I've been going to Elixir for over a year now and have been very satisfied with the quality and affordability of this salon. I've seen many of the stylists for blowouts and each time have had consistently great service. I exclusively see Natalie for my color and cuts and she is amazing! She is very detailed with her work and her shampoos are hands down the best you'll ever have! Elixir uses Aveda products in their salon and they make my hair smell and feel great. She was just wanting to know how it went, if you were satisfied, you know, stuff like that. Me: [Stifling a "No duh, I think I know the purpose of a call-back."] Well, can I speak to her or can I speak to you? Really Dense Salon Girl: Well Shanna's not here... you can call her back tomorrow, or just leave a message for her. Me: ...Can I just tell you? Really Dense Salon Girl: Okay! How did it go? Me: I'm glad you guys called because I wasn't going to act like this was going to be a big deal or anything, but I received the absolute worst pedicure of my life. She hurt my cuticles and she over zealously filed my foot down until it drew blood. She seemed really apologetic and embarrassed, but I felt bad for her and tipped her anyways. But now I'm kind of pissed off since I'm a nurse and work 12 hour shifts on my feet all day. My foot hurts for several hours each time I work a shift since she filed a sore. And it still has not healed. Again, I'm not trying to get any money or whatever from you guys, but I'm only telling you guys since you asked. Silence. Me: Hello? *checks phone; we're still connected. In fact, I can hear that we're still connected* More silence. So I hung up. About 20 minutes later, Really Dense Salon Girl called me back, apologized for the dropped call, and promised to relay my message to the manager who will "fix things." To this day, I have not heard back. The suckiest sucks that ever sucked. I'm going back to strip malls if I want a pedicure. Wasn't worth the drive, wasn't worth the wait (and my appointment was made a day in advance), and definitely was not worth $40 (YES I WAS STILL CHARGED). Plus a $6 tip. I have been a loyal customer of Elixir and love my stylist. Unfortunately, they have chosen to increase their prices by 60% (after a 25% increase earlier in the year). A men's haircut that cost $40 last summer is now $80. They didn't even do existing customers the courtesy of letting us know. They send a text to confirm the appointment, but don't bother to tell you that when you get there, you will be ambushed with a new price and given the option to take accept the new price or leave. I had a much needed prenatal massage with Dawne and it was wonderful! The pillows used allowed me to lay on my stomach with no issues which provided for a massage that felt like pre-pregnancy. I actually forgot I had a belly! If I could visit each week for a massage here I would! The staff was so nice and accommodating, I would highly recommend! This place is fantastic for a relaxing day at the spa. The environment is very soothing and interesting. In the waiting area there is a beautiful setup which makes you feel like you are in a remote location, though you are in the middle of suburbia. Each treatment room is decorated with a different theme, but are all classy and relaxing. I have been multiple times under different circumstances and got a consistently professional & enjoyable experience. The staff was kind, but the haircut was not what I asked for. I showed pictures and we talked, but the cut ended up being much shorter than I asked. What was supposed to be a collar bone length cut ended up being 1.5 inches below my ear. The cut was uneven from left to right. They plan the schedule for you so you can show up and they'll guide you to where you need to go. I've been here several times over the years, but have never even thought to review. After the Aveda store at Northeast Mall closed, this was the closest salon that participated in the Pure Privilege points. I usually go there simply to buy my shampoo (the "Be Curly" line, which I highly recommend for anyone with 3b/3c type curls). Over the years, I've had my daughter's hair cut several times and my hair styled. The stylists are great with kids. The shampoos are quite relaxing. I've been a steady client at Elixir, and I am a major Aveda consumer, I rack up quite a few Pure Privlege points and unless I specifically going to the spa I usually go to the Aveda store in the mall when I get a freebie. My April 21st visit (my birthday) I found the mall store gone and I went to Elixir Spa to buy my products. I had 2 offers for double points, free purfume, and two free services to test out two new products. I was treated so rudely by the girl at the counter there, I will never return to the spa, for ANYTHING. This is the worst haricut I have ever gotten. I had an appointment with one of their "top" stylist, but when I arrived I was given to someone else. I had already waited a week to get this appointment with this sytlist. This other stylist knew nothing about cutting hair. It was awful. To be treated so badly, and told NO we changed you to someone else after waiting a week, and then not even letting me know, is inexcusable! I do not recommend this place at all! read more

Great service from the very start! Britanee was such a delight! She took great care of me and gave me the color that I really wanted at a good price. I've been other Aveda salons in the DFW area and had issues with the color or prices. I'm currently an icy blonde and it tends to go warm in color if you aren't careful. It used to be very busy and the staff was very professional with a great vibe. Now, it's usually empty and the staff is comprised of a bunch of young kids who are not professional. Very upset right now! I sent my 17 year old daughter to Elixir have Alexis work on her hair - she got a bad color job at another salon where is was dark brown with red in it. I called and made the appt and told them I wanted them to get the red out and lift the dark color. She went there and said she wanted an ombré and showed them a pic of much lighter hair. My daignter comes home in tears bc she comes home 3 hours later it's almost black and they charged my cc $270!! I immediately called them but the closed the store for the night. Her prom is next week and she graduates in a few weeks. I wanted Elixir to fix it so her hair would look good for all of the pictures we are about to take. Not happy at all!!! read more

I have been going to Elixir for my hair care for the last..almost 5 years and I would never consider going anywhere else in the area. I have been dying my hair borderline white for the last couple of years and it is still long and beautiful because of the AVEDA products they use and sell. I wouldn't trust dying my hair this platinum white anywhere else. Not only are all of the stylists amazing at their work and friendly but the actual salon is so peaceful and comfortable. I always explain that it is more than just an appointment.. it is the experience that always leaves me so satisfied. I love their complimentary iced tea and hand massages. Over the weekend I was in a wedding and got my hair done by Camerin and my make-up done by Aubrey. What a great experience! I had my make-up done first with Aubrey and she was really amazing! She sat down and talked with me about exactly what I wanted first, and boy did she deliver! Plus, she was really nice and made me feel really comfortable. Next I got my hair done by Camerin. I wanted a full-body 'do with curls and that is just what I got! My hair doesn't easily hold curl, but even into the wee hours of the morning, my curls were perfect!
