NYC places where the bread is just to hold the meat, this one was toasty and tasty. However when I ate this sandwich, the coleslaw and Russian dressing dominated the taste. Was it good? Yes. Was it the "one" sandwich to eat if you are in Los Angeles? I don't think so. I guess we are so jaded with huge pastrami or fancy new sandwiches that this just seems so underwhelming. Add to the hyperbole about it being THE ONE to get and it just falls flat in the comparison. It's a good sandwich and if I ate for the last 30 years, I'd probably feel the hype was justified.
