I had some time to kill during my first visit to Artesia, and luckily found Elite Nail Bar was nearby. I gave them a quick call and they said I could come for a manicure when I requested an appointment in an hour. They were very sweet and welcoming when I walked in. The salon itself seems to need a little help in terms of cleanliness and design. It was July and they still had Christmas decorations up. It also looked like the air conditioning was connected to the door with cardboard. I got a gel manicure ($29) with cat eye polish (additional $15) and an eyebrow wax ($8). All in all, it's a great value. They only accept cash, Zelle, Venmo, or cashapp. And tips are cash only! They don't seem to have OPI gel colors which I find to be the best that last. So, we'll see how long this manicure lasts. But for the price, I'm okay with it. read more

No appointment today but they also had the place quite empty and the manager allowed me to receive the pedicure service. Right away, I felt some regret but decided to stay. the set up inside was little bit odd. The chairs are all regular wing style velvet covered, kind of a worn out. All were placed on an elevated platform, (another inconvenient feature for my poor knees) with regular bathroom sinks serving as the foot "bath." No massage chairs, no foot spa. The saving grace for that was the nail technician. She was very good with the work done, and included a hot stone massage. So I only recently got into getting my nails done and have been going to this popular nail salon in Koreatown off of the recommendation of a friend. Sadly, after calling to make an appointment last weekend Iwas told the girl I usually go with no longer works there. And since Koreatown is not exactly on my way home from work and the nail salon is pretty pricey, I decided to look for places closer to home to try out. I was looking through Yelp when I discovered Elite Nail Bar. After seeing all the photos of the complicated designs they've done here, I knew this was where I had to go. I already had a Christmas- themed design in mind when I walked in on Sunday afternoon. The host was very accommodating in scheduling me an appointment if I didn't have the time to wait then. I decided to wait and it wasn't long before they started working on me. I showed them my design and they had one girl do the base colors and then had Vi do my designs. Vi was great with implementing the design I wanted! My gel manicure with design was $45 total plus tip, which is so much more affordable compared to what I would have had to pay at the koreatown salon I was previously going to. So I am super excited to have discovered this place, because of how convenient it is to be going to a nail salon closer to home AND because of how much more affordable a design gel manicure is. My one complaint so far though would be that their manicure dryer machines or whatever they're called don't seem to be so great, at least in comparison to the equipment used at the nail salon I previously went to. I say that because not long after leaving the nail bar, the gel polish on two of my nails already got messed up, and it was supposed to have already been dry prior to my leaving the salon. Luckily I was able to go in the next day and they fixed it free of charge- I was told they have a one week warranty because sometimes the gel machines don't always work properly, so clearly this is an issue they are aware of. I was the only one being serviced (Just the way I like it). Amy did my gel manicure, and the older gentleman did my pedicure. Amy did a great job with my nails. Loved my ombre glitter nails. As far as the guy who did my pedicure, he was a bit rough when cutting my cuticles. I've had nail technicians cut so much of my cuticle that I bled, so I am always alert and on guard when getting pedicures. Luckily, he didn't cut me, but be kept going back to cut more. I just left this place - and I definitely won't be back. I usually go to Polish and really regret coming here today. First off, I enter and am barely acknowledged. Once I get someone's attention to get a gel manicure, I'm seated with a man and who quickly pulls out a file. No offer of drinks, like everyone else who came in after me. I sit down and there's no hot water soak for my hands, which is the first time I've ever not gotten this in 10 years of getting regular manicures. Then, the man proceeds to cut every single finger on my left hand. Every. Single. One. I point this out, he says a brief "sorry" and sprays acetone all over. This stings like hell, tears rolling down my face, and he doesn't care. Each time he looks at my hand, he seems upset that there's blood streaming down my fingers and he needs to deal with it. At the end, I point all this out to the person who seems to be the owner. He says "that's weird" and asks me what he can do to make it better. I leave it up to him, and he decides 15% ($3.75, which he makes a point to tell me that he is rounding up to $4) off is sufficient for this absolutely horrific experience. Then I noticed A LOT of bubbles on the polish on my toes! I don't live close to this place and even though the business owner was quick to resolve my problem still inconvenient for me to go back! I was lookin for a new nail salon after not getting my nails done for about 4months. Elite Nail Bar is super clean and all of the staff are so kind and welcoming. With that being said... I paid $83 for gel pedicure and ombré gel nails on a full acrylic set. It seemed a little pricy in my opinion but try nails did come out great. The reason why I'm giving it 4stars and not 5 is because of my actual nails. I have a problem that I asked my nails to be done in full ombré acrylic NOT gel acrylic but she put clear acrylic before I could say anything and I didn't want to be "that" customer. I do wish though that I spoke up because I wanted my nails to be more vibrant with just acrylic. I'm excited to see how long these nails can last without lifting/chipping! read more

I walked in ay 5:00 with a friend and there were two technicians open yet it takes 15 minutes for them to start. We're both just sitting in our chairs while waiting for them. But that's another thing. My nails, I paid $46 not including tip for them to be uneven. The lady told me that my left hand is larger which is why, but that's not possible. And the difference in the width of the nail is obvious. I got the gel with dip and I was so excited but after today, never again. Got a nice message from the owner about how they can fix it! I always ask for Amy she will take care of you - she is very gentle, detailed and always does an amazing job. Everyone here is super nice and does quality work. Came in today with an appointment for a pedicure, Lani did an excellent job and I was overall very satisfied with my service. However upon getting home and 4 hours later, I noticed the nail polish on my toes was still not dry and that it was becoming messed up. Not particularly upset at all, as I overall enjoying my experience at this location I felt that I should give them a call to see if I could stop by and get them fixed, I mean I did pay $38 + tip. The (owner) male, I believe answered the phone and he was nice enough to ask that I come back and they would fix them - I obliged of course. Upon my return, my opinion of this place took a complete 180. The lady that helped me was rude about having to "fix" my nails and began speaking very fast and rudely in Vietnamese to her coworker about me. I got an organic dip powder gel manicure. 4 of my 10 nails were really short (they broke :(), this helped me keep my real nails and only had to get 4 acrylics (score for my nail health!) They didn't try and push me to get a full set but recommended only getting acrylics where I needed it. I was looking to get a white pink ombré and they didn't disappoint. I also got their signature pedicure. It was everything my feet and legs needed! I just started running daily so my feet needed the rejuvenation!
