We always enjoy a great meal at Elk Prime--the steaks are perfectly prepared (my favorite entree is the thick cut filet) and the baked potato is perfection! Service is always top notch and the atmosphere is nice and quiet.

Waygu A5 Steaks - Cooked to to medium rare perfection.

We had a very lovely dinner at Prime tonight. The Waygu A5 steaks were amazing and cooked perfectly. The waiter's recommendations were top knotch and he was polite and courteous. We enjoyed a very quiet, romantic environment as well. We absolutely loved it.

From start to finish our experience was outstanding. The hostess Ally not only greeted and seated us but stopped by our table later to see how we were doing. We had a great conversation with her for several minutes. Our server Mel was friendly and attentive as well. The food presentation was top-notch and tasted delicious. We will be back!! Lori and Dave (the best 4 letter word I've ever been called). :-)

I wanted to like this more and expected more from it for the price and menu, etc. We had a reservation and our table was ready. We sat outside and it was a good call because it was a little humid and stuffy inside (went on 07/23). Our waiter was good and attentive. I had the short ribs that were okay but not as good as most other short ribs that I've had. It comes with truffle polenta and green beans. I just can't learn to like polenta. Though it was probably the best polenta I've ever had, which isn't saying much because I'm not a fan. The beans were good. My son had the elk tenderloin and liked it a lot. It came with 2 ravioli with sausage filling. He said they were good too. My husband had the 10oz filet. It has a slightly smoke flavor. It also had probably the most fat he's had to cut out of a filet and that's usually his go to order when we're out. Steaks are a la carte. We ordered the cauli gratin and smoked cheddar mashed potatoes. They were both really tasty. It seems like the only restaurant like that in town. So, it may have to be your only choice if that's what you're seeking but for the $315 (incl 1 $20 glass of wine & tip) it just didn't leave me wowed.

Be sure to book early seating time to avoid the masses. A great steak restaurant with excellent other dishes as well. A relatively quiet place we were able to talk without effort. Wait staff were very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They appeared to have a very knowledgeable bartenderess which would be needed to handle some of the fancier drinks. As expected the prices were a bit shocking but the kitchen preparations were excellent.

5 stars all day every day. I was dying for a wedge salad and mac and cheese so we decided to come here for dinner and posted up at the bar. First impressions - the menu is perfect. My opinion - one of the best steak house menus. Has everything you could ever want and it ALL LOOKS GOOD. The steak topper options are incredible. The sides are even better. The mac and cheese was TO DIE FOR. A server walked past me with the Cesar salad and I almost ordered another salad. It looked incredible. We sat at the bar and our service was outstanding. It has a definite mountain town feel inside. So it's upscale food but someone could be sitting next to you with a trucker hat and cowboy boots on. It's not snooty. Everything was perfect. Can't wait to visit CB again and come here. New favorite restaurant in this town.

My daughter and I began our experience with two excellent cocktails - "Sparkling Greyhound" and the "Sippin on Gin & Peach" and then shared the beef tartar, escargot for starters which were both excellent. The apricot gazpacho (similar to the lovely Peach Gazpacho on the Soupcon menu) was amazing - slightly sweet and tangy - and very refreshing although i did see a couple of salads that looked nice. And to stumble upon this chic and inconspicuous cocktail bar in the busy downtown was something I wasn't expecting and became a treat after a nice stroll through the town after dinner in my hotel room. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was at the place where my heart was calling for. There were two gents at the bar and one of them warmly greeted me and said I could sit anywhere I would like. I hence picked one of the bar seats. Except one table that was occupied by a couple I was the only one. I appeared to have picked the right time; I had the whole bar to myself (eventually though, several different groups of people streamed in; only a few of them sat at the bar close to me. The bar was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a little over 10 people.) Jeremy, who greeted me upon arrival, was a super host. As soon as I explained that wine is my usual got-to, he said he could mix and match reds and whites to create a "flight" based on what I had told him as to my likings. His extensive explanations as to what sorts of reds and whites the bar offers/serves was (of course) all in his memory. His eloquent speech with no filler words truly impressed me; he sure is a wine connoisseur. What he picked for me were... -2024 Pepiere "Les Gras Moutons" (Muscadet) -Kobal "Bajta", Hazole Belo (aka Orange Wine) -Sandlands "Red Table Wine (Lodi Red Blend) With his wealth of knowledge, after giving him only a hint of what I liked, what Jeremy selected for me to sample/sip was a superb choice. All of them were world-class excellence with elegance and beauty. I carefully and slowly sipped each one little by little to truly immerse myself in the art of wine. Yes, wine is a piece of art for sure. I think I said it correctly at the beginning of this review. This is a cocktail bar with variety of spirits which Jeremy could easily concoct just about anything from gin-based one to vodka-based one to tequila-based ones to whiskey-based one to name several. For those who don't drink, their zero-proof section also has something interesting to browse and choose. Not to mention, rotating pilsner or IPA on tap to name a few from the beer section as well. If you need a little bite to eat, their (changing) food menu has a good number of New American-style plates. The bar originally opened in a different building back in 2015 (I believe). They moved to the current location in 2019. They also offer various different classes so you can expand/extend your knowledge. So for your next foodie vacation in Vail, make sure to include Root & Flower in your list.

Price: Expect standard Vail pricing for high-end cocktails, with most drinks ranging between $16-$20. Customer Service: The service was fantastic. The staff was incredibly kind and efficient; even though we stayed for quite a while to catch up, we felt welcomed and well-attended to the entire night. Atmosphere This spot has a cool, welcoming vibe that feels very safe. It's the kind of environment where you can really settle in and enjoy the company you're with. The Drinks I ordered the Sangre del Sol. The flavor was amazing, though be warned it is very strong! It's an excellent choice if you enjoy a cocktail with a serious kick, but I ended up letting my friend finish mine after a few sips. Overall Experience I highly recommend Root & Flower for a beautiful setting and top-tier service. Pro Tip: A huge bonus for this location is the parking! You can park for free after 3 PM at the S. Frontage Rd. East garage right nearby. I'll definitely be back!

Our experience at Meat & Cheese in Aspen was disappointing from beginning to end…read more To start with, the food was mediocre in every sense. The quality did not justify the prices, the flavors were forgettable, and nothing we ordered stood out. Unfortunately, what happened afterward was far worse. My wife accidentally left behind a shopping bag containing a brand new pair of sunglasses she had purchased earlier that day. When she returned to retrieve them, our interaction with a server named Carson was deeply disappointing. Instead of simply confirming ownership in a courteous and professional manner, Carson repeatedly questioned whether the sunglasses were actually hers. He kept emphasizing that they were brand new and worth around $600, making it clear that he found it difficult to believe they belonged to her. It was impossible not to feel that she was being judged based solely on her appearance. There is absolutely nothing wrong with verifying ownership of a valuable item. In fact, we appreciate businesses that take lost property seriously. What is unacceptable is allowing assumptions and stereotypes to influence how customers are treated. One lesson worth remembering is that genuine elegance and long established wealth rarely need to announce themselves. Those who have had the privilege of success across generations often feel no need to advertise it with designer logos or outward displays. True class is reflected in education, humility, confidence, and, above all, in the way people treat others. Ironically, Carson's assumptions said far more about his own judgment than they did about my wife. No customer should ever be made to feel that they need to "look wealthy" in order to be treated with respect. We hope management addresses this issue seriously. The mediocre food was forgettable. Being judged and treated with prejudice is not. Every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and dignity, regardless of how they are dressed or what assumptions someone chooses to make about them.

Nestled among the peaks of the Sawatch Range, where tumbleweeds might theoretically roll if they weren't caught in the spokes of a passing bicycle, sits an establishment of peculiar perfection: The Biker & The Baker. My compass has unerringly pointed to their door every single time I visit Salida over the past five years. It is a tradition forged in sugar and chain grease, where the rugged American West meets the precision of French pastry. Pairing high-desert riding with artisanal baking seems like a recipe for a pile-up, but the execution here is a sweet ride. You will find aerodynamic cyclists sitting elbow-to-elbow with flannel-draped modern prospectors, united by a singular quest for butter. The Biker handles the gears, the Baker handles the tiers. They aren't just coasting on charm; they are pedaling toward culinary triumph, baking up a storm that rivals the monsoons over the Arkansas River. The confections are miniature monuments to indulgence. I have routinely panned for gold in this valley, but the true motherlode is their lemon tart--a symmetrical marvel of citrus striking like a high-noon sun. Their charcuterie boards are arranged with the geometric exactitude of a surveyor mapping a railroad.
