    Metal shaving in my bagel
    Ryan Scott M.

I found a piece of metal in my bagel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sue M.

Walking by to my massage place and came across Eltana. The lure of woodfired bagels drew me in. I got a sandwich and it came with a pickle, orange slice and some bagel chips. It was a tasty sandwich but the turmeric chicken fell out and marked up my white coat. We ordered a drip coffee and a tall latte and the total was just short of $30. Kind of spendy for what we got. The folks at the counter were friendly and helpful.

Eltana has a new wood fired flatbread that is delicious. I had the artichoke one; it was tasty and filling. Enjoy! Full disclosure: I have a small interest in this business. To my credit it is my first time posting about it!

Bagel, Cream Cheese & Double Lox Fixings

Was in need of a quick breakfast and this spot was around the corner from where we were staying. Overall, it was solid, but nothing overly special. Went with the double lox sandwich special and a cold brew, which put me back $25 -- definitely a bit pricy. The toppings including the lox were all very good. I found the bagel to be a bit flat, a bit mealy and didn't get much of the wood oven flavor they advertise. The place is very open and welcoming inside. The staff were fine, but not overly friendly or engaged. Closer to a 3.5, but a 3 feels too low so I'm rounding up.

Salt Bagel, Lox Spread on a Bagel, Wheat Bagel, 8 oz. Fava Bean

I was set on running to get a bagel on Christmas Eve morning, but most bagel places were closed for the holidays. Luckily, Eltana was open! I've had Eltana bagels catered at events several times, but haven't actually been to their shop. I ordered a salt bagel with salmon cream cheese. My fiancé is vegan, so he ordered a whole wheat bagel with basil fava bean spread. Our bagels arrived toasted, which we hadn't asked for. Usually I like to get bagels un-toasted when they are fresh, though it was still good! I did like how much salmon was in the salmon cream cheese, and the bagels were good. I liked seeing them bake the bagels in the large wood fire oven at the front of the store. My fiancé was also a big fan of their drip coffee. The beans are sourced from a local micro roastery, was affordable, and a good simple cup of coffee.

    To good to go bag!

This review is for the Too Good To Go surprise bag. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to have enough bagels for both the week and the freezer. This was my first time at Eltana and I personally like how the bagels are a little more manageable in size and that they're naturally a little sweeter. They were fresh with good chew! I liked the cinnamon raisin, whole wheat, and sesame the best. A couple min in the toaster was perfect. Set your expectations because the style is simply different than Ny style.

Rainbow bagel with red pepper walnut hummus
    Vincent Y.

Their Bagel with cream cheese and lox was good, just not as good as the ones I've had in NYC. The bagel to lox ratio was off and definitely needed more of that smoked salmon. However, I did return a few days later and got a rainbow bagel which looked very cool and had their red pepper hummus with cucumbers on it and that was amazing. They have very tasty bagels, that are toasted to order.

Turkey Bacon Egg Sandwich on Sesame Bagel Bacon Egg Sandwich on Salt Bagel Infused Butter on Everything Bagel

When walking into this bagel shop you can see the workers hand rolling the bagels. The service was fast and the workers would easily help with recommendations or clarify anything on the menu. There was lots of seating and room to work or talk with others. The bagel itself was okay there was nothing outstanding but it hit the spot in a pinch. Overall would come back for the vibe and to try the different cream cheese flavors.

    Mozzarella turkey bacon sandwich
    Megan L.

This is my second visit and the second time I've been left with the impression that the food rises merely to "okay". The bagel itself is fine. I got the egg, cheese, turkey bacon sandwich. It is dry and lacks flavor. The egg would be better if it were cooked less and more gently, with some salt. Mozzarella never has any flavor, so cheddar or something like Gouda would be a better choice. Turkey bacon may be better for my cardiovascular health, but it is a big disappointment for something with "bacon" in the name. Service was prompt and friendly. The interior has nice windows and is clean. The toilets are also acceptably clean.

Lox Plate (1 of 3 identical pieces)

Anywhere you go for a bagel and lox in Seattle, it's going to be $12-20, averaging $16 or so in this area. But the quality/quantity truly varies, and of the many o' spots I've sought out the right one - eltana has shown to have the freshest ingredients and most reasonable amounts of food for the average pricey price ($15.75). The photo attached is just 1 of 3 almost identical pieces I assembled from what comes with the lox plate! It comes disassembled, but this was everything in the box split equally on each of the 3 provided bagel halves. This was with ~heavy shmear~ (no upcharge for that btw). It's simple - a great bagel, this homemade cream cheese of sorts, "fresh" smoked salmon, plentiful capers and pickled additions, and cucumbers. Note: this rating is for this menu item alone bc it's been a venture of mine, but happy to be able to report out in it!

    Bagel with plain cream cheese
    Kelly L.

Easy breakfast place! Came here for breakfast and we ordered two bagels with plain cream cheese and lox spread respectively, together with a chai latte. While we liked the bagels & drinks, it was also nothing out of the ordinary. We like how spacious the place is as well, making the dining experience very comfortable. The staff were also very nice and friendly - would recommend if you're looking for something easy for breakfast!

The metal shelves were superbly organized and packed full of bagels. Easy to get to by bus from downtown. Charming and cheerful staff. I went on a Saturday morning around 1030 and there was only a small line, which moved very quickly. This is not a cafe - you are here to buy bagels and the fixings. Okay, they also sell coffee and tea, muffins, and a yummy chocolate chip cookie. (Had to try one if I'm coming all the way from downtown!) Bagels were baked perfectly. Each one looks as if it was made individually- the level of detail of the flavors, rhe color, the texture. Nice chewy crust with a light interior. They toast up beautifully (at home - no slicing or roasting at the bakery). This is a bagel that says "hey, have another one" rather than the kind which lay in your stomach. On my most recent visit, I also tried the black sesame bagel with butter. They share a great outdoor seating area with Sea Wolf Bakers and also have a small amount of indoor seating. There's usually a line on weekday mornings and a longer one on weekends, but it moves surprisingly quickly, so the wait has never felt unreasonable. A few things to consider: I've never had a bagel on its own here, only a bagel sandwich. So I don't feel as though I can give an expert opinion on the bagels. However, they do work very well for the sandwiches. The everything bagel is absolutely loaded with seasoning, and has an incredible saltiness (I'm a salty man, so this is a good thing). I feel as though this elevates the eggs to a new level. I was immediately drawn to a pastrami breakfast sandwich, because it's a top tier meat. This will feel more like you're eating thin roast beef because of the color, but it's still pretty good. I do think that this sandwich needs some acidity to balance out all of the fat, so grab some hot sauce at the counter. Overall this was a great sandwich, and I would get it again. That being said, I feel like the bagels are lacking due to a fault in a core ingredient. They all come with potatoes, and I think that they're either boiled or not quite roasted enough. Having to deal with undercooked potatoes dispersed throughout a mondo burrito is a battle that I'm unwilling to wage - but people seem to love 'em. The other ingredients and overall flavor is nice, though. Rachel's is a fun place with good coffee, too. And they let me bring my dog in which is dope.
