That time was pre covid. This time it was during covid and she was showing her acrylics. You should have seen them being purchased. They sold like hot cakes. It was unbelievable. I was there there for the opening and only 30 minutes after it opened. They were practicing safe covid procedures and when i left there was over 5 people waiting to get in. The gallery always have note worth pieces. I really enjoy the gallery and will return. The gallery is next to the fox and goose and has free parking right outside.

Wow, small but beautiful art! Three different artists that day! I ask, the owner saying this is Second Edition! I asked as I thought I had seen, theirs is older edition, she the owner saying some pages in my book not in their edition! This is a nice gallery! She signed it, telling me what galleries are close walking of Sheraton! I think most know as many places got autographs, they say equivalent of, "Welcome to Sacramento! The gallery lights against the white walls makes for a very bright room. Today was 2nd Saturday so the place was packed. It was good to see so many people visiting the gallery. My favorite exhibit was the deconstructed bird nest. I couldn't tell the exact medium it was made it. It looked like the pieces of the nest were encased in glass. It was very fun. I wasn't aware if the artist was onsite. It would have been nice if they were to tell me more about their exhibit. I would have loved to tell them that it was really impressive and creative. Parking is street parking. We parked a few blocks away and found a good spot that is usually 2 hours, but on the weekend it's free parking all day, no limits. They have unisex bathrooms.

Though I did feel a little silly, this walk lead me to the lovely Axis gallery. This place was actually crowded! Which is basically why I ended up jaywalking to check out this gallery I've never heard of or seen before. It's rare for an only art gallery to be so packed, crowded spaces are usually reserved for establishments that also serve another purpose i.e. Luigi's, Bow's and Arrow's, etc. Axis Gallery is also split into two major rooms allowing a showcase to have a story effect if preferred. The space isn't overwhelming and it doesn't make me feel claustrophobic. The walls were all white and very clean, as expected of an art gallery.The Axis Gallery's lighting didn't completely light up the room, rather, it was focused on the work, making each piece even more intense. Though certain placements of art weren't the best, in my opinion,(dark wall near the toilets) the majority of it was beautiful and balanced. At the time, one room had work from various artists up for auction and another was a showcasing from one artist. Works up for auction were beautiful and random. They were all from different artists so it's not expected for it to have a cohesive idea. The other room was computer generated works by a fellow whose name I've forgotten. His art work wasn't as interesting as the ideas behind it. I wasn't a huge fan of his work but he seemed like an artist who had a good portfolio, something I'm sure the gallery looks for. If I ever venture out to the painful 2nd Saturdays again I'd definitely check out Axis.

We were greeted by a friendly man and women (owners) and were asked if we would like to self tour or would we like a guided tour. The women spoke about each piece and the artist and was amazed on her knowledge of the art/artist. There are beautiful well known artist whom art is being displayed. There is a lot of art ranging from a few hundred to ten thousand dollars. They are not open to the public and are only by appointment through the week, but they do have their gallery open every 2nd Saturday 12-6 with new art! The lady mentioned if someone is interested all they have to do is call and make an appointment. The owners are so friendly and warm. Such a great addition to Sacramento with the opening of Evolve. I was very impressed with the art work and can not wait until next month to see their next collection!!!

My first time visiting the Exhibition Hub Art Center although in the past I know they had a Vincent…read moreVan Gogh exhibit and most recently the Dinos Alive Immersive Experience. I've seen a different-but-similar Van Gogh exhibit in downtown Sacramento before, but this time around West Sac is featuring the work of Claude Monet. Adult tickets general admission for a Monday evening came out to $26.90+$8 fees. Pricing for Thursdays & Fridays is slightly more, and weekends are the most. Kids 4-12yo are less ($18-$22) and there are discounts for seniors 65+, juniors 13-17, students 18+, and military. VIP pricing includes entry with skip-the-line, VIP experience, and a poster or merch discount. There are also bundles for groups (8+), and add-ons like flexible ticket times, AI photos, and merch. Extremely limited parking in front of the building, with multiple cones and lines marked as valet parking. Across 15th Street there was a small black sign saying "Parking $5" but nowhere to pay, took a gamble. The only alternative I can think of is parking near the residential area past Whiteys Jolly Kone and walking. Look for the banner above the main entrance as the building and doors themselves are painted entirely white. If you bought your tickets in advance on Fever, then it's easy to scan QR codes for admission. Bathrooms were past the 2nd or 3rd room in the hallway featuring the Garden at Giverny. Note that in the bright white-walled eastern Normandy room replica with the furniture and paintings, the carpets/rugs are a bit uneven so watch your step. After the Garden Hallway in the room with the projected koi pond and bridges, also note that the wooden bridges are steep arches and coming down the opposite side also needs care, but there is artifical grass if you misstep. The first couple rooms explained Monet's beginnings and techniques that led to the Impressionist style. There was a looping video showing his inspiration from Boudin and French compatriots as well as Japanese artists, and his use of color and light. The Normandy room had furniture like couches and desks, easels and letters, and the walls of artwork of course. The photo of the bright yellow dining room and blue kitchen would have also been a cool thing to bring to life. The hallway leading to the garden at Giverny set the tone for the water garden itself in the next area, with projections of koi swimming in the lily pond, and two parallel Japanese bridges with wisteria vines. The next room is the biggest with screens on all sides, bamboo folding sling chairs and wooden benches and fans so you could immerse yourself in the 360-degree digital art show featuring the artist's masterpieces, with music and sound effects. Two more rooms after this, including the coloring station where you could choose from 10 different coloring pages of Monet pieces, and provided crayons. You could take your page home, pin it to the wall, or scan/project into a digital frame. The last room had a virtual reality area but that cost $5 per person. Finally, the gift shop for merchandise on your way out including shirts, magnets, posters, bookmarks, paint-by-number kits, coloring books, jewelry. Give yourself 1-1.5 hours to walk through. We arrived around 6:40PM for a 6:30PM ticket time (30-minute time slots) and stayed until closing time. The workers did give us a warning when in the big room that there were 2 rooms left and they were closing in a half hour, then when at the coloring station when it was 5 minutes until closing.
