I made an appointment and followed the directions to wait outside to be called and it had been 15 minutes past my appointment and other people who were not following the protocol were being serviced before me. The receptionist was very rude and gave lots of attitude. I got a gel pedicure and it was so rushed. My nails came off less than a werk later and they were poorly done as well. This is for Serena, the eyebrow threader from heaven! She is absolutely amazing! I don't know how she does it, but she gives me the perfect shape time and time again and in no time at all! If you're a virgin to threading, trust me when I tell you, she is the one to pop your cherry. You won't hardly feel a thing (or at least not for too long)... I wish everyone threaded as quickly as she does. She truly is a master of her craft. She's also very friendly and is always willing to give extra advice regarding maintenance or skin care. Love her! This nail salon is a huge disappointment. The facility is dirty and messy. When dealing with cutting cuticles I expect clean. I asked for a gel manicure, which I get regularly at my regular spot Elite Nails on Flamingo Road- woot woot! And the color selection was limited, and the evening of the mani, the polish started to bubble and by next day it chipped. Never happens with gel which is why you pay a premium. My regular place was booked and this is why I stopped here. Unfortunately the manager was not helpful. I asked for a credit so that I could come back for a redo . He said no, and no refund. I have to go back today and have it done today. I offered to stop by today but couldn't stay. He said sorry. I hope this helps. Wish I could leave negative stars. read more

This is my local nail salon and I have been coming here for about 5+ years. I like it here and mostly have good experiences.The place is extremely spacious and the decor is very hip. They have alcohol, food and soda available which is a plus. I usually enjoy a nice glass of wine when I am getting a pedicure. The pedicure chairs are divine and extremely comfortable. The technicians are usually good, I have gotten a few duds, my favorite technician is Sandy Lee. She is gentle and very good at what she does. A few things they need to work on is: 1) their appointment times. I have made several appointments and have shown up on time and I STILL have to wait. Get it together! When I make an appointment I don't mind waiting but please don't keep me waiting for 20+ minutes. Not cool. I've experienced this a handful of times. 2) The receptionist's attitudes. Sometimes when I call to make an appointment they are downright rude. I have let it slide because I enjoy coming here but one day someone is NOT going to be okay with it. 3) Their CONSTANT upselling. It's so annoying! Please don't ask me 5 times if I want my eyebrows done after I say no the first time. I understand the idea of upselling and usually don't mind it, but don't hound your customers - it just makes me feel uncomfortable. Overall, Elite Nails is an average nail salon. The spaciousness of this location and the readily available wine makes it up for me. If you are in the area and need to unwind, Elite Nails would be it. I paid $82 for a new set acrylic gel nails and gel pedicure and a glass of martini and Rossi. The gel polish cracked in less than a week I had to go back to get it fixed. After it was fixed on the house, the gel color isn't cracking but is now not as glossy and changing to a darker dirty color. I don't know what's going on, but do not waste your money getting the gel. I LOVE this place! My nail tech is Elaine & she is truly amazing! Very gentle, fast & extremely talented when it comes to nail designs. She makes up very pretty designs on the spot for me and always manages to incorporate my favorite colors/themes. The reviews that mention the customer service(or lack there of) are somewhat true. There are times when the receptionist is unattentive (or even rude) but then there are times when the person at the front desk is extremely helpful. Its kind of hit or miss. read more

Update to my 2017 review. Now being 2019, I can tell you that the service has declined and what I pay for mani/pedi is too much for the service given. I am only updating my review because since 2017 I have had my service performed by a regular I go to religiously; however, today I had to get my services from another tech, and let me tell you that I feel I paid for a rushed and lax service. Paying for a service that is supposed to be relaxing to feel otherwise is dissatisfying. I am not handed funds on a platter, I have to work hard to earn my pay, and I would expect that the techs should take this into account when providing a service. At this point, if my regular tech is going to be away more often than expected, I will look for a new location. There are plenty within the area, so shouldn't be that difficult. read more

Huge salon with nice decor. That's where the buck stops. Services are always rushed (especially Friday/Saturday) and I feel like a number walking in. Most of the techs have no personality and are rude. My biggest issue is the nail polish and the fact that it doesn't last. They dilute the polish with acetone which boggles my mind. Prices are a bit higher than most nail salons but you're paying for the location and ambiance. Unless you find a great tech that you like and bring in your own polish, go elsewhere! read more

I came in waited an hour and a half but it was busy but when they finally sat me down the lady started working on my nails, got up and walked away and started doing a pedicure!?!?!? He finishes up and I see that the color is patchy I wasn't happy but I was going to be late to my plans so I called after I left and asked if they could redo them and the lady told me yes but not today because they're busy so come back when I can and they'll fix it for me and I asked if I was going to be charged and she said it depends how much work needs to be done. So I finally came in today and showed them and the first thing the girl tells me is they're going to charge me normal price. Just left this place without receiving any nail services so my review is strictly based on the customer service received. This was my first time here and upon entering the establishment I wasn't even greeted let alone acknowledged. Wrote my name on the sign in sheet and the desired service and took a seat. I ended up waiting over an hour and a half before I decided to just leave AFTER they sat 2 customers that came in after me. Elite nails on University. Where do I begin? The name for starters is a joke. I went in there to save some time, and I ended up wasting my money and time because now I have to go home and do my nails myself. They absolutely are the worst! I cannot believe the level of service can be so low, and they have the audacity to charge $41 for a regular mani pedi. It's like they are a factory machine just rushing people out looks packages. The girl did not bother to file my nails on the sides, only the top. She didn't bother to remove my cuticle even when I asked her to. She didn't bother to paint my whole nail. Is this not expected? Who wants to get just the top of their nail filed and just the middle of their nail painted. Then she left a mess all over my nails. I tried to tell her a few times, but that did not change anything. I have been coming here for years. Quick service, close to my house, average prices, average mani/pedi.... Etc. I recently went to Toi Spa in Ft Lauderdale because I was in that area ( they have 3 locations in Broward) and had an amazing experience for the same price as Elite Nails. I came here today to get my quick mani/pedi and realized right when I sat down that I should have gone to Toi Spa. My tech did not do a good job AT ALL. She left paint around my nail, was rushing me to leave and did not make the coat dark enough so you can still see the white spots on my nail under the paint. I won't be coming here again, and I will gladly drive to Toi Spa's Ft Lauderdale location for the amazing experience. read more

I've visited this nail salon twice before to get my nails done and eyebrows threaded, and both visits were great. However, when I visited on Friday, November 10th I had a horrible experience. First, I asked the nail tech several times if she could do the design I wanted and she repeatedly said yes. She applied polish to my nails, but when it was time to do the design, I was told that she didn't know how to do it and that I would need to wait for 10 minutes so that another nail tech could do it. While waiting for a nail tech to do the design I went over to get my eyebrows threaded. The same lady has threaded my eyebrows twice and did a great job; however this time was a completely different story. She was on the phone while threading my eyebrows and ended up cutting the skin under one eyebrow and messing up the other eyebrow. After my eyebrows got messed up I went to the front to see if a nail tech was available to finish my nails but no one was available. I even left the nail salon for about an hour and returned, but no one was available so I ended up settling for the job the nail tech did (although it wasn't what I wanted when I visited this location). While leaving the salon, the greeter told me that I could come back anytime for the design, but I was disgusted by the entire experience and just decided not to waste anymore of my time. I paid for the below average services but didn't leave a tip. I definitely don't plan on going back in the future. read more

Worst place EVER!!!!! Stay away or get Out ... these people have no organization skills... they will sign you in and let you sit there for years. Extremely disappointed with my experience here. Jenny, the nail person I got made me feel rushed the entire time. She did not listen when I asked her to cut my toe nail because it grows into my toe. It looks like a beginner did my nails. They are not the same shapes. The paint job looks awful. I will never go here again and I don't recommend it to anyone who has been to a half way decent salon. NOT a "spa" experience. The "deluxe" pedi treatment was what I am used to when I don't get the deluxe, just a basic pedi and color change. She basically washed my feet, that was it. She left my hands covered in oil, didn't help place my shoes, move my things, wrapped my fingers loosely with tin foil and dripping with alcohol to take off my previous gels then hands me a set of colors to look through for my nails - which clearly was impossible to flip with the wraps on. The nails on my hands also still look dirty post nail job. I could go on and on about how sub-par this place is, but I will politely stop here. This is the only place I go to for my eyebrows. Ayman is the best eyebrow threader I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I have been going to her for 5 years and no one else. I got a mani and pedi and definitely enjoyed it and my nails were very nice. One day Ayman was not there and I needed my eyebrows done for my birthday celebration so I was told that Nina is great so I ignored my gut feeling of not doing it. It was painful and when she gave me the mirror she destroyed my eyebrows when I told her she looked at me crazy and then began plucking which made it even worse! I left in tears and Nina being a manager for the wax and threading section didn't care and still charged me even when I was angry and then started crying. Go for Ayman only for your eyebrows to be perfect. Stay away from Nina! I learned my lesson and will always call first. Overall the salon is beautiful and everyone is kind. I USED to love coming here for their signature 'mixer' foot scrub. Feet felt soft for weeks. I waited to do my feet here as I was traveling. Unfortunately the same care does not go into the 'relaxing' experience that should be had here. Other people tried to warn me but since I'm an out of towner, I nostalgically return for the scrub. So why today my nail tech tried to avoid the mixer scrub altogether!!! How?! Why?! I also think that places that are supposed to provide a relaxing experience should not speak amongst their co-workers in their native tongue. It is very off putting and unprofessional. It makes your client feel uncomfortable. I also didn't get my massage which I so badly needed. Everyone seated at the same time as me was called and serviced for their nail services, and/or waxing, yet I was still sitting. The chic at the counter even decided to soak her gel/shellac nails as well as someone else's at the same time. I had to go back to the counter to inquire as to why I was STILL waiting to be called, when people arriving after me were being serviced (albeit for a different type of service, but called upon nonetheless). I tried this Elite Nails after going to another with the same name but a different location in Pembroke Pines (a chain I'm supposing?) and being disappointed. I am very pleased with their services. The pedicure was very good, my technician (Linda) was very gentle, precise and friendly. You also get a complimentary beverage with a Deluxe Pedi (beer, wine, champagne, tea, soda or water), they also have all beverages for purchase. There was no pressure at any time to get more services which I have experienced at other nail spas. I decided to get my brows done also when I noticed person after person getting them done by Serena who does waxing and also threading.
