I'll never call anyone else! We had a large bookcase and I wasn't sure if there was a way move it up 2 floors. So I tried to measure and the case and the tight staircase that it was going to get through. I wasn't sure if it would fit. We thought we may have to cut the legs off so that it would fit. Elmer and his awesome crew squeezed thorough with less than an inch to spare with No damage to the bookcase or the stairway. USE CAUTION. This review is for moving services related to using Elmer's Express Delivery. I purchased a $3200.00 bookshelf from Bramble Homestore in Everett, WA, and was told that they use Elmer for their deliveries. When I contacted him, he initially gave me a delivery cost of $185.00, then later changed it to $200-225.00 because there were 16 steps (understandable). This was a quote for a much heavier item that measured 104" H x 24" D x 99" W. When I contacted him on Saturday before my purchase, I sent him the dimension of a different item that measured 81" H x19" Dx87" W. When we spoke, Elmer initially quoted me $200.00 and a delivery time of Thursday afternoon (in writing). After the Bramble purchase, he changed the same quote to $250.00 and told me that he could no longer deliver it on Thursday and would have to get back to me on a date for delivery. When I asked "why the change in the delivery date, and the difference in price for a smaller and lighter item," he indicated that he has a full service moving company and booked that time and date to another customer. He also didn't like to be questioned and stated there was a misunderstanding regarding the delivery time and date. He also said that it's often challenging to quote a delivery fee until it was picked up and delivered before he could name a final price. i.e., based on the overall level of difficulty. As a consumer that has done this before, it's pretty straight forward. It was two miles from the purchase location for a real wood bookshelf that comes in two pieces and needs to be brought up a single flight of stairs (16 steps, straight up) into a bedroom at the top of the stairs. If you're considering a purchase from Bramble in Everett, they ONLY use this guy... Looking into him a little more, I discovered that he is not a licensed or insured mover. read more

Great team of guys. We bought a mattress from The 6 day mattress store in Redmond. After getting home we realized we needed box springs. These guys must have had them on their truck because 5 minutes after making the call to purchase them they showed up. I looked down at my 4 year old son and said, "wow that was fast" and he said "of course their fast Dad, they have a cheetah truck".. well I hadn't noticed but there was a cheetah painted on the side of the truck. Nuff said. Very professional and fast. If you need movers I highly recommend them. I got a courteous call well before delivery with a detailed explanation and estimated time of arrival from a very friendly individual. My family just bought two mattresses from Six Day Mattress in Redmond. Elmer delivered one to my parents one day and one to me the next day. Since I was at work, my dad was the one who let Elmer and his crew in to my house. However, I did talk to Elmer to set up the time for my delivery. I told him at that time that I wanted to make sure that my dad didn't touch a thing during either delivery - he's going through treatment and I had visions of him trying to help (which he totally would have). Elmer said he'd handle it - and he did. The delivery at my parents' house involved more than just dropping off the one mattress, they also moved another one upstairs and removed a different one. And my dad never touched a thing or, as best I can tell, went upstairs. For my move, same thing - my dad just opened the door. For both deliveries, Elmer was there on time and the set-up only took about 10 minutes. I've moved a lot (military family) and I know moving mattresses can be cumbersome. Nothing was disturbed in my room - the nightstands and everything on them were exactly as I'd left them. Great company. read more

These guys are great! I bought a mattress at the Six Day Mattress store and they use Elmer for all of their deliveries. I bought my mattress less than 2.5 hours ago and it's in my bedroom. Right now. Seriously. Elmer and team are professional and courteous, arriving promptly and even removing their shoes and laying down a mat to protect my carpet. Had some furniture ordered from a store nearby, they used Elmer's Express to deliver it. They called me up the day of the schedule to let me know what time I could expect it, then later called to let me know that they were ahead of schedule. That worked out for me, they got here and the two guys that were sent over were great. It was raining and wet outside and they removed their shoes before coming in, and laid down mats to protect the floor as they worked. They had an entire bedroom set up and moved in/constructed in less than thirty minutes, great job with it as well - getting it right where I wanted, and so far - built great. Elmer himself made sure to communicate what time to expect the delivery, and was friendly and flexible enough to schedule in the best time for me. I have spent the last week calling and calling for a business that would help me move my library book boxes down from my top floor out to the garage. NO one wants such a small job...not moving companies, not staffing agencies, "task" companies, or non-profits. All had a large minimum or were booked until the next millennium. (they are the company that delivered my mattress, set it up, and removed the old one....why did it take me so long to call them??...slap forehead) I got Elmer himself on the phone. "Sure" he says, "I can come over in 30 minutes." Cue the sounds of angels...this is amazing even for a great company like Elmer's. Elmer and another mover arrived right on time, got to work, and knocked out the project in about forty-five minutes. Their rate was very reasonable ESPECIALLY for same-day service. We did not have a good experience with this delivery service. Our delivery was suppose to be made by 9:30 am, I made it very clear when coordinating the delivery that my husband could be home in the morning but that he needed to leave no later than 10:30 to get to work. I was assured that they would be there by 10 am. The crew did not show up until 10:45 am, making my husband over 30 minutes late for work. We did not receive any communication from the driver at all letting us know they were running late. When I called and talked to the owner, he did not even apologize for the fact that his crew was over an hour late, he blamed their being late on the store that we made our purchase from and that the roads were bad due to snowy conditions..... The store opened at 9 am and is 20 minutes away from my house. My commute into work that morning at 7:45 am was clear and wet, the roads were just fine getting into Redmond from Carnation. Way to be accountable guys. Never using this service again. read more

I needed a new mattress quickly, and thanks to Elmer, problem solved! Turns out he was going to be in my area that evening and could add my delivery to his route.
