I am out visiting Barstow for work and was pleasantly surprised by this place. The serving size was more than enough, but WOW talk about taste! I got the banana macadamia protein shake and was blown away. Normally I feel that protein shakes either get that telltale, chalky kind of flavor or are waaaay over-sweetened to hide the taste. But this shake was delicious, the perfect balance of sweetness with the banana and nutty flavor and a hint of cinnamon. It also uses plant protein which is a huge win since I have a whey allergy. The Acai bowl tasted a little bit light, I am used to it with a little bit of a stronger flavor. The waffle had the right amount of crisp. The specialty smoothie tasted well made. Bad & Bougie - I asked for a surprise drink and with out hesitation was presented with this drink. Refreshingly sweet with a slight tartness. I was energized and wishing I had ordered a larger size! When you walk in you're hit with the smell of sewage. I was excited for a smoothie/ health place in town but this is not it. It's a Herbalife place. Everything is powder, water and ice. I ordered a peanut butter banana smoothie and was all powder. I got a free "tea" green tea, which tasted like once you drink your green tea and little bit left over on the bottom melts with the ice... that's what it tasted like. There was lots to choose from but we got a strawberry pina colada that came with a free tea. It was refreshing and healthy - just what we needed to fuel us for the rest of our drive! Located in the old Subway spot next to the Liquor Store in the Stater Bros Shopping Center. Smoothies were very refreshing and tasteful. Be advised, if you're going for the very sweet smoothies that you get at other stops, this might not be for you. But for me it was just what I preferred and liked. Not too sweet but not too bland neither. You taste the flavors and that's a plus for me. Maybe they can add more sweeteners if requested but I liked it the way it was made regularly.
