Pick 2 grilled chicken & chicken enchilada with rice and no beans
    Pam R.

We are visiting Palm Springs from the east coast. We were all looking forward to delicious Mexican food. La Perlita was ok. The chicken was not so good. The dishes were very bland. The space is an odd shape. Our table was right near the kitchen.

Had just arrived in Palm Springs, and needed to find a spot for dinner. La Perlita is located in a strip center, but the interior of the restaurant is pleasantly decorated, and the staff is very friendly. The chips and salsa were different than what we typically find in Mexican restaurants - the chips are smaller and very crunchy, almost like kettle chips, and the salsa is very thin. But they were delicious! Our meals came out quickly, and we devoured them. This is definitely a hidden gem in Palm Springs!

Combo with chicken enchilada, crunchy beef taco and Chile relleno.

We visit the Palm Springs area every winter and like to find a good Mexican restaurant each time. Decided on La Perlita and we were not disappointed. Tucked away at the end of a small strip mall the parking was free and easy. The interior was clean and the booths were comfortable. Chips were fresh and crispy and the salsa was more blended, not like a pico de gallo. The three item combo was a tasty sampling since I was indecisive. The chicken enchilada and beef crunchy taco were flavorful but the chile relleno was the standout, definitely worth the $2 up charge. The staff was attentive and very friendly, especially Ivàn. Give this place a try!

Excellent Family owned business. All the different menu categories are covered. Service is good and food prepared quickly. Excellent Cadillac Margarita You won't be disappointed.

totally amazing! the service was great and the food was fresh and fabulous! the tomatoes and lettuce tasted like they just picked them out of a garden! can't get fresher than that! the basket of chips were crunchy and tasted new! the salsa was spicy but not too spicy! the main course presentation was great! had a three item combo plate and it was all good! three people cost less than $100 before tip. we'll be back! thanks!

Very nice staff, very attentive and quick service. Refreshing beverages (horchata and Jamaica), staff was attentive with refills and checking up on our meals. Great music, clean atmosphere, beautiful art displayed, huge menu.

This says it all: 2 Chile Rellenos and a Tamale!

Food and service is so good it justifies the annoying TV. Chile Rellenos are the area's best!

This meant Marilyns everywhere, including the waiters, which made the experience that much more fun. Aside from that, we had made reservations ahead of time thankfully, because it was BUSY. But we were sat just as soon as we had arrived, and despite it being very hot out at the time, they had a bunch of shaded spots with misting fans. The drinks were fantastic, including mine which was a zero-proof mocktail. We all ordered different chicken dishes, and each one received high praise. I was able to try each of them and I was very happy with my fajitas, but I gotta give the nachos their dues. They were just as good. Chips were crispy all the way through, and not one was soggy from all the ingredients. Loved it, will definitely be back when I visit again. Id also like to mention that we chose this place as my friend's Bachelor Party closing dinner, and he couldn't have been happier. He was so thrilled with how the weekend had gone, that dining at Clandestino's really was the cherry on top. Thank you for making our dining experience such a pleasant one.

Portions are not skimp at all and prices were reasonable! My favorite was the shrimp ceviche. I hate to brag, but my ceviche is the best. And tbh, Felipe's is almost as good as mine! Hehehe. Very fresh ingredients with generous portion of shrimp. This was my favorite item we ordered! Tacolgado were mini quesabirria tacos that was perfectly sized to share. This was really good! Then we also ordered the chicken flautas that was really good! The chicken breast was perfectly seasoned and moist but the fried tortilla was not soggy at all. This was so good! The kids enjoyed this the most. Especially the cotija !! So so good. Wednesdays are 50% off their margaritas which I wasn't able to try but next time, I will! The ladies next to us ordered a few and I overheard how they were all good! The restaurant is family friendly, clean and decor was very cute! I sat there for a good 5+ minutes before anyone even came over to take my order. A couple minutes after that, a party of 6 came in and they were promptly served chips and salsa, while I'm sitting there still waiting for chips and salsa. When I finished my drink, no one came over to ask if i wanted a refill, so I finally had to stop a server and ask for a refill. You need to give the single diners a little attention too, especially as many of us are locals and like supporting the local businesses. Not sure I'll be back again.

My daughter ordered a strawberry margarita and I a blackberry paloma.. they both tasted like juice.. and for what they are charging?! No way! 2. My daughter ordered the chicken nachos... chicken was dry and bland...no cheese... 4 jalapenos...and they have the nerve to charge $20?! 4. I ordered the Mexican wedge salad, laughable. No "roasted corn" it was canned. No black beans at all. The lettuce was the bottom of the iceberg... and because I dont like cilantro... so I had to have regular ranch. Better off advertising as a cilantro ranch and not a serrano ranch. After all this. I explained to the waitress I was misled and displeased. Not that I was not going to pay or was looking for a free meal, but lets not mislead people. No management even bothered to come out and say anything or address us. I paid $92 that Ill never get back and I still tipped the waitress $20 because is it really her fault?! Positive the guacamole + chips were good. That was it.

The only positive is the decor,it's nice and has a cool Polynesian/mid-century vibe. That's where anything good ends. The service was terrible. We asked about specials as first-time customers, and our waitress conveniently failed to mention the Taco Tuesday deal. Instead, she rushed us to order. We later realized we ordered multiple taco plates that should have qualified for the special, but she never said a word. The food was even worse. I ordered fajitas, and what I was served was completely unacceptable,no vegetables, no resemblance to fajitas, just chopped chicken covered in chorizo and tomato sauce. It was disgusting. I took one bite and couldn't eat it. I planned to send it back, but the waitress disappeared and never came back to the table. I was stuck with it and only ate the sides, which tasted like reheated frozen vegetables and a small cup of beans. Despite barely touching the food and not receiving what I ordered, I was still charged as if everything was fine, about $22 for a plate I couldn't eat. When I finally addressed it, she insisted it was "fajitas," which is honestly ridiculous. To top it off, when my husband asked for a box, the waitress came back after handling cash and used her bare hands, with long acrylic nails,to grab his taco and put it in the container. That is completely unsanitary and unacceptable. Bad service, disgusting food, and poor hygiene. I will not be returning and will be reporting this place to the health department. Avoid this place. Warning Positive reviews are obviously coming from ownership friends.
