So I came to Hank with a project jeep I've been building with my 16yo daughter for her first car. She wanted to have her red jeep changed to a dark Forrest green. Hank was super patient with her and provided numerous paint cards with like 500 different shades of green for her to choose from. Due to the jeep being 23 years old, it had some minor dings dents and holes drilled into the body from the previous owner. Hank had all the holes welded closed, body lines on point, and pulled all the dents out. He and his team worked very hard to meet a (camping/offroading) deadline and had my daughter's jeep back as promised in time (which was Christmas Eve). His crew did a flawless job and even installed steel tube front and rear fenders, rock rails, new headlights and new taillights. Seeing the 'new look' on the Jeep nearly made her cry from excitement and disbelief of how good her Jeep now looks. Hank was super reasonable on the price and could have easily charged me ALOT more for the amount of work he and his team completed. If you're in the Southbay area or the surrounding nearby areas and are looking for an honest, reliable, accommodating and reasonably priced Autobody shop, you should definitely check his shop out. read more

So this is a mix review for me I consider the experience to a little annoying there was some miscommunication. 1st thing was he did not answer the phone on the day the car was scheduled to be done which is fine just let me know so therefore I was unable to get a rental car at the last minute. 2nd I did not ask him if he took Visa or debit card payments at his business cuz I just assumed he did so that means at the last minute after 5:30 p.m. on a Monday I was unable to get the car , keep in mind the car was scheduled to be fixed by Friday which is understandable but he doesn't communicate effectively so I could make the necessary adjustments since I have physical limitations . 3rd he lets me know he only takes cash so I had to find somebody to bring me to a bank so I can get a cashier's check but the work is done and that's all I can say. It was an out-of-pocket expense because I was trying to be cheap due to covid-19 last year so I change my insurance from the 500 deductible that i had initially had to 1,000 and I forgot to change it back in January so that part is my fault cuz I had to pay $1,000 out of pocket. But don't think you're going to complain to him cuz he will remind you that he's doing you a favor LOL so I just kept it light gave him his money and got my car. read more

I was in search of a quality auto body shop to repaint the cargo bed cover on my late father's truck, and after several estimates from other shops, I found Hank's shop on yelp and after meeting with Hank, and sharing with him him how sentimental my father's truck is to me, he explained how the cover became faded, and the quality products he use that could restore the cover. Choosing Elite Auto Body was the best decision. Hank gave me the best estimate price from all the other shops, was very professional, and the end result was perfect. Not only did they restore the cover to look new, the paint on the cover matches the truck perfectly, and due to someone trying to break into the cargo bed before, they bent the metal rod that keeps the bed closed, so it wouldn't close all the way down, so Hank also fixed that for me as well to my surprise. Everything was done in the exact amount of time that I was quoted on, and the guys also washed the truck for me before I left. I am so thoroughly pleased with the work Hank did on my baby! I went to 3 different places for estimates (including the Maaco 2 blocks away). Hank offered the best estimate by far of the three places. For me personally, I can't tell the difference between an original factory part and an after market part, I just wanted the car to look presentable. Hank gave me both as options and so I opted to save money and go with after market parts. I could care less about resale value...it's a prius and I'm going to drive it till it croaks and then buy another prius. JESUS H. CHRIST did Hank save me some money... Every step of the way Hank would text or call me to let me know the status of my car and give me little extras along the way. I'd say Hank threw in about $500 worth of either labor/parts for free. Things that I didn't even ask to be fixed he threw in for free. The original estimate did not change at any point after repair. I felt bad at one point and offered to pay for a part that turned out to be more expensive than he estimated. He refused! In all, Hank and his crew: replaced my damaged front fender and right headlight (from an accident), about 8 dings and 5 long scratches (from years of parking on the angry streets of L.A.), resealed my windows (the rubber molding had started to come off), repainted the rear tail (for some reason the paint started to wear there faster than the rest of the car), and removed and straightened out the metal molding on the bottom of the passenger's side (scraped my car badly on a curb trying to park at a meter). The car looks phenomenal. Hank is such an HONEST guy. I swear to God he did NOT have to fix a lot of the stuff he did because I hadn't even mentioned it during the original estimate. The paint looks unreal; exactly the way it did when it came off the dealer's lot. I was so impressed with his workmanship that we got to talking about his experience. Turns out, this humble guy...was once the #1 go-to repair guy for the Southern California BMW association, and I can now see why. Hank is easy-going, down to earth and really skilled at what he does. He is friendly, kind and his employees like him (the sign of a good boss). In the three times I visited his shop, while waiting I noticed that the customers who came in to drop off/pick up their cars were ALL return customers. It seemed less like a car shop and more like an open house for friends and family. I mean, literally every customer that swung by the shop was on a first name basis and 2 things were fairly obvious: that they considered him a friend and that he was 100% trustworthy. This is a serious chop shop! Do not take your car here especially if you care about the quality of work that you receive. My car was hit in an accident. I took it here based on a referral from an associate who also had their car repaired here. I met with the owner and was assured that they would take care of the repairs and a few other repairs that needed to be fixed. Insurance cut a check to take care of this. Sounded great right? Wrong!!!! It took them three times as long to fix my car than what I was originally told and the work was very shoddy. Also, the other repairs that we discussed fixing were not fixed. The worst part of this all is that this car was a lease and when the dealer received my car back at the end of the term they did not honor the poor work this shop did. So I had to pay out of pocket for that as well. Even if this place is your last resort, don't go here!!!! You've been warned. read more

I took my car to Hank for body work a couple of years ago. It was an $800 job and though the paint match wasn't perfect, I felt it was good enough for the money, considering the insurance shop wanted $1,300 for the job. So when I got a small ding and scratch on the rear side, I went back to Hank. I asked him to just pull the small dent out and put some touch up paint on it. He told me I should really paint the whole side for it to look it's best but we agreed for him to do what I asked, and if I wasn't happy I'd come back and pay him to paint the whole side. My car is older and I may not keep it a lot longer. I make my living with my car so it's very difficult for me to give it up even for a few days, so I when I went on vacation I left the car with him telling him I'd be back in 12 days and offered to have someone come get it earlier if it was in his way. He said no problem. I came back 13 days later to pick it up and it had not been fixed. Hank argued with me that I had not been gone for 12 days and I assured him that I had. He continued to argue that I wasn't, while looking for my paperwork. He finally found it and said that it wasn't 12 days, there were only 29 days in August. What? When I proved that Aug has 30 days he then said that it was only a $200 job and wasn't really worth his time, it wasn't a priority, and they were planning to get to it this weekend. I said, "why didn't you charge me what it was worth then, or call me and tell me you couldn't get to it in 2 weeks, or just acknowledge that you made a mistake and mixed up the days? We're all human, right? But instead, he acted like a jerk, remained defensive, kept arguing with me about the days, saying the job wasn't really worth it to him, that he loses money on some jobs, but he does it because he's proud of his work. What? Why are you telling me that you're a terrible business man and what does that have to do with anything? Then said to me, "relax! you're acting like it's the end of the world or something." Bottom line is that if he had just been a professional and said, "I'm sorry, I mixed up the days, when can I fix it, how can I make up for it, we could have had a reasonable adult discussion, figured out a resolution, I'd be a happy customer, and give him repeat business. When I asked for my car, he tells me they need to clean it because my floor mats are dirty from his workers dirty feet on them. How about putting paper on the floor mats before you put your greasy feet on them. If you are looking for cheap work and not concerned about professionalism, honesty, organization etc. then go there. But there are plenty of other inexpensive auto body shops out there. I'd look around. read more

hey guy beware of this autobody shop. recently i have car accident i brought my car here for fixing they kept my car for 2.5 months without finished it but they cashed out money from my insurance already. they kept my car in the body shop more than a month and doing nothing with my car until i filed a complaint with bureau of automotive repair they sent officer out to elite autobody and they promised to give the car back within a week. after one week my car was not ready for my to pick it up. engine light turn on, engine shaking, alot of this going one to my bmw .i brought my bmw to bmw specialist for diagnostic the problems they found out there is a missing screw from the oil pain that Elite autobody replaced the oil pan for my car but they were missing one screw to let it open that is why my car shaking because oil and air are leaking. i need to refilled the oild every 2-3 wks. now they refused to look at my specialist diagnostic elite autobody want me to bring my car to dealer for another diagnostic cost me $175 +$270 from bmw specialist. now they dont want to pay those diagnostics to me. i will filed a complaint to the BAR angain to get my money back. hey guys out there beaware of this place, they just want ur money they dont responsible for ur vehicle. read more
