    Hadley makes our drinks!

Absolutely deLISH Libations To End Your Day OR Pregame Your Evening! SITREP .....Or BOTH! Last Friday night, I really enjoyed our impromptu *pre-game stop* here @ Ten Ten Room, before moving on to the Crest Theatre for their classic movie night showing of ALIENS. (For THAT, I definitely need to be a bit BUZZED ahead of time if I was gonna be subjected to Xenomorphs.) THE SETUP Thanks to bartendress Hadley for hosting us at the bar in this lovely divey classy establishment. SPEAKEASY FEEL The look and feel was of a classic speakeasy of yesteryear and really amped up the vibe and ambiance. From the tables and chairs to the decor, it was nice to feel we were time-warped back into the Roaring 20s. LE LIBATIONS And thanks to Hadley for making us absolutely SPECTACULAR libations! From the drink menu I immediately zoned in on the "7th Ave" (a bourbon drink, bourbon being my *jam*). It was fun having a front row seat to watching Hadley make all of our drinks. MORAI And we were actually seated in from of the Owl Idol of "MORAI", Ahsoka Tano's Mortis avatar (Ahsoka being the padawan of Anakin Skywalker - suffice it to say a lotta sh*t happens between Ahsoka & Anakin before & after his Darth Vader days). VERY MILD CON - THE BAR STOOLS I will say that even though I love 95% of everything about this place, I HATE the bar stools at the bar since they are too tight for my fat ass! With the high tight sides around the perimeter of the stool, they are too snug for me to scoot back to even make me feel comfortable. I was constantly feeling like the small portion of my butt was going to slip off and I'd land on my ass, OR I was going to fall back completely and ruin my back / hit my head on the ground. SO, I tried to balance the best I could... THE LOWDOWN Excellent Happy Hour and/or Pregame stop to get some excellent beverages!

What a great bar! Very cozy and quaint. My fiance and I came here because he wanted to try a Boulevardier. This bar was the first to pop up when I searched that drink up on Yelp. We ended up trying not only drinks but also food on their menu. Shrimp tacos were good. Nothing crazy. We loved the garlic fries. Super flavorful! He had his boulevardier which he enjoyed and I tried their Santorini and Dragon Rider. The Santorini was a mix of flavors, supposed to have watermelon but I didn't really get that. I did enjoy the Dragon Rider - a rich, more creamy drink. Definitely a place I'd come back to especially because we wanted to try their Korean hot dog but it was unavailable at the time. Check this place out!

We almost didn't stop by because of the yelp review saying they were shut down, but we still have it a shot because the bar in our hotel was so pompous (?? I've never called a bar that). Anyway, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but when we walked in, I was immediately impressed by how charming and low key it was. Haha I was expecting sticky floors and a questionable back alleys!! We were immediately greeted. Drinks came quickly. It was just suuuch a good time. We only go out when we're out of town for work, and this made it worth while. Thank you so much for the delicious drinks, service, and overall good time, Ten Ten Room!!

This place was incredible. Tanner was awesome. The drinks were fantastic and innovative. Dino nuggets were fun and tasty. We also ate filet sliders and shrimp tacos and I'd highly recommend both. The general vibes of the bar were dope too. Definitely will be going back often!

Ten Ten Room, Sacramento, CA - June 30, 2023 - they climb high on the ladder for just the right spirit!

Ten Ten Tap Room, Sacramento, CA - June 30, 2023 Ever walk into a place, no one's there except for the bartender, and you think to yourself "hum, I don't know, not sure if I'm gonna like this place?" We'll that's what it was like at 5 pm on a Friday night in Downtown Sacramento on a 100 degree day at Ten Ten Tap Room. Located on 10th Street on the west side, next door to the Citizens Hotel (10th and J), this seemingly hole in the wall was good and bad - A Tale of Two Cities if you well. We did have a little trouble zeroing in on the location. Seriously, if you blinked, you would miss it and wind up at 1010+1/2 and say "where the hell is this place?" There is a three foot tall rod iron fence in front that gives it away. Store that away in your AI memory bank. You'll need it to find this place. There are a lot of homeless people in this general area, which is a huge disappointment to me, Putting the homeless issue in Downtown Sacramento aside, this little tap room is really cool. Our bartenders John and Slate couldn't have been more friendly and personable. My wife ordered a Sazerac (Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey, Cognac, Demerara, Peychaud's Bitters, Angostura Bitters, Absinthe) and I ordered a Manhattan with Makers Mark bourbon. John was a little surprised when I asked for Makers Mark. He was expecting I would ask for a rye whiskey. The drink came out as I expected (I make the same concoction at home), but I got to thinking "what would this taste like with a rye whisky?" So I asked John to make me his version using a rye whiskey. They have a pretty substantial selection of spirits, and John climbed high up the ladder to find just the right rye - Elijah Craig. OK, now I'm intrigued. John worked his magic putting together the ingredients and brings it to the table. First sip, HEAVEN! Perfect blend of rye, sweet vermouth, and bitters! For all of you Manhattan experts, I apologize for my ignorance. But now I know. Thank you John for educating me! Will I be back? Probably not. Convince City Council to find a semblance of an intelligent solution to redirecting the homeless away from your neighborhood to homeless shelters, educational opportunities, drug rehab centers, and mental health facilities, and I'll be back. Sorry to sound so ruthless (and politically incorrect), but that's just how I see things. Good luck staying in business.

We went here during the Spirit World themed pop-up and BOLGOGYEE food vendor (pop-up?). The Halloween theme was cool, it's a small bar but comfortable and clean inside. The ectoplasm shooter was really good but the I Ain't Afraid of No Ghost shooter wasn't my thing. I tried the BOLGOGYEE pop-up (Filipino fusion(?) food) and got the pork & shrimp lumpia and chicken adobo. Both were great quality and flavorful. Great service from both the bartenders and the chef, I will definitely come back.

Cool spot to get a drink, especially in the heat. It's dark and cool and feels like a speakeasy. Knowledge bartenders.

The skirt steak was juicy and tender, topped with fresh onions and cilantro, and served with salsa verde and lime on the side. The tacos had that classic street taco feel, simple but satisfying. They were generously filled with meat, which I definitely appreciated. While I'm personally not a fan of purple tortillas, the quality of the steak and toppings still made these very enjoyable. My only real criticism was the water service. The cups were fairly small, and refills weren't offered as often as I would have liked. If you're thirsty, it may be worth asking for a pitcher or larger water service upfront. Overall, I left feeling full and satisfied. The food was fresh, the portions were generous, and the margarita was excellent. I'd definitely consider coming back to try more items on the menu.

When we walked in I knew I was in the perfect spot-this bar has those low lights that all the bars in the 70s and 80s had-giving off a both romantic and mysterious vibe to it-I was in love with the place from that moment on. The music that day was awesome-I heard they have live music at times but at the time of my visit they did not-they were instead playing 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop-it was wonderful-one banger after another-so yeah I was vibing. Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. We ended up going with a few drinks that day. -Strawberry Negroni-($13.00)-This one blew my socks off-my favorite drink in the works is a Negroni but this bar makes a Strawberry version of it and let me tell ya-it's dynamite-10/10 rating -Old Fashioned-($12.00)-This is my go-to order at most bars because it's pretty reliable and most bars can make a decent one and I'd say they make a very solid one here-8.2/10 rating -Cucumber Gimlet with Tequila-($11.00)-This drink was made with lime-sweet vermouth and tequila-it was very refreshing and went down way too easy-rating 8.4/10 -Mezcal mystery drink-($12.00)-This was a drink the bartender made that after we declared our love for the smokiness of mezcal-I wouldn't be able to ask for it again unless I got the same waitress but if your a mezcal lover like I am-this drink was top of the line-smokiness intensity off the charts-9.1/10 rating So a little about the place that I picked up during my visit-I guess they serve food-I didn't know that but after my 2nd drink I looked back and saw this entire dining area with table side grills-so I guess the customers cook their own meats and such-pretty cool concept-my visit was strictly a drinking visit so I didn't partake but it looked pretty cool. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.

You go to the bar inside to order and then you are given a number and then a server brings your food out to your table. I went with 2 friends so I saved our table for us so it wouldn't get taken while they went to order for me. I ordered the short stack ube mochi pancakes which was only $6 for 2 pancakes which was so cheap! I was shocked at the price! If you want the full stack it is $12 which is still such a great deal. The pancakes came with strawberry and pineapple fruit topping, coconut shavings, and caramelized condensed milk syrup. The pancakes were chewy and soft and not too sweet and had good ube flavor. My fellow elite Yelp friend ordered the matcha waffles which was a large portion but she said the waffles lacked strong matcha flavor. I looked at the rest of their menu and wanted to try their savory Filipino dishes such as the loco moco. Overall, the ube pancakes are delicious and such a great deal! I want to go back to try the rest of their savory Filipino dishes next time!
