The place is Alejandra's, and the creation is some of the best quesadillas you can get in LA. Coming up to the stand, you eye the menu and make your order, $8 dollars each or $10 for a dual topping type. There is potentially a bit of a wait due to every meal being freshly made on order, but it is a good and worthwhile wait, the staff, clientele, and food being most hospitable. At your order, purple dough is flattened to a blue corn tortilla, each tortilla freshly pressed and grilled in front of you. You watch it sizzle and rise brown, flip over, and continue its cycle to grow crisp. Topping highlights for me include squash blossoms and pork, which is chicharrones with a surprising crisp and crunch better than almost any other I've had, the ring of each bite echoing autumn leaves crunching under my feet, its condensed jerky flavour hemorrhaging in the still present sweetness of a meat once juicy. The stand provides a salsa bar with red and green sauces available, and other vegatative essentials- onion, cilantro, and pepper- serve as a lush and fresh forestry for the surprisingly substantial spice of the salsa to lick upon; piled upon the mountain of food and flavour, the green and red splatters evoked the Hollywood Hills, the red salsa smokey and particularly burning like the fires of last year. It's an addicting taste well worth the visit and short walk to sit and enjoy the meal in Echo Park. I'm excited to come back and try more ingredients for sure, very likely two or three quesadillas at a time to help expedite the process, as it can't be helped. 6.4/10

Alejandra opened the cart and her daughter Britany runs it sometimes. We met Britany this time. Cash or Zelle only.

Good night market event. Best part is the performing stage. Like a mini concert. Closer to closing…read moretime, the bigger the artist. They have lots of food vendors, not all the same as the typical 626 night market vendors tho. Venue is placed inside a highschool. The vendors are on race track, basketball courts, and good ol' lawn. This year (first opening after pandemic) they have less vendors than before. But place is jammed packed the later it gets. They have big seating area and nice spots in corners for you to sit on the floor tho. Ticket is $10 (plus service fee if you buy online). Parking structure is $18. You will have to walk, since it's in the middle of city.

KTown Night Market is the first night market I have been to in a while, and It did NOT disappoint…read more And after reading the older Yelp reviews for this event (done pre-pandemic), I thought it time to update! Located at RFK High School in Koreatown LA, this location was central and provided lots of space for food stands, food trucks, games, merch stands, drink stands, music stage, you name it. They even had a (huge) sneaker expo stand! I did not see any performers on the music stage, but they posted some content online and it looks like they killed it! Minzy from 2NE1 headlined the first night. I did not have a chance to see everything as I was with a group of people (takes longer to do virtually everything), but there was so much to see! The food I did try: Xing Fu Tang strawberry boba, yakitori yado mochi chicken skewer, kimchi rice ball, pork belly rice ball, thai basil chicken. Everything was good. It was busy! Get there early as by 7:30pm or so it was wall to wall people (some wearing masks, some not as they were recommended only). Had a great time - they have rebooted this event so well!
