Not a bad place if you know what to expect. Ambiance is meh. authentic Italian dishes? You can tell by by the excessive menu choices that's not possible. I ordered an "Elvinos Stromboli" and got a nice calzone. I ordered a large Greek salad and got a pile of shredded iceburg lettuce with some feta on top. My wife ordered eggplant parm. with spaghetti. The serving size of the eggplant parm was smallish. The spaghetti was al dente as it should be. Tasty sauce. We saw the pizza, and it looks amazing! My advice? Come for the pizza and anything else with a crust on it (don't expect to get stromboli, I don't think they know what that is).The mushrooms come from a can, so maybe stick to meats on your pie. I am very particular about my pizza (and all Italian food for that matter), as I was raised in New Jersey where New York style pizza and authentic Italian restaurants are as prevalent as Spinx gas stations in the south. I had never heard of Elvino's and knew of no one who had ever been there. Plus, I am always skeptical of southern restaurants claiming to make NY style pizza. But... I had an Attractions book coupon, so I figured I'd give it a try! haha Well, I was pleasantly surprised! This was some of the best NY style pizza I've had in the south, and the pasta dishes were good enough that I would go back and order them again. We had the eggplant parmesan and linguini alfredo with chicken and broccoli - both delicious. The bread sticks were just ok and the side salad was pretty basic - just a tomato slice, red onion and olives, but both were free with the meal, so I couldn't really complain. Plus the Balsamic dressing was home made and excellent. All in all, I am happy to have found this little gem in the Publix parking lot and will definitely be back for more! *My rating is based on the take out food only - I couldn't really rate the restaurant itself since they are not open for sit down at the moment due to a shortage of workers. read more

Amazing pizza. The waitress was friendly, personable and attentive. We had the NY white pizza with sausage and the Sicilian BBQ chicken. Both were simply amazing! You can customize your pizza any way you want it. The only feedback I will give somewhat negative is that it was our first time there so we assumed the waitress would come back for the check like a typical restaurant but it took us a good while to figure out we had to go to the front. Maybe the owner doesn't want them messing with money but that's a little inconvenient. For me, the food and service outweighed that small con. As one of the better-rated Italian restaurants in Greenville, I was eager to give Elvino's a try. The service was decent, if unremarkable. The salad was fresh and had a good mix of olives and pepperoncini, along with the usual fare. The bread sticks were also good, but I would have preferred to have the butter & garlic sauce on the side. For my entrée, I decided on the Ziti Bolognese. It was served in a delicious pink sauce, both creamy and pleasantly tangy. The dish also contained sausage and chopped tomato, which provided an excellent balance of texture and flavor. Had they melted a layer of mozzarella over the top, this would be a five-star review. Nonetheless, it was very well done and I would definitely order it again. I always enjoy my visits to Greenville, and Elvino's gives me another reason to return. Highly recommended. read more

This is a good, family run business. We were here just before Christmas with our large family. We were seated right away and although we had to wait a bit for food, it was to be expected because of the size of our party. The food was delicious and a good value. The positive stuff- Very clean, staff friendly and food delivered in a timely manner. I was very excited to try this Pizza spot as I am a fan of NY style pizza. On the other side- Food looks appealing and is cooked well but the flavor and seasonings need a huge boost. Overall just very bland. The marinara sauce is flat, I added garlic salt, salt and pepper to make is tasty. The all meat pizza looked decent but the sauce was very basic and the only flavor comes from the meats which is faint. Wife had the lasagna which looks standard and lacked depth if the cheese inside. Hopefully, they can step up the seasoning game or perhaps will be better on next visit. I'm pulling for you. read more

Pizza is so good! We got the Elvino's Special and the crust is thin and chewy. The toppings were generous. Greek salad was a perfect side. They have some construction going on outside their building- I hope this isn't affecting business too much. I'll continue to support them! read more

Sometimes with certain restaurants, you may so happen to go in on a good day and will be disappointed with returning visits, meaning that your first--and best--visit was a fluke. I was sincerely hoping that that wasn't the case with Elvino's, which is why I had to make multiple trips in the area in the past couple of weeks to ensure that the service I was receiving and the quality of the food was indeed genuine. With excellent customer service and high-quality food, I was astonished to see how consistently well everything had been with each visit. I quickly found myself becoming a regular there, not being able to point out a single flaw in this place. The owner is always happy and in a great mood, interacting with customers ensuring that their time at Elvino's is not only enjoyable but will leave a lasting impression on their customers. The staff always gives it their best, and you can really tell they put their heart and soul onto the plate. Attached are some photos of what I've recently tried, and I am proud to say that I've enjoyed every single last bite of it. While one would be politically correct to say that in one of the pictures is a slice of pizza, I would have to say that it's actually a slice of heaven. You can never go wrong with meat lovers; Elvino's manages to continue delivering that wow factor. We picked up our call in dinner which consisted of a Meat Lovers Pizza and large salad with Italian dressing. The pizza was average with nothing being remarkable. The salad was unacceptable as it had slivers of iceberg lettuce possibly appropriate as lettuce on a sandwich but not as expected in a salad. There were a few olive and onion slices, but this did not add up to a large salad priced at $7.50. All in all, a very disappointing meal. We will not return to Elvino's! read more

Attended for lunch w/ 6 friends. All ordered different items and all were perfect and tasty. All seven of us needed separate checks which was done perfectly (with a portable card reader). They put us in an alcove so we could chat amongst ourselves. Very comfortable and the food was very reasonably priced. All were pleased. read more

Both came with house side salads and breadsticks, both of which were okay. The pasta primavera was a large portion. It was also okay, but overall nothing special. His ziti bolognese was delicious.. The creamy red sauce and the meat were full of yummy spice. For dessert we split a cannoli, delicious as expected. I ordered the pizza margarita and a glass of Chianti and was happy with my meal. There are three sizes of pizza 14" 16" and 18". The prices are comparable to other pizzerias. We were seated at a booth in the bar area. The bar could use a little more character. I imagine after awhile the owner will personalize it especially because it is not a full bar (beer and wine only). We stopped in for dinner Saturday evening. Ultimately the food was pretty good. The host stand needs to be a little more attentive to those coming in. I was left standing waiting for about 10-15 mins before someone even talked to me to seat us. The atmosphere was dim & relaxed, private seating with barriers around a bar. When seated we decided to try their wine. We tried their moscato & ended up getting a bottle bc it was pretty good. We ordered chicken parm, alfredo & spaghetti which came with salads and breadsticks. The salads could use some improvements bc it was like a shredded iceberg lettuce, however it tasted fine just isn't the preferred salad green. The breadsticks are a little bland but if you dip in Alfredo they're good. The spaghetti was good, the chicken parm could use a more crispy chicken bc it is breaded but by the time it got to the table it was mushy. The Alfredo however was phenomenal and I would suggest it. Add chicken, bacon or greens and I'm sure it'll be great but even the plain Alfredo had some good flavor to it. We'll be revisiting soon to try it again & I'll update once we do. read more
