I provided my physical insurance card to your front desk, explicitly asked for verification based on that plan, and was told more than once that your office and the treating provider were in-network. After receiving a significantly higher-than-expected bill, I contacted Cigna directly. During that call -- which occurred shortly after the appointment -- a Cigna representative and I searched their system for Dr. Abigail Nye. At the time, she was not listed under any Cigna network. Not just for my plan -- she simply did not appear in their provider system at all. Now, after the fact, Dr. Nye appears in Cigna's directory -- but only under the Total and Total Plus plan networks. She is still not listed under Cigna DPPO Advantage, which is the plan I have. Yet your office's own PDF -- linked on your website -- explicitly lists "Cigna DPPO Advantage Dentist" under accepted in-network plans. That was part of what influenced my decision to book with your office. The issue here is not just confusion over plan names. It's about negligent misrepresentation. I presented my insurance card, asked your staff to verify network status for my specific plan, and was assured that I was covered. Cigna's billing and coverage records -- both then and now -- do not support that assurance. I was billed at out-of-network rates because the provider was not, and is still not, in-network for my plan. Even if your network affiliations have since changed, that does not retroactively justify what happened at the time of my appointment. Patients have a legal and ethical right to rely on what they're told by a provider's staff when verifying coverage. If I had been informed honestly that the provider wasn't in-network, I would have made a different decision. This situation has caused avoidable financial harm, and I've submitted documentation to the appropriate regulatory authorities. The inconsistency between what your staff communicated, what your website claimed, and what Cigna confirmed is not acceptable. Your website says advantage dentists and I have a ppo advantage plan. Your desk people literally took my card twice and assured me I was covered, intentional or not if it wasn't untrue, that doesn't excuse it from being a point of negligent misrepresentation. This truly is a clear cut small claims case. As well as I have transcripts of the call logs with Cigna dental. Whether or not the dental board wants to waste their time with it is one thing but that doesn't mean that what I'm saying is incorrect. In fact I have a feeling a small claims court would see otherwise.

The staff are amazing, and allow me to book appointments via email which is much more convenient for me. The doctors here are so wonderful and helpful. They go above and beyond to help your mouth stay comfortable and healthy. The hygienists are all so great and kind. I kept receiving bills for other family members that have the same last name, but we have our own households and insurance. They once tried to get me to pay someone else's bill after my appointment. I had to explain to them, again, that we have separate insurances and households. My last appointment in JUNE was apparently done by an out of network doctor, but at this clinic. It was a regular cleaning and 100% insurance covered. I received a voicemail from North Washington dental on Oct 17th that I owe them $$. I called back and they said my insurance sent me the check instead of them, and multiple times they told me I cashed this check. I explained over and over I didn't receive any check. Called my insurance and they told me the claim was still open and they'll send me a check. However, North Washington sent a dept collector, but they messaged my parents and had my father's name on there. My parents were confused why they would owe money to a dentist they no longer go to. I called the dentist and tried to explain that the voicemail from OCTOBER was the ONLY communication I received about this situation. They insisted they reached out many times. Maybe they did, but it wasn't to me. Today I finally received the insurance check and went to the dentist to pay. They still charged me a fee (late fee I'm guessing? ) she didn't explain why, even though I told her again that I JUST received the check from insurance. Very frustrated with how everything was handled.

They told me I have a whole bunch of little cavities between my teeth, will likely need to crown a tooth that has a bigger filling on it, and that they want to seal my grooves because they are "deep." They were so nice I didn't think about it that day but after a few days I realized I've been going to the dentist once a year my whole life and no dentist has ever said I have deep grooves or needed to crown my tooth. I decided to get a second opinion at Mountain Range Dentistry. They are out of network for me but I was willing to pay the price for a second opinion. My dentist told me my grooves are normal, my filling is good and he wouldn't crown my tooth. This is more in line with what I've heard. He said sealing my grooves is unnecessary. I cancelled my follow up with Appletree immediately. I like my dentists to be conservative in their practice. Just be wary.

I went in for a cleaning and to ask about a possible cracked tooth causing sensitivity pain. They…read moretook full mouth x-rays and stated I had two lower cracked/broken teeth that they could fill for me reasonable priced. I agreed only to relieve some of my pain and sensitivity. The doc tried to numb up my lower jaw - TWICE - as there must have been exposed nerves and I nearly came out of my seat. After the doc drilled, he left the tech to do the rest. It was prolonged pain, after numbing!! It was brutal. She told me I needed to use sensitive toothpaste, do not rinse, leave it on my teeth overnight for an extended period of time. It has been 5 days and my pain has increased 5x! I cannot sleep, I cannot eat, I cannot get through a work day without 800 mg of ibuprofen. I called, all the gal said is you have to come back..... I am in so much pain after the first cost and procedure, it was suppose to "fix" my issue, my pain is nearly unbearable into my ear, down my neck, my mouth broke out in sores, I just can't go back with any confidence. She said if I tried going to urgent care they would tell me go go back, there was nothing more she could do. :( Devastated!
