We genuinely enjoy the food here, especially the tacos, which is why we have returned several times. Unfortunately, the service has repeatedly been disappointing. Most of the customers are male construction workers, and as women, we have sometimes hesitated to come because it often feels as though the staff prioritizes the men while other customers are left waiting. Today, I came with my husband because he also enjoys the food. We were impressed by the beautiful remodel and expansion--the map of Mexico used in the décor is especially lovely. A young woman told us we could sit wherever we wanted, so we chose a table. We waited for more than 15 minutes, but no one came over to greet us, offer menus, or take our order. Meanwhile, the employees continued attending to several men nearby without acknowledging us. This was not the first time we experienced a long wait here. The food may be good, but customer service should be welcoming and attentive to everyone, including women, couples, and families--not only the regular male clientele. We did not have an hour to spend waiting just to be acknowledged, so we decided to leave and go somewhere else where the service was prompt and the food was equally delicious. I sincerely hope management sees this as an opportunity to improve because the newly remodeled restaurant is beautiful and the food has great potential, but the quality of the service needs to match it. read more

I was craving another taco spot that closed down recently (sad face) and found this place to try out. Although the restaurant was clean, customer service was friendly.. it was the food that wasn't worth coming back to. We ordered the birria tacos plate, flautas plate with beans and rice and fish tacos. The fish tacos tasted like it wasn't thawed properly. It had that "fishy" unpleasant taste. The rest of the food was bland. I was bummed because the consommé was so flavorless and it was what I was looking forward eating the most. Their house made salsa was prob the best thing they had. We shared the carne asada nachos and tacos (the kids immediately gave them 5 stars!) and the birria tacos, which were packed with flavor and also deserving of a 5-star rating. My family and I are here for the holidays so of course we have been trying out new places to eat. My daughter wanted tacos so we came to try this place out. Let me tell you...the tacos were AMAZING and paired so well with a margarita. We got chicken, birria (de rez), & lengua. All of them were super good. Mind you I come from the Bay Area so I know my tacos, these tacos were very well seasoned and served in a very appetizing way (although the cucumber did throw me off a bit but it helped with the spice of the salsa). The server was super nice and attentive. Checked on us several times during our time there. The ambiance was great. Not crowded. Has a bar. Had their nachos con pollo asado and some tacos de carne asada. They had a good selection of Mexican beer and Danielle made a good Paloma. Only thing, if they can do something about a customer that seems to be there every time I've been there. They say this guy, Walter is there everyday. He goes in drinks and gets the waitresses attention away from customers and gets too loud. The waitresses tell me he's there everyday and some are tired of him. But who knows. I ordered three different types of tacos, asada, de Pastor & Quesa Birria, all very good but I thought the Quesa birria taco was a bit expensive for the size and a bit plain, flavor wise they were all flavorful as well as the tacos Dorados de papa so good, the only thing is that the menu you said they had got me and Papa but she told me that only had papa maybe they ran out of the Carne ‍ also I ordered my Husband quesadilla burrito, so good!!! Also got 2 large different aguas, pineapple & pepino con limón, they were so good. They also gave us two types of salsa, the red and the green both really good. The red is more spicy. I was a little hungry after arriving in Palm Springs and this was recommended by Yelp when I searched for a Mexican restaurant. This restaurant was very highly rated and after having lunch I can agree with that. It is located in a small strip mall so many parking spaces were available. The restaurant has about 8 four person tables with a variety of bottled hot sauce. There are a couple of TVs playing soccer games and a nice wallpaper mural on one wall. The restaurant is pretty popular and many people still come in even well after the lunch hour. Service is very simple by ordering from the counter and the food is delivered to you. I ordered a carne asada burrito which is my go-to food item I use to compare between restaurants. The food took about 5 minutes to arrive on a nice plate. After consuming the burrito a couple of things came to mind. Firstly, the burrito was extremely tasteful with lots of meat. I soon realized there was way too salty. A little less would work better. Secondly, the salsa that they provided with the meal was excellent with a nice smoky flavor and a good spicy bite. This similar smoky flavor can be found in the asada too. Our server mistakenly brought me birria tacos. She immediately agreed to switch them out. The manager proceeded to come to our table and educate me about the difference between queso birria and regular birria tacos. She was rude and condescending to the extent that the experience of being talked down to like that ruined the whole experience. The food was ok but the service was poor. Wow... the spot is the type of place where you'd find great hole-in-the-wall authenticity in the food, except it's in a corner lot of a strip mall and looks more like a hipster joint. So many Spanish-speaking diners rolled in for solo meals, pick-up's and group dining that you know it's legit. As a big fan of rare off cuts tacos - lengua, buche, cabeza, carnitas, tripa, etc. - this place had it all and totally crushed them. Was so happy with my order. $25 later, hoping to find another great Taqueria as there are many in the area, this restaurant left a bitter taste in my mouth, literally and figuratively. I ordered a shrimp ceviche tostada, and after several bites I was struck by an overwhelming bitter taste. Prior to that I realized it wasn't fresh, between the shrimp with the texture of chalk and almost opaque slimy diced cucumber, both having bathed in lime juice for too long. Then I identified the source of the bitterness,,.. red onions. I am still tasting the bitterness in my mouth and tasting onions hours later. I also ordered a chorizo tostada. Yuck. It came served with a side of grease, floating underneath. Yes, I know that chorizo is oily, that's why I make my own, but for goodness sake, drain it before serving! read more
