Made a reservation for noon on Saturday. Arrived to less than half of the tables full. There was clearly an issue in the kitchen as it took over an hour to get our food. The salon arrived dry and with hardly any vegetables. My partner chose to stop drinking water as one of the waitstaff made him uncomfortable. Nothing was communicated regarding the delay, nor were we compensated at all for the wait. The behavior of the staff was not impressive, nor was the food. A nearby chain would have been a better choice.

The place was really clean. Nice size. There is a room available for a larger group. There was only a hummus platter available that was vegan friendly. When I spoke with the waitress she suggested another meal and said she would go speak with the chef about the possibility of making it vegan and adding some seasonal veggies to it. Well she came back with great news and I ended up ordering the Tuscan Farmers breakfast but made vegan. It was super delicious. All the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on both food and drinks. I would love to come here again and hope to find more vegan options available on the menu.

Great Spot, with accommodating and friendly staff. We made a last minute reservation for 7 adults and a toddler , the team treated us like family. The food met everyones expectations, we all wished we could have shared some wine but It was our pre race meal for the Eugene Marathon. Would recommend to anyone looking for variety and a good quality meal!

rubbery fried octopus. overpriced appetizer

Very disappointed in the management of this business. I went to this lounge with three other people after going bowling one Friday night. Me and my partner had eaten here before and it was good. This night, not worth the money. I ordered the appetizer Octopus...almost $20 for 3 or 4 pieces and they were rubbery and not edible. I was really disappointed. The Caesar salad was a plate of torn lettuce, hard bits of bread crumbs...DRY AS A BONE. My partner got the lamb kabob and it was COLD and very small. We were pretty embarrassed to bring friends to this place. I wrote to (I thought) Elizabeth's restaurant but it turned out to be one of their other establishments. The person responded that they would forward it to Elizabeth's. I never heard one word from Elizabeth's. We won't return.

This is such a cute place with such great ambiance. First off, the inside is so beautifully decorated and a great energy. The service is fast and very kind and knowledgeable. There is a vast drink selection: cocktails, wines/ wine flights, beer, and NA drinks. I didn't realize there is a food here too and it's an amazing menu. I got the jalapeño cheese dip and risotto. They were both delicious. What a wonderful experience for Eugene!

Walked in on a Friday for a bite, there was no wait. They did have live music (1 guy and his guitar) - was a little loud for the space I felt. Waitress was nice and quick. We got cocktails instead of wine - margarita and a gimlet. For an app we got the prosciutto goat cheese wraps and they were delicious! Would recommend. My spouse got the salmon and it was severely lacking. The rice tasted like steam in the microwave and then the "veggie" side was two sliced pieces of carrot and 1 sliced cucumber pieces that were all cold. Not good - would not recommend. I got the cold pesto pasta and added chicken. This was definitely the better dish. Had good flavor and all the ingredients worked well together. As a side note - my spouse asked if he could get the burger just without the blue cheese crumble and the waitress just acted like he asked for the moon which is how he came to pick the salmon which was a 0/10 dish. So for over $100 we had some basic cocktails, a great app and 1 decent entree.

Sicilian flatbread

I went back and forth on 3 or 4 stars here. I think the vibe and staff saved it from 3, but you really need to know it all to know why. We booked the Den (semi-private side room with fireplace, has sliding doors you can close) for our company dinner. We were told we couldn't do a reservation on a Friday night after 5 pm due to the fact that they have live music Friday nights and get quite busy. Not a big deal, we were fine eating before the crowds. However, they didn't seem very busy through the evening we were there. I hope that was just an anomaly, for their sake. The musician they had that night was good! Ambiance - check! Love the soft lighting, comfortable seating, beautiful table settings and overall decor of this place. Servers - very nice and helpful but seemed a bit slow considering their level of business at the time, as well as a bit lacking. For example, we had extra, unused wine glasses on our table that I ended up removing and putting on a side table myself to make more room. Also, at the end of the meal, a couple of us had extra pieces of flatbread that we would have liked containers for but we were never offered any and it had been so long between sightings of our servers, that we left them behind. Food - great presentation, but mild and lacking flavor. I did enjoy the house-made potato chips, but the onion dip was a small serving and wasn't as flavorful as expected. Same with the baked jalapeno artichoke dip, which was room temp and I felt should have been served warm. It was a bit bland. Additionally, the serving utensils for the appetizers seemed like odd choices considering (i.e. a tiny, tiny "fork" for the artichoke dip) and were hard to utilize with a larger group. Quite a few people in our group ordered the salmon and when received, one person's serving was clearly very uncooked compared to the rest of the tables'. They couldn't finish their plate and brought it up with the staff, who were very accommodating and apologetic. They did end up taking that dish off the final bill, so that was very nice. My Sicilian flatbread was good, if a bit charred on the bottom. Wine/beverages - good! I had the muscat and loved it! I meant to buy a bottle but forgot by the end of the evening. I heard good reviews on the pinot gris as well.

Starlight Lounge: Where Eugene's Secret Broadway Rejects Serenade You (And It's Weirdly Good)…read more Gave the Starlight Lounge a whirl last Sunday for their karaoke night. Expectations were set somewhere between "drunken caterwauling" and "mildly painful nostalgia." Color me... surprised! Let's cut to the chase: the *talent* here. Eugene, who knew? Several performers weren't just "good for karaoke," they were legitimately, bafflingly excellent. Like, "should probably be charging admission or at least bothering Broadway agents" levels. One individual in particular possessed the kind of voice that makes you wonder why they're belting show tunes in a dimly lit Eugene bar on a Friday and not, you know, on a stage where people pay actual money. It was impressively non-awful. Actually, scratch that. It was great. Shockingly so. Drinks? Perfectly serviceable. Major points for the extensive non-alcoholic menu. They seemed genuinely willing to de-booze pretty much anything on request, which is handy if you're the designated listener to Eugene's hidden musical theatre gems. Staff were friendly enough, didn't seem phased by the slightly goth-adjacent vibe the place cultivates. Points for atmosphere. The singer's area wins for comfort - actual couches you can sink into while contemplating the life choices that led that phenomenal voice. The DJ deserves a medal. Actively prowling the darker corners of the bar, gently coercing the shy into public performance? Effective. Almost concerningly so. They offer food (didn't try it, smelled... present), and there are the obligatory video gambling machines for those who enjoy losing money slightly more efficiently. Now, the rating. 3+ stars.*** Why not higher? Look, it's a solid experience. Friendly, talented, comfortable, good drinks (alcoholic or not). But it's the Starlight Lounge, not the Met. Manage expectations. It's a pleasantly nice hidden gem, truly. Emphasis on gem but also on hidden and possibly on the faint scent of... well, I didn't try the women's restroom this time. That particular adventure, and its potential to swiftly terminate an evening "May or may" not determine if one needs to head home cause she's unable to use a disgusting toilet) is reserved for my next visit. A critical data point, one might say. Overall- Surprisingly excellent karaoke talent (seriously), good drinks (booze-free options aplenty), comfy vibe, proactive DJ. Minus points for existential questions raised by the talent pool's location and the looming bathroom inspection. **3+ stars. Good job, guys. Keep it up! P.S: it was ass FREE less the drinks etc... SCORE! 3 out of 5 = Good Job Helping hands; improve and attract more customers. 1. Partner with Downtown Hotels: Drop off flyers/promo cards at hotel concierge desk highlighting your surprisingly Broadway-level karaoke and extensive mocktail menu - perfect for tourists looking for unique, non-club nightlife. 2. Advertise Themed Nights in "The Weekly": Run simple, recurring ads or event listings for specific karaoke nights (e.g., "Showtune Sundays," "80s Power Hour") in Eugene's free weekly paper - targets locals planning their week. 3. Leverage Social Media Snippets: Post short video clips (even just 15-30 seconds!) of your best singers (with permission!) on Instagram/Facebook; yes even facebook. Showcase the talent & vibe - proof beats description. 4. Promote Mocktails Specifically: Add a dedicated "Zero Proof Stars" section to your drink menu/online & mention it explicitly in ads. Eugene's health-conscious crowd will notice. 5. Offer a "First-Timer" Perk: Give a small discount on a well drink or mocktail to anyone the DJ recruits to sing for the first time. Lowers the barrier, rewards participation. Good luck & I have faith you will continue to make wonderful cherished memories.

I've lived here for around 5 years, and another 15 years up in Salem and this little restaurant is a gem in every respect. I've been to Rye at least 4 times since moving here. I had heard about it from friends and so my partner and I first tried it out and were highly impressed with the food, the servce and the ambiance. The menu is just a bit limited but between the specials and the menu offerings, there was plenty to choose from. Above all, what they do, they do very well. I and my partner ate at Rye three nights ago and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience in every way. AMBIENCE... The dining room is terrific. Lots of dark wood. The lighting of the room is especially conducive to privacy but not isolation. Inasmuch as it was raining to beat the band when we arrived, entering felt like a welcoming respite. The patrons' chatter was subdued but clearly they were having a great time. FOOD... We ordered cocktails (I enjoyed a Cocchi Rye whiskey cocktail which was delicious. The French onion soup I ordered was also very tasty and loaded with mozzarella atop the cup. I then dived into a "special" plate of a Chinook salmon fillet, finished perfectly and sitting on a bed or pureed squash. Excellent, I thought. Afterwards, we shared some sort of fruity pastry, sharing with two forks. SERVICE... From where I sat I could watch the bar activity, even the service window into the kitchen allowed me to watch all the activity. Our server was very efficient and cheerful and engaging without being overbearing in any way. AFTERTHOUGHTS: I will be coming back, of course. Rye is where you want to go to have a very good time eating out. You're not going to spend an arm and a leg to eat there but Rye is definitely not Denny's. I think this was my fourth trip there and all four times I felt thoroughly satisfied in every way.

The bar looks like it can accommodate about 30 people in the interior. There is a nice outdoor patio that can easily accommodate more when the weather is nice. The barkeeper was very attentive and observant, he took our food and drink requests at the bar and in short order, everything was presented. I had a Moscow Mule that I found to be a refreshing drink. Ginger beer, lime and vodka. An excellent combination. I also had an order of the chicken wings and fries. The fries were a normal shoestring variety, cooked well, nicely salted and came in a metal bowl. The wings I found to be outstanding! I don't usually get wings this well made unless I do it myself. I received 8 wings coated with barbecue sauce on a charcuterie board with the fries. The wings were served nicely hot. The meat was piping hot, juicy and tender. The barbecue coating was a hearty middle of the road sauce, not sweet or too smoky. It was caramelized perfectly for that sticky texture and flavor. Definitely a nice coating. Thankfully the bartender brought us a lot of napkins. The wings and fries made for a satisfying meal. The bar boasts a couple of gas fireplaces that make for a warming environment with a few semi private tables. There is a longer table for a larger group as well as several smaller tables and a few bar stools for game watching.
