The last couple of times that I've come to Ellie I have not been satisfied because my eyebrows have not been done properly. By that, I mean that she's not detail oriented and I end up having to pluck some of the hairs she missed. However, this time it's worse than usual. My right eyebrow is messy. I asked for thick eyebrows but that's what I always ask for and they are always shaped nicely. This looks messy and they're not even. Anyway, when she hands you the mirror, make sure you take a good look before you get out of that chair. I didn't and that was my fault.

I usually make a whole drive to go to other eyebrow threading places, but I wanted to try one more local to me. THIS. THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. Ellie threaded my eyebrows and she was the kindest and most courteous lady I have ever had do my eyebrows. She asked if it was my first time there and she introduced herself. Her threading is very gentle too. I've been to many places where they just tear through my skin. She's an angel and you gotta go and support her business! She's REALLY good at what she does. I'll be going to her from now on.

Just moved to Whittier and yelped eyebrow places. Ellie's was highly recommended and to be honest she did not disappoint. Ellie is so nice and welcoming! This eyebrow threading is my go to. Ellie knows what she's doing and always shapes my eyebrows just the way I want them. Days she's not there, I end up settling for another spot. And it never fails, they make my eyebrows too thin. I promise, if you want thick full eyebrows, come here. It usually takes two visits for them to come out perfect. Wonderful customer service! You don't have to tell her how you want your eyebrows she just knows and never fails! Very affordable, clean and fast. No appointment necessary, but call her just in case because she is a mom and runs in and out in of the shop often. You'll be done in about 5 minutes if you are just getting a clean up. Cash Only FYI.... Ellie is amazing and very welcoming. I can't tell you the last time I got my eyebrows threaded. As soon as I walked in, she noticed my eyebrows were uneven and cleaned them up beautifully. She also made recommendations on shaping my brow with a little arch for lift. Ellie finished with a face massage;I almost fell asleep. Highly recommend her business to others. read more

I have been going to Ellie for my eyebrows for few years now. In the past, I have always done waxing for my eyebrows and she was the first I tried for threading. She's the sole reason why I prefer threading over waxing now, and the only person I'll probably go to for it. I went to her with a referral from both my sisters (who also both regularly go to Ellie). I know I could relay on her to make my eyebrows look clean and not over- threaded. She always asks me before threading if I want just a cleaning or an arch, and I am always happy with the result. Upon entering the shop, she is always so sweet and welcoming, and will always make it known to you that she appreciates your business with her. The place is clean and sanitary, and is the best priced threading I've come to find so far (please do note that this business is **CASH ONLY**) Only main downside that I could think of is that Ellie is the only person in the shop who threads. I would definitely call before going to make sure that she is there and that the shop is open. If there is no answer, it is highly likely that she's not open for the day. Also, if you come on a busy day, you may have to wait a little while before receiving services.. She takes around 5 minutes per person. I would suggest coming in at non-peak hours. I heard that busy times are usually on Friday and Saturday mornings. Afternoons after 4 PM, and during the weekdays, are usually slower and a good time to go. Another upside of coming at slow times is that Ellie will not have to feel as rushed and will spend extra time threading. I also like that she has a rewards card- if you accumulate 10 visits, you get a threading for free! I definitely would recommend her services to anyone looking for a good threading! read more

If you have nothing else other than good eyebrows, then you already have all you need! I've been to Ellie's a few times but she's become my go to eyebrow place. As a native of Whittier, I've been to the other places it has to offer and no one has kept me consistently happy like Ellie. At first, I was worried because my eyebrows didn't come out as sleek as they would on a good day but she assured me that she kept eyebrows thick, and after 3-4 visits I noticed my eyebrows were thicker! She had been leaving a little more than I would've liked, but it in the end it paid off because they were thicker than they had been in years. It's a small shop in Uptown, it's clean, airconditioned, and she's beyond sweet. I highly recommend and trust her with my eyebrows. read more

What a sweet and talented woman! She truly paid attention to the natural shape of my eyebrows and communicated what she was doing to make my eyebrows more symmetrical. Another customer walked in while she was working on my brows and she acknowledged them and thanked them for waiting. By far the nicest person I've ever met! So professional and to top it off she re shaped my eyebrows!! And this is a good thing believe me! I used to make the drive to downey for this one lady but damn, I got lazy sometimes and would go weeks without attending to my bi- weekly beauty appointments. Anywho, I'm glad I found my new spot. The place was a little crowded and she was the only one working at the time, so it felt a little rushed. But the results were great, so I am giving this place a 5 star rating anyway! P.S. Ellie is my favorite person to go to to thread my eyebrows. She was the first person I ever tried 3 years ago and she has not disappointed since. Ellie is great at helping your eyebrows look the best! But don't go to her if you are looking for a quick fix. She will ask you to grow them out for a while before you can see the final product. Her prices are great so that's why I didn't mind going back to her every 3-4 wks for a quick clean up. I've been going to her for about 6 months now and I can finally say my eyebrows have that nice thick natural look to them that I was looking to achieve! The process was well worth it, I would recommend her to anyone trying to fix their eyebrows. The only thing you will definitely need like she says is patience ;) read more

After several weeks of prepping my skin with red light therapy and using Aestura to help strengthen my skin barrier, the pigment finally stayed. Overall, the lack of clear communication and the way the situation was handled left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied with my experience.

Walking into Onyx completely changed my expectations. Tyn is truly one of a kind. Where do I even begin? He treats every client with genuine respect and gives 110% every single appointment. One thing that really stuck with me was seeing him work on his own birthday. Instead of taking the day off, he came in with a smile, took care of his clients, and made sure everyone left happy. That says a lot about the kind of person and professional he is. He's also a perfectionist in the best way possible. He constantly checks in throughout the appointment, asking if you love your nails. If something isn't exactly how you envisioned it, he'll gladly fix it until you're completely happy. He truly stands behind his work. A few months ago, I injured my hands and thought my natural nails were beyond saving. Tyn suggested switching to builder gel and simply told me, "Trust the process." I'm so glad I listened. Three months later, my natural nails are healthier and stronger than they've ever been. I used to be one of those "every two weeks" girls, but he always laughs and tells me, "Come on, I love you, but two weeks is too soon!" That's just how well his work holds up. The salon itself is always spotless, welcoming, and relaxing. The music is always on point, the sangria is a nice little treat, and every appointment honestly feels like a mini vacation instead of just another nail appointment. Everyone at Onyx is wonderful, but I also have to give a special shout-out to Myly Cyrus. She's the sweetest "cute auntie" and the absolute best when it comes to ingrown nail removal. She makes something uncomfortable feel easy. Onyx Nail Lounge is nothing like your typical nail chop shop. They care about the health of your nails, they care about their clients, and they take pride in every service they provide. That's hard to find these days. The first time I came after getting my nails done the nail tech mentioned how I can come in 1-2 weeks to get a refill on my nails. When I came the second time for the refill the person stated that I could not do a refill and that instead I needed to do a completely new set. I am upset that the nail tech lied to me. Never coming to this place again I do not like when the nail tech told me one thing and then charged differently. It is a very predatory tactic. Highly disappointed with my experience. Also for me they put something on my feet and it burned. One of my toes was left with a burn mark. The nail tech also didn't really understand English so it took her awhile to take off the product so I had to dip my foot inside so I wouldn't burn the rest of my toes.

I went to Ellie eyebrow place because i was getting fed up with others who claim they have all this experience however, ruin my eyebrows..last place i went too at the cerritos mall the girl rauined my eyebrows..she cut off my arches, and left them looking like a chola a gangsta girl..i had to fill them until some of my eyebrows grew back..six months later i havent touch or didnt trust anyone, i decided to go Ellie..she was so kind, very sincere, she made me feel so comfortable..i explained to her my situation and she listen to what i wanted..she also recommended to continue letting my archs to grow and she showed me where my eyebrows needed growing..she is inexpensive..which i love..her place is clean..love it!! i totally recommend her and i plan on returning back to her... read more

I decided to try Ellie's threading after reading her reviews. I am pleased to say she is everything I read and more.. and very skilled at her work ( 24 yrs of experience). She knew at first glance what I would want and expect of my brows. I had my brows done elsewhere and I was left with uneven, misshapened thinned arches. She is A M A Z I N G Soooo reasonably priced and always so welcoming, she knew mine and my sister's names within 2 visits. She will be my forever eyebrow lady!! Very knowledgeable and does not chop off shape of eyebrows. I've been to other places where they sit you in the chair and start without asking how you want your eyebrows done.
