You'll find something to eat, regardless of whether you are picky, vegetarian, afraid of spice, want spice, etc. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of what you order. Tacos are good. The carne asada doesn't have big chunks of fat on them, like some place. There is actually flavor in the meat and it isn't all dried out. Salsa for chips and salsa is good, but they bring you some other bottled salsas for your tacos, use them. They have all the flavor and the heat you need. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes you'll be attended to and other times, you'll have to flag down someone. Standouts for me: enchiladas. I made darn good enchiladas, so for me to order them in a restaurant is rare. I will order the enchiladas here. shrimp ceviche. NIce chunks of shrimp and crisp vegetables. Beans. Their beans are always good. Not a fan of their rice. ZERO STARS! I ordered the molcajete mar y Tierra add shrimp. First off, the shrimp was pre-cooked, then refried. It looks like they used the shrimp from ceviche. The chorizo was crumbled up like dry hamburger that resembled rat poop. The chicken actually drowned in the flavorless sauce, I'm sorry, "sauce" is too nice of a word, so I'll use watered down Campbell's tomato soup. The traditional Flank steak was replaced by cheap round top, throne on a flat top and flipped once! It is rubbery and gray, and All of this was a tiny pile, topped with what resembles fried rubbery cheese, not queso fresco. These people need a lesson in how to cook authentic Mexican food! If you want a real molcajete try El Patron in Hemet California. Ok, anyways the beans had a weird chunky consistency, covered up in half melted cheese. As for the rice, I really think they went down to Cardenas market and bought them out, because this is the ONLY edible item in the entree. This was my first time here and I must say that the food here is very delicious. The staff is very nice but they are not very attentive to their customers. Instead of them coming to me and my party's table, I got up a few times to ask them for another cup of salsa or for a refill. I ordered a shrimp cocktail my girlfriend got the Wet-burrito and my brother got a burger with fries, the menu has a wide variety of selections to choose from. This place has really gone down hill since we were last here. We brought a friend here after telling her how good the food and service was. This time the service was lacking, we were ignored for the most part, had to ask for chips and salsa, our friend ordered cheese enchiladas and was given chicken. When they were replaced with cheese the cheese was cold. With the large number of Mexican restaurants in the area, I doubt we will come back any time soon. Love the food here ever since theirs 1st restaurants , but have gone few times to give them another chance and always have a bad experience. The first time we ordered Chavelas and the Waiter assumed they were both for my Husband, then I orders a Torta waited 30 min till they told me they didn't have Bread anymore then a Quesadilla and they didn't have tortillas. I came in for the first time after hitting the gym next door. I used to go to el guero in anaheim in orange county. So i was expecting good tacos. But that was far from what i got this day. The meat was un seasoned/dry. 3.50$ a piece, the hot sauce tasted watered down the limes where old and brown like they have been sitting for days in out in the open. Worst customer service ever. They have their ad in restaurant.com for gift certificates and when we take paid certificate to them , they say they don't accept it. The first time we went there , the certificate was linked to my app and I showed them and they said it needs to be printed and gave us a huge headache and made us pay in full. Next time when we took printed certificate almost after over a month to give them a second chance they disappointed us again. The certificate clearly says it's not for Friday Saturday Sunday but you can use it other day. Today was Monday.Last time they over charged us and I believe it was over charged this time as well. Avoid at all cost . And to the owner and server , don't try to make silly excuses of putting ads out there but not following its rules while your customer followed it all. If I can put -5 stars I would the customer service there is probably the worst I have ever experienced at a restaurant the waitress light skin black hair probably mid-40s was one of the rudest ladies I have ever encountered with I have known this family since I was 2 years old my family has known them for years. when I first walked in went to the register While She Was preparing drinks didn't even acknowledge me and with her bad attitude she just told me to wait until she finishes which I did patiently then told me to take a seat wherever I could find an empty booth which I did. Kept my cool came over took my order still being very snobby after that went to the bar to get some salsa lemon and radishes remind you when I was getting radishes that was the only item that had tongs after that I was getting some lemons when my hand since the batch didnt have any tongs. she comes up to me and tells me do not touch the lemons to grab the tongues that was which inside the radishes, I asked her how can I grab tongs that are already contaminated placed in the radishes which if I did it's cross-contamination. You don't want customers to touch the lemons with the same tongs your using to serve the radishes you need to put more tongs out. Her response was the tongs are soaking in the water which were in the radishes so that does not mean it's cross contaminated giving me attitude did not appreciate the way she acted an spoke to me, after that I overheard her telling another customer what I was doing and I really think that is very unprofessional. she came to my table gave us our food never asked if we need anything else walked away 15 minutes later another waitress which she was very kind came to ask us if we needed anything I told her no thank you. we're all good then I spoke to the manager letting him know that one of their customers needs to really work on there customer service she was standing next to me and I told the manager about the customer service an it makes me feel like to ever step there again and to also let my family and friends know to do the same an to not come back. again. her response was then good don't come back at all which is really sad because when their father was alive that place was amazing walked out told my friend never coming back here again letting my family know never eat there again and her response was that she didn't care she was the main in charge of all the waitresses an the front of the restaurant and didn't care if we came back or not. We were visiting family in the area and wanted Mexican food. El Guero was perfect. We had a party of 5 so we sat at 2 tables (social distancing). The salsa was unique and delicious. It was taco night so 3 of us had tacos (which were only $ .99 each on taco night!) They were excellent. I had the taco salad with shredded chicken, which was very flavorful, and my youngest had nachos. (It was a full plate.)
