Wow! Marina did a phenomenal job altering my vintage wedding dress! She's a real pro with talent, an impressive breadth of knowledge, and great prices. I live in LA, and I have to say, she's the best tailor with the best prices I've encountered. My 1974 dress was too tight around my chest and zipped up all the way to my neck, and Marina had brilliant ideas about adding on lace (which she dyed to match) and altering the neckline in the back to make it more comfortable. The additional challenge was that all the alterations had to be 100% reversible -- what a remarkable job she did! She even steamed it for me afterward. She is so detail oriented, she even noticed that some of the vintage pearls were missing from the dress and replaced them at no extra charge. She also told my mom and me exactly how to clean the dress in order to take care of the delicate fabric (Arm & Hammer Washing Soda and gentle detergent, which I would never, ever have guessed - I thought I would have to dry clean it!). On top of all that, she even helped me figure out what to do with my shoes. I am going to be wearing white boots that have some bright green accents, which I realized didn't really look right with the ivory gown. Marina found exactly the right color and style of stretch lace for me to glue onto the boots to cover up the green (plus, she was so sweet that she even lent me a hot glue gun to use!) I felt empowered by her guidance and help with the boots, and they now look great. This whole wedding planning process has led me to meet many more vendors and providers of services than I usually encounter, and Marina at Elizabeth's Tailoring is my favorite. Not only is she incredibly skilled and reasonably priced, but she also exudes peacefulness, personal warmth and kindness. Every time I went to see her, I felt welcome, and by the time I left, it was with the sense that in the midst of all this wedding planning insanity, everything was going to be ok :-). read more

I took a bridesmaids dress that i had to buy last minute and was two sizes bigger I called Elizabeth made an appointment the next day told her i needed it soon since the wedding is next weekend and she was able to get it done and at no extra charge! that is amazing to me because Alfred Angelo the store where i bought my dress was charging me extra to get it done with in a week and they are just super expensive but NOT Elizabeth she is super affordable and was very helpful and sweet she is such a humble lady and i love that she made my dress sooooo good she exceeded my expectations it fits me perfect and even makes me look like i have a tiny waist (which i dont have) i now lovee my dress its perfect thanks to her and i will continue to use her for my future needs and i highly recommend her to any one needing tailoring services!!! read more

The wedding dress I ordered came in three sizes too big. I first took it to a different tailor. He ruined my dress. There were whole sections of beading that were missing, seams that did not line up correctly, and even holes in the fabric where he had sewn right over the beading. On top of all of this, it still didn't fit correctly. I was refered to Elizabeth through a freind who swore she could work miracles. And she did!!
