Tasty, refreshing, and can be perfect with breakfast! Customer Service | Wildly friendly & attentive! Popular | Popular! There is usually a long line for breakfast! Simply go inside, asked to put your name on the list and enjoy waiting inside or outside and enjoy the view of the beach/scenery! Inside | It's quite the spacious restaurant! The skillet itself wasn't really my favorite, so I only managed to get halfway through it at most, which was a bit of a bummer. The Biscuits N' Gravy, on the other hand, were absolutely delicious!! I immediately devoured those lol. I think if I came back, I'd definitely try something else, perhaps something from the Combos section. Still, the staff was nice :)

Asked a local about where to find such a place, he immediately mentioned Jack's, which I followed up on. At a place like this, you sit at the counter, no questions asked, and I wonder why they even have another option. For the rookies, I guess. Only drawback was that they don't have water. Bottled water, sure, but no tap water. It's an island, I get it, but everywhere else has water offered. And, for what came to a $30 breakfast (without a drink), yeah, water might be a nice token. Regardless, glad I came, but in a city as unique as Avalon, I'll continue to diversify my breakfast options next time...

I also had to chase down someone just to get water and I was made to feel like a burden for asking for it. When we did order food and drinks we headed to the self order section and ordered at the bar. The bartender told us he would find us, but 15 minutes went by and then 30. Both times we went back up to the bar to ask about the food and we were told it was coming. Drinks were okay, expensive for what they are. Overall, what they present online is not reflective of the actual experience here, and it is still very expensive. I probably wouldn't prioritize coming here again.

It wasn't busy as it was during the week, and we found a table on the patio. Mr. B ordered a flight to try and we ordered a pineapple jalapeno pizza. I know many say pineapple doesn't belong on a pizza, but we happen to like it. The crust of the pizza was thin and covered in melted cheese, chunks of pineapple and slices of jalapeno. It was the perfect amount of spice and the pineapple calmed it down by adding a hint of sweetness. The beer was great, the pizza even better and you just can't beat the views of the bay. Service was good, and we were off to a good start of eating on Catalina Island.

Sometimes on quiet days in town there is a wait because the cashier is also responsible for preparing the food/drinks, but it's always reasonable. The prices are very fair, they do not hit you with the "mountain tax" at all. The drip coffee is tasty and the espresso is good as well! I haven't had the pastries yet but they look good, especially the donuts, and I'm excited to come back and taste them. Today I had the breakfast burrito, the cashier was very helpful and accommodating of some recent dietary restrictions I have developed, and she made me a great burrito! I swapped out the bacon for avocado (not normal for me, but like I said, dietary restrictions) and it was just as good as with bacon! My burrito has avocado, eggs, hash browns and tomatoes, and it was exactly what I needed. Good to note that the only bread option is sourdough, however, it is very tasty homemade and fresh sourdough, which is quite the treat. Unfortunately, not for me today, but I have enjoyed it in the past. I usually get to go and drive up the hill to picnic with a view, but I'm looking forward to eating in one day. That atmosphere is very cozy and calm, both the inside and the patio are nice. Speaking of atmosphere, I was happy to see many pride and pro LGBTQ flags in the restaurant, helping foster a welcoming environment for all. TLDR - 1. Good food , good coffee , very fair prices. I grabbed the buffalo cheeseburger with bacon and avocado. My friends Wanted the buffalo chile but they were sold out so they tried the BLT sandwich. The Killer cookies looked so tempting! There was a lot of merchandise to look around. There was really nice indoor space and a scenic outdoor seating space. I also got to see some small private planes land and takeoff as i was eating. Very unique experience. The food was delicious. Highly recommended. Above all else the staff were so nice. Please come and create your own adventure.

The drive up to the airport was beautiful. We got to see the nature and back country of Catalina Island. Plus we got to check off the Airport in the Sky restaurant off of our small airport diners list. Once we got to the airport, we took a look around and decided to take off on a hike. The weather was perfect and the hike was beautiful. As we rounded a corner we looked up and off on a nearby hill was a buffalo just grazing. After the hike we went back to the restaurant and ordered our lunch. Mr. B had a nice cold beer and I chose an iced tea. He ordered a burger and I was in the mood for diner food, so a grilled cheese and fries for me. The burger was great. Stuffed with onion, crispy bacon, a juicy burger and topped with avocado. The fries were like steak fries and were hot and yummy. My grilled cheese was delicious. The bread was nicely toasted and the cheese was melted and gooey, just the way a grilled cheese should be. We sat on the patio, and watched pilots come and go, hiker's come and go. Small tour vans bring guests for a short time to grab a cold drink come and go. It was sunny and beautiful on the patio. We chose a Killer Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookie to go. We walked over and watched planes take off and land while eating our cookie before our shuttle van was back to take us down to Avalon. We booked the shuttle through Catalina Conservancy which was a better option than a tour van or taxi. Just note, it can be pricey to get up and back and then add a meal on top of it, so be prepared. But it was well worth the trip, and the hike was fabulous.
