I would have also had him do a second tank for for my MIL's apartment but he wasn't available because he was attending a national plumbing conference. ( I like that he continues to keep himself educated about what is going on in his field.) Since I had to go with someone else, he told me exactly what to ask for and what to expect to pay including a part that would extend the life of my new hot water tank. The company I went with initially didn't want me to add that part to the sale but I insisted. This year when he came to fix an issue with that tank which was still under warranty, not only did he deal with the warranty people which I really appreciated, I was also able to see first hand how that part the he suggested had save my tank from potential damage by collecting small metal fragments that could have ended up in the actual tank. He adds this standard on any installation of this kind of tank. To me that shows the honesty and integrity he works with. There is no doubt in my mind that he takes pride in the work he does. So the job required a plumbing contractor to create an entirely new plumbing system for a shower, tub, toilet and double vanity. And to make it even more difficult, our floors are solid, so the piping and electrical systems all had to be in the bedroom and closet below the new bathroom. It was an intricate system of pipes and valves and who-knows-what in two rooms on two floors. After the initial conversation with Jay, it was clear we had found the very best plumbing contractor imaginable. He was meticulous in his work, a creative problem-solver, has an encyclopedic knowledge of the art and science of plumbing, and is one of the very best customer service professionals I have ever worked with. At every step of the way, he explained what he was doing and why, worked closely with the general contractor and electrician, cleaned up after himself, and made sure we were 100% satisfied with every element he worked on. The final bathroom is spectacular, and we would never use another plumber. Ever. But Jay deserves even more kudos than that. Most of the times he came to our house over the 5-6 weeks of construction, he brought an apprentice. He was a polite young man, and very eager to learn. And it was inspiring listening to Jay teach his craft. The apprentice wasn't a lackey getting coffee or just watching; Jay took the time to carefully instruct him how and why he was doing what he was doing. It would have been far easier to do it all himself, but that would have provided little value to his apprentice. I enjoyed listening to him provide instruction when I could hear them talking. It was real proof of just how much Jay cares about people, and loves what he does. He's a rare find.

Monday morning, Called them two more times being reassured each time he would get right back to me in 15 minutes. 2 hours later I receive a text from him that he wouldn't be at my house for another 2-3 days. NO warning. NO apology. But since I wasn't a high volume customer I was simply dismissed. Chris at Armstrong oil saved my house and its water pipes and was there in 5 minutes even though he had never serviced my house before!

Two hours door-to-heat. No upsell, no pressure, reasonable cost, and very clear communication throughout. This is a professional operation that values doing the right thing over running the meter.

I spoke to the manager and the person who booked the service and they said they spoke to the tech and the tech said that he did disclose. He did not. He even stepped out of my home for a full 45 min and said the piece he needed would not be charged. I was irrate about the situation and was told they would follow up. They did not up until 3 weeks later. They said they would follow-up with an agreement and they did not. I waited for said phone call and when trying to deal with the situation again, the manager pit me on hold bc I was irrate about repeating the situation again and told me I had agreed to a payment plan, when I did not. Then she said she would send my things to collections because they did not want to deal with my tone nor my situation. I was already upset at the fact they charged more and did not disclose fully what was being done as far as pricing . When the tech finished, I asked him if the price would be what was disclosed when I first made the appointment and he said yes. And then I was billed an extra 500 and some change. I normally would like to work out a plan but they kept me waiting and we're not being truthful about their pricing and work . Please if you do boom with them, ask them to disclose everything and press on disclosing pricing. Joann and Debbie were not very clear on pricing and then would place me on hold or hang up. I waited for 3 weeks for a follow up and all I got was text about a past due bill and when I followed up, they still did not want to hear anything I said because I was raising my voice. Well I was upset after being ignored, not helped and they were deceitful of their pricing. The tech lied and when I said ask the other tech, she placed me on hold and did not want to help. Yes I was upset because thats not how you do business and leave people waiting for a follow up. I never disclosed nor agreed to a payment plan. Joann was supposed to call me back to work something out and she never did . And when I brought that up, she told me that " i should be grateful, work was done at my house." No. I would have been grateful if you guys would have been upfront about pricing when I was asking about everything being done and not blindsided by a bigger bill, no follow up and the condescending tone of your office. Now they are sending ny bill to collections all because I wanted a detailed disclosure and better service for this incident. Please be aware when doing business with them.

The tech (Ken) showed up as expected and was very helpful. He was able to address the issue I was having and also tuned the furnace. It was installed a year and a half ago and it runs more smoothly now than it did new. I was extremely happy to have Ken work on my furnace and will be a repeat customer with American Heating!
