    Ellens Burger

This is a an absolutely wonderful spot in Greenport! We had the burger, mussels, tuna nachos and burrata and everything was delicious! We also brought the kiddos and they had chicken fingers with fries and a hot dog (which were also very very good) Service was great and even better that they welcomed our kiddos without hesitation. Definitely one of the best spots in Greenport and will absolutely be back.

My wife and I were visiting Greenport and came across Ellen's on Front while searching for a restaurant to have an early dinner. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, but was pretty busy by the time we left. We ordered a few different dishes from the menu, and enjoyed them all. We started with the Honey Butter Chips. They were warm and tasted delicious with the honey butter sauce drizzled on top. I really couldn't stop eating them. The Crispy Thai Crisp Lettuce Wrap came with two different sauces that were both very good. I highly recommend the Sweet Tea Brined Fried Chicken. It also came with the honey butter sauce, and made the fried chicken delicious! Lastly, I ordered the Cacio E Pepe Pastina. It tasted great, but I think I would have preferred that it was made with Spaghetti instead. What I like about Ellen's is that it doesn't try to be like the other restaurants in Greenport that offer the same usual seafood dishes on their menu. The dishes here have a nice twist on traditional cuisines (such as the Mussels Korma or the Peruvian Chicken Wings) Along with Ellen, her son and daughter also works at the restaurant. They were very nice and came by our table to check on us. With great service, awesome food and a charming atmosphere, It's easy to see why the restaurant is doing so well.

Came here for a late lunch date and was very excited with the choice we made the second we walked through the front door. We didn't have any wait once we got there and even on a busy day in Greenport we got the spot right next to the front window (a personal favorite location for me). Ambiance was very clean and natural and kept that little small coastal beach town vibe on tap. Staff was very friendly and helpful and didn't leave us wanting for anything while not rushing us either (they do break between lunch and dinner, as a heads up). Parking in Greenport can be nuts, we had to walk a little ways from parking on a side street, but if you're lucky there is closer parking in some of the nearby lots. We started out with a drink for each of us, a local Rosé for her and the cranberry cocktail that's a reference to clueless that I regretfully forget the name of! Both were nice summer choices that were light and refreshing on a hot day. We split the calamari, lightly battered with a great aioli to dip in too. I don't know much about Rhode Island, but apparently they do calamari right! For mains, I went with the crispy chicken thigh sandwich and she went with the steak frites. Fries were so perfectly crispy and just the right amount of salt, haven't had a fry this good in AWHILE. As for the sandwich, juicy and delicious, and I want to know where they get their thighs from, because this baby was THICC! The steak though was incredibly tender and perfectly cooked while being paired alongside a nice garlicky chimichurri sauce that definitely left us grabbing for a piece of gum after, but delicious nonetheless. This place wowed for lunch and would quickly be a place I recommend to others, I'm just as eager to comeback soon to see what they have in store for dinner,

We loved Ellen's on Front. The food was so fresh and tasty. The decor is simple but comfortable. Get the mussels, ribs and quinoa salad!

    Amazing lobster roll

Had a great dinner at Ellen's! I felt compelled to write this review not only because the experience was wonderful and the food delicious, but also because there needs to be more Yelp photos/reviews! I had such a hard time determining if I wanted to order the lobster roll based on the photos, and the answer for anyone else who is wondering is a resounding YES!! Huge chunks of tender lobster lightly dressed in their homemade aioli. I've had a ton of lobster rolls out here, and this ranks up at the top with my favorites. Even though I was already pretty full from their generous appetizer portions, I ensured I ate every last bite. Speaking of the appetizers, they were all amazing: we got the shishito peppers, honey butter chips, and pork bao buns. We definitely could have just gotten one but couldn't choose. The shishito peppers were perfectly charred with some nice seasoning. My husband wanted the honey butter potato chips and I thought they sounded boring, but they were a hit!! Thick cut chips that were so addictive with that delicious honey butter. And the pork bao buns had a fluffy outside, tender pork inside, and some tangy kimchi and cucumbers to make every bite a perfect blend of flavors and textures. My husband got the lamb flatbread with grilled peaches and burrata for dinner and after the hefty appetizer portions, we were worried it was going to be huge. However, it was the perfect size for a personal entrée (although if you filled up on apps like us, you could definitely split). The delicious crust was fluffy yet with a crispy bottom to hold all of the toppings, which blended so deliciously together: sweet grilled peach with the savory and tender lamb with a creamy and salty burrata. I definitely stole some bites! The service was excellent and attentive, and the interior of the restaurant was super cute. Absolutely worth a stop for dinner if you're in the North Fork!

So good!!! We came to greenport for lunch and Ellen's exceeded all expectations. The Korean fried rice was my favorite. So good and the chicken was great inside of it. Would eat it a million times again. Whipped ricotta was also delicious and the yuzu aioli under the artichokes made the dish so fresh. The shroom and burrata salad was also great. The bread here is so good. Service is fast and really nice interior.

This was my first time here for dinner while visiting in Greenport and found the restaurant very inviting. When you enter there's a lovely bar with a portrait of Ellen above it . Everyone was very polite and friendly. The restaurant is beautifully decorated , clean and neat with fresh flowers and candle's on the tables . We had made reservations and when we arrived we were told our table wasn't ready yet so we waited for about 20 minutes at the bar before being seated and ordered a glass of wine . Once seated we ordered the calamari as our appetizer. There was definitely enough for two to share .It was very tasty and perfectly fried but I was expecting it to be a bit more tender than it was . Needless to say we still enjoyed it . Although there were some very unique dishes to select I decided to go with the Ellen's Burger ,medium rare , with salad instead of the fries . WOW. It was cooked to perfection , very flavorful! The salad was crisp and fresh with a light sweet vinaigrette dressing on it that I thought was so delicious! We shared and enjoyed a Panna - Cotta for dessert which was nicely made , sweet and creamy . The owner , Andrew was very attentive and came over several times to our table to ask how our meal was . He chatted with us and we learned he was Ellen's son ! Thank you for a wonderful evening !

Dinner here on a Saturday night and I had such a pleasant experience. The restaurant is on the smaller side and feels cozy and warm, decorated beautifully and with a nice bar area. I loved the counter/bar stools by the windows on one side, perfect for people watching. Had a lovely two person table tucked away up against a window, the best seat in the house in my opinion! The service was pleasant and kind, attentive and making sure that things were good and that we were enjoying our food. Very interesting menu with unexpected flavor combinations, making Ellen's a unique experience. The food was fresh and cooked very well. Make a reservation to ensure you can snag a table!

We've been coming to Greenport for years, but somehow have missed this place. Using Yelp! to guide us, we decided to give this place a try. Once inside we were greeted by the cheerful hostess. Close to dinner without a reservation they were able to accommodate us. This two-level restaurant is not big so I suggest a reservation. I loved the vibe. It's very welcoming and the positive energy is refreshing. As we dined we were warmly greeted by one of the owners, who shared that his sister is the mastermind chef working behind the scenes. He thanked us for stopping in and having dinner with them. A very nice touch! The food was good. We would definitely come back. But it wasn't overly special where we HAVE to.

We ordered several dishes to share so we could sample as much of the menu as possible. We started with a half dozen oysters featuring three different varieties. They were incredibly fresh, and we loved every one of them. The accompanying sauces were the perfect complement. From the Small Plates menu, we ordered the watermelon salad. It was a generous portion and absolutely delicious. Perfect for a warm summer evening. I especially loved the combination of arugula, fresh mint, and both yellow and red watermelon. The cocoa nibs were an unexpected touch that added wonderful texture and flavor. It's not something I ever would have thought to add to a watermelon salad, but it worked beautifully. I can't wait to order it again. Next came the Long Island calamari frito misto with rock shrimp. The lightly battered calamari and shrimp were perfectly crisp, and the addition of fennel added a unique flavor that elevated the entire dish. It was simply superb. We also shared the red crab tacos. There are three tacos per order, which worked out perfectly since each of us could enjoy one. This was another standout. I love crab but usually shy away from mayonnaise-based salads. Whatever they did with this crab salad completely won me over. It was light, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The Long Island Duck BBQ, served with pulled duck, cheddar grits, and scallions, was another pleasant surprise. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it was outstanding. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the creamy cheddar grits paired perfectly with the tender duck. It was another creative dish that showcased the kitchen's talent. We also ordered a side of baby spinach so we'd have a vegetable to round out the meal, and even that was perfectly prepared and very flavorful. When I say everything was exceptional, I truly mean it. Every dish arrived beautifully presented, at the perfect temperature, expertly seasoned, and bursting with flavor. Our server, Jennifer Farino, kept everything running seamlessly despite all of our shared plates and courses. She was attentive, friendly, and made the entire evening even more enjoyable. My friends ordered Hugo Spritzes while I enjoyed a raspberry Stoli Cosmopolitan. The cocktails were outstanding as well. Kudos to the bartender! When it came time for dessert, we asked Jennifer to surprise us with her selections. While every dessert was delicious, my absolute favorite was the cinnamon sugar beignets with bourbon caramel dipping sauce. They were warm, light, and completely irresistible. I could eat them every day! In fact, I'd happily return just for those beignets. We originally had an indoor reservation, but when we arrived we were fortunate enough to be seated outside, where seating is first-come, first-served. It couldn't have worked out better. The weather was beautiful, making for a perfect summer evening. Even the background music was thoughtfully chosen and played at just the right volume, creating a wonderful atmosphere. From the food and drinks to the service and ambiance, everything about our evening at Noah's was exceptional. We all left saying the same thing: this was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. Noah's has truly set the bar high, and we can't wait to return.

There's a bar and a restaurant across the street. The restaurant was closed. The bar may have been open. Popped in for a quick weekend lunch since they had visibly open tables and we were seated right away. The person who showed us to our table led the way, and then dropped menus and utensils in a booth and kept walking. As soon as we made our way through the small restaurant, the absolute filth of the place was the only thing I could focus on. There were food scraps and garbage littering almost every surface of the floor. Our own table had dirty napkins, crumbs and half spilled sugar packets underneath, and the bench needed a wipe down before I could sit. Condiments on the table were dirty and if you moved them, the table was covered with crumbs underneath so no one is moving the condiments to clean. The bathroom was equally disgusting and unkempt. Despite all signs pointing to that we should've left immediately, we were hungry and had been driving for awhile. The food/drink was nothing like the other locations we've visited. In my 20 years of ordering Mimosas, I have never before been asked if I wanted a single or a double. It's prosecco, not shots. I went for the single because my expectations were low, and was presented with a weird little lowball glass of pineapple juice and a jigger of prosecco. That is completely ridiculous to cut a serving in half and call it a "single". For $12 you can buy an entire decent bottle of prosecco, and probably at least three bottles of whatever cheap they're serving. It feels like a cheat not to get a full serving. I ordered the Bootlegger for my meal which is fried chicken, melted cheese, bacon and Russian dressing on a roll. It arrived on a tiny hamburger bun with no dressing. Our server came once to ask how everything was the moment the plates were set down, and left when I told her I hadn't tried it yet. It then took about 10 minutes to obtain a side of dressing once I noticed my sandwich was dry. It was edible, but definitely not worth ever having again. My husband ordered corned beef hash and eggs, which was a plate filled with boxed potato sprinkled with pieces of corned beef. Eggs were fine. We did not use any of the condiments since it was clear they hadn't been swapped out or cleaned, and really tried to get out of this dirty environment as fast as possible. Servers were all concentrated in the bar area, some on phones clearly not busy...so it makes one wonder why no one thought to sweep the floor or wipe down a table. The state of the dining room was truly disgusting and honestly surprising. Our server barely attended to us so we opted not to bring this complaint to her directly and judging by the demeanor of the other staff, there wasn't a manger on duty. The bigger problem here is that if the public-facing front of house can look that way, I can only imagine how the kitchen is kept. We will never return to this location and sincerely hope it can be brought up to the same standards as the others.
