Tacos with rice and beans
Alyana S.

It was our first time coming here. It's definitely a hidden hole in the wall shop. They have a variety of foods. I got the tacos and my favorite was the Al pastor and barbacoa. I gave it a 4/5 since the chicken was dry including the chicken on my husbands quesadilla. Otherwise I enjoyed the rice and beans on the side. My husbands favorite was the jamaica drink! I will stop by again!

I returned after 11 years and it's still tasty. I like the sauces you get from the salsa bar. I had a steak taco, pork taco, and a side of beans. My friend had the steak burrito. Service is fast.

I had high hopes but this isn't it. Came in with a friend at not slow but not busy moment. A few people sat around picking at food so I could glance over and look for any patterns in peoples choices. Short line crawled as people asked questions about menu before they ordered. We had the "luck" of a chatty patron that wants to know why we choose to come this this ? TF? He clarified by saying that he's from California and most other places don't live up to those standards. Food took a long wait. Food was cheap! Our bags were full and heavy! We ran them over to the beach. By the time we opened the boxes on the sand everything looked meh and everything tasted meh. It was so basic we struggled writing a review because there was nothing worthy to write. It's cheap and plentiful basic food.

Always our #1 choice. Excellent food & homemade salsas. Most reasonable prices. Been supporting this great place for 3+ years. Simply delicious & authentic.

First time here don't live in the area but my school is up here. Saw someone online raving about the tacos and they were right!! Fresh homemade tortillas the rice & refried beans were very fresh and well seasoned. Got the Al pastor & carne asada tacos, Al pastor were delicioussss. Carne asada were really good but the Al pastor were bursting with flavor! Great little lowkey lunch spot and very good service.

Authentic Mexican in an out of the way unassuming strip mall. Don't go for the ambiance Do go for the yummy food

Chicken fajita

Located in the Linton Square shopping center, Taqueria Huetamo is a non descript Mexican restaurant serving a variety of classics such as tacos, sopas, gorditas, fajitas and more. The restaurant has divey ambiance which I like actually, but the premises were not very clean. Our table was definitely dirty and not wiped down and the floor was sticky and slippery. Also the AC didn't seem to be working well, so when the place got crowded it was a bit too warm for me. We went with a few dishes to split, the chicken fajita, a variety of 6 tacos and a gordita with chicken. Based on all of the glowing reviews, I thought I'd be getting some insanely flavorful, top of the line Mexican food. But it was just OK. The best was the fajita meat which was juicy, well seasoned and delicious. The refried beans and rice were very average in my opinion, just filler and nothing more. The tacos were really bland. While the corn flavor of the hand made tortillas was really bold and nice, the meat filling was all dry and flavorless. I had to add copious amounts of spicy and cilantro sauce to make it worthwhile. I also thought the gordita was average. It was hot and fresh but the shredded chicken inside had zero flavor. Here too, sauce saved the day. All in all, I give this place 3 stars. Filling and affordable, but average at best. Summary: Food - 3 out of 5. Big portions, but aside from the fajita, flavors were unremarkable or absent. Amibance - 1 out of 5. Strip mall hole in the wall. Noisy. AC wasn't working well so it was hot. Table, floor and condiment station were dirty. Service - 3 out of 5 stars. Nice people, did a good job serving us quickly. Value - 4 out of 5 stars. The taco and fajita plates were really big and at around $12 for a gigantic plate of food, a nice value. Overall - 2.75 stars rounded up to 3.

The place is definitely a hole in the wall but that's actually why I came cause I knew the tacos would be excellent. I didn't want the 2 tacos place downtown as they looked so commercial and the tacos didn't look authentic. I had the carne asada and barbacoa and hubby had the the al pastor and chorizo, all were tasty but barbacoa was the clear winner hands down. We had to order 2 more barbacoa. I'm not a huge corn tortilla fan but it's a necessary evil if you want street tacos but The corn tortillas here was like I've never had, it was a bit thinker in density than normal which I absolutely loved. It didn't fall apart it was steady and slightly absorbed the spicy sauce.

Carne asada burrito!

Why three stars you may ask? Well for starters no salsa! Any restaurant with no good salsa is not a latin restaurant! Burrito really good! Order was right! But man, i was never asked if i wanted salsa and i should had checked! Maybe they starting business and they'll get better with time! Rice is goos the beans really good too and the carne asada was good. Salsa for me either makes it or not! Unfortunately i will stick with my 3 stars for now till i have a better experience! And yes I'm using tabasco because it is the only thing i own at work!

The food is very homey! We liked it. Restaurant is a hole in the wall, very causal. In total $30 for both platters.

We were sat at a table near the bar which was great as it was inside and had a nice breeze with the fans and AC. Damien was our server and was wonderful at explaining the menu and the concept of their scratch kitchen. For our drinks we tried the classic and guava-habanero margaritas. We ended up liking the classic more just because the fresh ingredients were reminiscent of those we had in Mexico. It was a little too warm out to be doubling down on spice in our drinks too. We ordered a brisket quesadilla and for our tacos: carnitas, chorizo, and crispy fish. For our second round (not pictured), my husband tried the spicy chicken. He was warned the spicy chicken is exceptionally spicy but he didn't think that warning was warranted so maybe don't be afraid to try it if you're not big on spice. We had tap water that they left a large bottle on the table for. Even though we didn't drink too much of it, they still replaced it with a fresh bottle after a while since it probably got warm. One staff member even came to wipe up the water that had sweat off our drinks. Overall, El Camino exceeded our expectations. All of the staff was kind and courteous and the food was off the chart. And those happy hour prices are hard to beat! We definitely will be back!

We were there at 6 pm, there were only (10) people there. This is a community restaurant, being silly about free chips are costing them $$$. The salsa is BAD, tomato paste bitter, tasteless with onion & green peppers. They need to visit La Bamba to learn how to make it. My friend had the shrimp fajitas $23, they came out not sizzling, no smoke ‍. I had the Palomia steak $17, they call it something else. Was very tasty but it was room temperature. We tried the Patron Margarita and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. The drink was watery and lacked the vibrant, tangy punch that a margarita should have. The lime flavor was almost non-existent. The tequila was barely detectable, and the balance between the ingredients was completely off. To top it off, there were so much ice leaving the drink diluted and weak. For the price, I expected something much more refreshing and well-crafted. This margarita missed the mark completely. After addressing the issue with our server twice, he finally talked to the bartender. The bartender came to our table and offered to give a shot of tequila to add to the watered down margarita, but still, it didn't quite hit the mark. I really appreciated the bartender's effort to accommodate and make things right. It's clear they care about customer satisfaction. Despite the drink not being up to par, the service was friendly and attentive. I'll give it another shot in the future, but hopefully, the margarita recipe gets a little more consistency.

There was a large free parking lot right in front. This was an easy stop and Yelp friends are raving about them. I smelled the tacos as soon as I got out of my car. We went straight over to the tablets, scrolled and placed our order, tapping a credit card to finish. We weren't really sure if there were specials or meals were the best way to order. It is Cinco de Mayo and Tuesday here and we didn't see anything special. We grabbed a table near the walk of fame and sat down to watch the music video while we waited for our food. There was no hand soap in the ladies room, so I used the soap in the men's room. I mentioned it on the way in and when I washed up to leave, there was still no soap. We each had 2 birra tacos, shared a drink and rice and beans for $15 pp including tax and tip. Our food came out quickly with a bottle of green and a spicy red salsa. Our lunch was okay the tacos were a little messy crumbling as I was trying to eat them. They weren't full of fresh flavors, they just tasted washed out and watery.

Knowing lunch ended at 3:00, we had the lunch menu in hand. At one point, our server started walking toward our table, but after seeing me looking at the lunch menu, he turned around and went back to the bar to put dishes away. It honestly felt like he was trying to delay taking our order. My husband eventually had to call him over before 3:00. We ordered mahi-mahi tacos, and I was ordering the margarita chicken from the lunch menu. Instead of ringing it in right away, he waited until it was exactly 3:00 before telling us lunch was over. We asked to speak with the manager immediately. By the time she came to our table, it was still 3:00, yet she insisted there was nothing she could do because the computer wouldn't allow it. After I explained that I'd worked in restaurants and knew managers could make exceptions in situations like this, she finally agreed--but then rolled her eyes, walked away, and laughed with the server. My husband witnessed the whole thing. At that point, we didn't feel comfortable eating food prepared by people who were openly laughing at us, so we left. This was never about saving a few dollars. It was about customer service and doing the right thing. We've been loyal customers for years because we truly love the food, but the way we were treated today was so unprofessional that we may never come back. It's really sad because we genuinely enjoy this restaurant, but if this is how customers are treated and how management handles situations, it's not the kind of business I want to support.

I took that recommendation seriously because Florida Nacho Man takes all nacho intelligence seriously. That person owes me $14.50. The plate arrived. Full size ceramic plate, good choice, holds heat. Holds heat the way the surface of the sun holds heat, actually. No warning. No heads up. Just a plate that could cause a medical incident set down in front of you with the quiet confidence of something that had nothing to apologize for. It did not. There were eight chips on it. Eight. On a full size plate. Rattling around like survivors on a burning raft. At $14.50, that works out to $1.81 per chip. I want everyone to sit with that math for a moment. Each chip had a spoonful of highly underseasoned ground beef on it. Individually placed. The sour cream was piped in decorative swirls like this was a thin nacho cake -- tasteless, unattractive, sad, with no business in a Mexican restaurant. The lettuce was iceberg, roughly chopped, room temperature, just another passenger on this train of sadness. The jalapeños were pickled, piled in the center, and had the heat of a decorative garnish because that is all they were. The cheese welded the chips to the plate. Fork Rule violated. At a Mexican restaurant. For nachos. Shame on them. I ate all eight chips in pursuit of a redeeming quality. There was not one. Alas. The margarita was $5.50 on happy hour special. It also sucked. 1.5/10. The Ghost Nacho. Just avoid this place altogether.
