Look, I've been going to Elixir for about 2 decades. It's the little alley dive bar that could. It's a secret service industry destination. It's also home to one of the best burgers* in Sacramento. Oh, you saw the asterisk. Allow me to explain: it's one of the best burgers depending on who is making it. But when the right person is making it? It's the straightforward smash burger of your dive bar dreams. Plus it comes with fries and a ranch? Sign me the fuck up. Come for the burger. Stay for the miller high life and shots. Will return.

I can't believe I gave this place a four star due to a shitty bathroom. The bartendress with the jazzy yoga pants is a goddess. She truly thinks of everything. Just asked me if I wanted a to go lid for my ranch dressing side. Who remembers to do that? Wonder Woman does. I might be tipsy right now. Don't quote me. Also. Yummy pizza. Gigantic street tacos loaded with meat. The Best Sweet Potato Fries in this Town and Possibly The World No Definitely the World. nomnomnomnom. I love elixir.

After having a nice dinner at the Fish Face Poke Bar. Joe K. suggested we stop by at the Elixir for a drink, which was only a short walking distance away. Joe, my sister and my brother-in-law thought it was a great idea! None of us had ever been there before, but many Yelp friends have, and had good things to say about this quaint little dive bar. When we arrived, I noticed that one of our Yelp friends Angelo C was sitting at a patio table enjoying a drink, so we stopped to say hi. Then, as we entered the bar itself, Joe stated that it was so dark inside that he couldn't see. The cute female bartender immediately responded with: "just follow my voice!" Ha! Ha! We were all laughing! Everyone placed orders for drinks, but I was having a hard time deciding right away. When I'm put on the spot, I will usually order my old standby Tequila Sunrise. But since it was my birthday, I wanted to try something different. That's when the same bartender mixed up some sort of sampler concoction she called "The Chuck Norris." She even gave it to me on the house when she heard it was my birthday. It turned out to be pretty good, and yes, it did have a "kick" to it! At first, the bar only had a few patrons inside, but after about an hour, a lot more customers started coming in. This bar is your typical dive/sports bar, but with character. The staff is friendly along with the friendly regular customers. There is also a sectioned off room with a few game machines. The lounge seems a little small inside, but there is also a covered patio area that accommodates a larger crowd. We were too full from dinner to try out their food, but everyone enjoyed their beverages. The drinks are reasonable and they have a good happy hour! I hope I get to come back here again soon. It's hard to beat a good old fashion neighborhood dive bar!

Phenomenal dive bar. Depending on the time of day you can take your grandma, best friend, or date. Relaxed vibes with TouchTunes juke box and bartenders who get your drinks in a timely manner. My preferred nights would be Wednesday and Friday, don't miss out on the delicious burgers and appetizers you won't regret it. Easily best bar in Sac-town.

This bar is truly a definition of a dive bar-dark lighting inside, they tend to play throwback music 100% of the time which is awesome-the bartenders here are always super friendly and always seem young-not always the most experienced bartenders you will run into but they always do their job with lots of enthusiasm and friendly demeanors-I think that's important. The drinks themselves are pretty inexpensive per todays Sacramento downtown standards,I think my old fashioned ran for either $10 or $11 which is pretty good and they are always solid-they make very solid get the job done keep the vibe going level drinks and at that price-that's a winning combination. My favorite part of this bar though for me is easy-it's the outside back patio. It features a few long tables and it's mostly frequented by someone either looking to smoke a cigarette or vape,I personally will go back there and light up a cigar and just enjoy the craziness that occurs back there.By craziness I just mean a lot of people socializing-laughing telling stories and getting along,u literally can strike up conversations with people you never met before just based on the fact that you know anybody who finds themselves in the back outside patio at B-Side knows what's up-nobody lands there on accident-it's a super chill spot with a never ending cast of unknowns who might sit next to you and just be prepared as your probably going to have the most random conversation you have ever had in your life. B-Side isn't a fancy bar or a place to go before a nice dinner-this place isn't for everyone, especially at my age,but if u are ever lucky enough to walk thru those doors be prepared to be transported to a time when all you ever wanted was a place you could kick back-have a cheap drink, maybe enjoy a smoke and just chat with people who don't have their noses buried in their ohones-a true throwback.

When I first started coming, they had a huge spacious outdoor space where you could sit and hang out at, smoke, drink, and play games at. But they had to close this area and it's now a parking lot, leaving a super small awkward and dark "outdoor space" that barely fits a group of people. The inside is dark and a little cramped but theres booth seating and bar space. I honestly like the look and feel of the inside. The drinks are decent and they have DJs on certain nights. My friends and I had a less than great experience once on a bar crawl when we weren't given great service and overcharged. Hopefully in the future things improve.

The place is a lot cleaner and brighter than I remember, and there are way more beer selections now. I feel like in the old days there was basically one option. Also, no popcorn all over the floor like I remember from back then -- the whole place feels much more updated and polished now. They also do karaoke now, and apparently it's a pretty big deal. There seemed to be a lot of regulars who clearly have karaoke night circled on their calendars. I didn't sing, but my friend got up and did a Quiet Riot song... which felt appropriate considering we're all straight out of the '90s ourselves. There's also a lot more seating now -- tall tables and stools instead of the little round tables that looked left over from the 1970s. I don't know when I'll be back, but if another occasion comes up where old friends are getting together and this is the chosen spot, I'm definitely in.

Our meals came with a choice of seasoned fries or onion rings. The portions were generous, the burgers were tasty, and you'll definitely want to bring your appetite. The Round Corner has the feel of a friendly neighborhood bar. As you walk in, the small kitchen is located at the end of the bar, where you're greeted by the chef and his assistant, both eager to take your order. One thing to know before you go: the kitchen accepts payment by cash or Venmo only. The bar itself is spacious, with two large pool tables. The dining area is toward the very back and is basic but functional. Dim lighting and neon bar art give the place that classic neighborhood-bar atmosphere. Overall, the food was plentiful, tasty, and exactly what caught my attention on social media in the first place. Definitely come hungry!
