One of my friends highly recommended Em Purities Beauty after seeing the head scalp massage trend blow up on social media. I wasn't quite sure what to expect (other than knowing that I really love a good head scalp massage), but after coming out of the experience, I was super refreshed and really happy I did go! Em Purities is located in the back of a busy plaza (I usually go there for Gabi). On a Sunday afternoon, it didn't look too busy. I still did book ahead of time by a day online. The online booking process was super simple and easy to go through. I went for the cheapest option which was the 'express' for $45 for 30 minutes. Once I got inside, I was asked to change into slippers and wait in the waiting area. Candies / water were available along with a comfy couch. After waiting for a little bit, Novy, who would be helping me out, led me to a locker area to stash some valuables and given a towel to wear on top for guys. From there, I laid down on top of the shower bed and put my head where the sink/showerhead. The whole bed was super comfy and even my head was elevated a bit on a cube that water could drain easily from. From there, I fell asleep. Haha. It was really, really comfortable where Novy would really make sure I was comfortable the whole time. Whenever my head had to move side to side, the movement was slow and easy. Massages were given on the face, on the shoulders, and on my scalp. Different cleaners were utilized throughout and my face felt so bright and clean. At the end, Novy would also wash my hair with a conditioner and really just put me fully at ease + the scalp massage that I really, really liked. Novy wasn't too forceful yet put pressure when needed and never felt uncomfortable. I was even given a slight back massage as I got up. Once I put my shirt back on, I was taken to a salon chair to get my hair dried. The whole experience was really wonderful and made me consider upgrading next time to something else. I overheard too that they could take up to four individuals at a time possibly. Super invigorating and really made me feel great for the rest of the day. This head spa is hands down one of the best experiences you can treat yourself to--especially for the price. I've been to other head spas where they start with a scalp analysis to check for hair damage and related concerns, but if you're someone who already knows your hair and just wants to dive into the relaxation part, this is the place to be. The spa is conveniently located in Chinatown, with plenty of parking nearby. Depending on the time of day, you might even score some shade for your car--which is a huge plus during the summer heat. I had Kelly N. as my therapist, and she was absolutely wonderful. The front lobby is small but welcoming, and Kelly was quick to check me in. She walked me over to a shared treatment room, which had a hanging rack, small lockers with keys to secure your belongings, and a robe prepared for me. If you're like me and prefer using the restroom before your treatment, there are restrooms located at the back of the spa area. Once you're changed, your therapist will guide you over to the head spa beds to begin your treatment. I chose the Em Ultimate Relaxation package, which included: - A head steam - Foot soak - Head-to-shoulder massage - Hand massage - Cleanse and facial massage - Hydro-jelly face mask and an herbal eye mask - A scalp treatment with two shampoo sessions - A warm herbal hair wash with a collagen hair mask Finishing off with a relaxing scalp massage and blow dry Heavenly is an understatement. Before starting, Kelly asked if I had any allergies and what kind of pressure I preferred. I had emailed the spa earlier in the week after reading reviews that moisturizer wasn't always applied post-facial, and they advised me to mention it to my therapist. When I brought it up, Kelly confirmed she could include it--no problem. The treatment began with a herbal foot soak as I lay back for the facial massage. Kelly had great technique and applied the perfect amount of pressure, setting a relaxing tone for the rest of the experience. Now, I might not remember the exact order of the hair spa steps, but I'll describe what I can. They wet your hair and comb through it using a scalp massager. I asked for firm pressure during the massage, and Kelly delivered! From my feet to my legs, arms, and shoulders--every part of the massage was amazing. I'm a big fan of getting my hair washed (honestly, it's one of my favorite parts of salon visits), and they didn't disappoint. Yes--they do that satisfying scalp massage and give your head a good, therapeutic scratch. I saw some reviews mentioning concern about gloves during the scalp massage. For clarity: gloves were only worn during the shampooing, which makes total sense to protect the therapist's hands. The scalp massage and scrub were done without gloves, which many people, like myself, prefer. As for the facial, it's more of a basic add-on--which is expected. It includes a gentle cleanse, a facial massage, and the jelly mask. Don't expect extractions or advanced facial treatments--it's meant to complement the relaxation, not replace a full facial service. The herbal eye mask was a really soothing touch while the other treatments were prepared. One of the surprises I really loved was the hot stone massage that was incorporated during the mask portion. As I lay there with my jelly and eye mask, Kelly used hot stones for a head-to-shoulder massage--it was unexpected and so appreciated. They also used these cool glove-like tools with massaging balls on the fingers for added pressure and effect. I wasn't expecting that either, but it elevated the entire experience. At the end of the treatment, Kelly remembered my earlier request to apply moisturizer to my face, which I really appreciated. She then guided me back to the changing area where I could get dressed and collect my belongings. One thoughtful touch I noticed was the availability of cotton swabs--perfect if any water got into your ears during the treatment. Once I was changed, Kelly walked me over to another room for the blow-dry. Before starting, she applied a heat protectant to my hair, which was a nice detail. The blow-dry itself was pretty standard--Kelly gently brushed through my hair as it dried with the hairdryer. I came in and got the signature head spa. That includes foot massage, facial, head massage, neck massage, etc. The foot massage was very lacking. Since they're massaging you over a towel, you can't feel much. The neck massage and arm massage hurt a lot for me. I had to tell them to lighten the massage because there was too much pressure. They use a hot rock for your collarbone/neck area and it was super painful against the collarbone. The head spa part was ok. JUST OK. my scalp did feel clean after. They doubled shampoo and used a hair mask on your hair as well as a massage. The facial... So I have lash extensions. Anyone can see that I do and I was hoping they would be more gentle with my lashes but they didn't care. They kept rubbing my lashes around. They apply a peel off mask towards the end of the facial but didn't apply lotion to my face after. After everything, they bring you to this room to blow dry your hair for you but they didn't use heat protection or anything before using super hot heat. I wouldn't come back here again. read more

I was visiting Vegas and wanted to treat myself to a spa day. Spa treatments at the hotels were super pricey so I decided to look elsewhere. I'm so glad I found empurities beauty. My head spa was such a wonderful experience. The location of impurities beauty is not your typical storefront... It is located in an industrial type of area with plenty of parking . When you enter through there door they give you slippers and an area to place your shoes. They have separate sitting area aside from the front of the store. The service was super good. I was asked to change into a robe. I was able to place my personal belongings in a locker with a lock. Mind you the locker room is not fancy however, it is very neat, clean. and safe. Which is the most important. I was then escorted to the treatment area. I love the way my lady massaged my head and my feet. Wish my foot massage was a little longer but it's ok. They went above and beyond with treatment, a soothing massage, steam, and hot towels. When I left, my hair was unbelievably silky and soft. I actually called the next day just to ask about the conditioner they used because it was that good! I wish I took videos to share, but honestly, I was so immersed in the experience that I completely forgot my phone in my locker. I'm visiting family in Vegas and we decided to start our day with a relaxing hair treatment and facial massage. Upon arriving, we swapped our shoes with their spas slippers and they had us wait in the blow dry/waiting area. They had beverages in the fridge as well as Halloween candy so I had that as a little treat for breakfast. When they were ready for us, they had us undress our tops and change into a wrap-around towel to give better access for the neck and shoulder massage. I laid on the table with my head on the headrest so they can wash my hair. They started with removing any makeup and then proceeded with the facial portion of the treatment. Then she put a towel over my eyes and turned the water on to start washing my hair. Between the head massages and the face, shoulder and neck massage, I was in heaven. I kept catching myself dozing off especially when she was scratching my head and building a nice lather on my hair. I had opted for the hour treatment and it was a blissful one hour. After she rinsed my hair and peeled off my face mask, she had me change and take my belongings out of the locker. She then took me to the blow drying station and to finish up the treatment with a blow dry. This was such a fun and relaxing experience and would definitely come again. read more

To say this service is unique is an understatement. The owner mentioned that she traveled all around Asia, trained at different places and took all the things she liked to create her own business. In a sea of strip mall foot massage and Thai massage places in Vegas, there isn't another head/facial/hair massage place like this and she does a great job at presenting her vision. I did the full treatment that comes with facial, massage, and hair shampoo (75 mins). Was great! Bear in mind, she's the sole owner/proprietor so you cannot book a bridesmaid party per se or just walk in. It's by individual appointment only. Which again, I liked because it was a very relaxing environment. My only suggestion is that if you sensitive skin or scalp, inquire about her products. I didn't have an issue with anything but that finishing balm she put on my scalp at the end lightweight burned! She rinses it out with cold water so wasn't sure if that was the purpose of it or not? I was looking to relax while my husband attended a garage door convention. I was stressed and wanted to melt the stress away, so I was looking up massages, and this scalp massage place came up, so I booked the ultimate em hair treatment and added the diamond microdermabrasion along with the enzyme peel. It was booked with Kelly. Part of the package was dipping my feet into water with lemon and flowers, it was supposed to include a foot massage but all she did was let my feet rest in there for about 20 minutes, take them out, dry them, then wrap the towel around them and lightly press on them ( so don't add it). What did feel nice was the warm water that smelled like it had tea brewed into it hitting my scalp. The sound of the water was also relaxing. The sound and smell of the warm water is what put me to sleep. I was disappointed because Kelly had long artificial nails that stabbed into my neck area while " massaging" me. I put that in quotation marks because it was light pushed on the skin, even though I asked for hard pressure. The same happened with my scalp. She couldn't quite massage because of the nails. To make matters worse, she used latex gloves while massaging me. This rubbed against my skin, and felt uncomfortable and like a pinch. This not only felt uncomfortable but made me feel as though something was wrong with me. I've never had anybody wear latex gloves while massaging me, and I get massages two times weekly. I understand using the gloves for the chemicals that were applied on my skin, but not for the massage.... At the end of the day, I know the beauty industry requires a lot of work, so as I was paying, I added tip. I immediately regretted being so giving and kind when I looked up and saw her checking her nails. That immediately let me know that the whole time she was more concerned about her nails than the client. This made me sad. read more
