    Hu Tieu Em.

I ordered via DoorDash and everything was packaged well (although I wish they labeled the broth as I ordered two different soups). Note that their DUMBO location has more dishes, but also more expensive. I'd rather pay the long distance fee than the upcharge on the items --I'm talking about $18 vs $13.50 for the Beef Pho. Either way, the food was delicious and homey. I had the Beef Pho ($13.50), Hu Tieu Em ($12), and Banh Mi Dac Biet ($9.50). The pho was classic with a variety of sliced beef and broth was flavorful, definitely my go-to on a cold day or hungover. The Hu Tieu is something I don't usually get, but loved the various toppings that it came with soaked in the clean pork broth. It's refreshing with all the minced up green onions and cilantro, which is nice. Of course, the banh mi was very tasty with layers of meat and fresh veggies. There is a bit overload of the pickled carrots and daikon, but still a delicious banh mi overall. Em is such an affordable Vietnamese restaurant that gives me that delicious, homemade taste. There's not many Vietnamese spot in NY, but this is my go-to (especially for delivery since there's nothing good enough near me).

They don't have the avocado smoothie anymore , sadd but the watermelon drink is so refreshing!! Love the chicken wings as usual and my bestie got the Hu Tieu dry, again just as yummy.

It was decent but not the best Vietnamese I've had. The best part of the meal was the refreshing mocktail Pineapple Express which was so refreshing-it'd be so great if there was an alcoholic version. The mango tango was too subtle for me and maybe it was the yogurt or something that was a bit strange. The rolls were nice and great there were four of them. The pho was underwhelming, especially with the noodle types which were the in-house ones, bit too wide for me. There was not enough meat either and I had ordered extra rare steak. The flavor was just not there for me.

I was in the area visiting a friend, and we both were craving some good Vietnamese food. Em popped up on both of our searches, and it was only 5 minutes away. Parking was a bit tricky, but we found a spot in front after a short wait. The space itself is bright, cute and quaint.Seeming to be operating with a small staff. The lady we encountered was very friendly. We were seated quickly and given our menus to check out the offbrings.Seeing that a lot of the dishes had pork it limited the options for my friend and I who's a vegetarian and I am allergic to pork. Yet, and still we found some great choices. We will definitely be back as I'm still thinking about that chicken pho.

This local, cozy neighborhood spot in Brooklyn stands out among the many Vietnamese options in the area, which usually have almost identical menus. Unlike the rest, this restaurant features a smaller, more modern menu with unique offerings like chicken pho and northern-style pho, usually I'm used to the classic beef broth. This time I tried their Bo Kho and was pleasantly surprised. The Bo Kho broth was incredibly beefy without being too salty--a common complaint I've heard about other pho broths. As good as they might be, some broths leave you feeling like you've had a ton of salt, making you feel dehydrated for the rest of the day. This Bo Kho, though, doesn't have that problem. It doesn't come with noodles, which means you get a bigger serving of beef. Most pho bowls are filled with noodles and broth, so it's easier to hide when they skimp on the beef. Here, the focus is really on the beef. The dish also has just-cooked, still-crunchy onions that add a nice texture if you're into that. Plus, there's a generous amount of fresh herbs to balance out the rich broth. The beef itself comes with bits of tendon throughout, which adds some nice variation in texture. If you're looking for a Vietnamese spot in Brooklyn that offers something a little different, this place is definitely worth checking out.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon as a group of three around 2 pm and there was seating available. The space did get filled throughout the day and we thankfully weren't rushed out. I ordered the Pho Bo Em, which is their classic beef pho + it was fine. Not my favorite beef pho broth, but I know lots of viet spots have their own broth recipes. I really liked the beef variations in my pho tho - beef ball, well done beef, and rare beef. I also ordered a Viet Iced Coffee (8 oz) which was just ok too. Not as strong as I'm used to, but refreshing nonetheless. I heard that this location is known for their Banh Mis, so I'm open to coming back for them next time! Overall, nice service, bright interior, and calm neighborhood vibes!

Small viet restaurant in Bensonhurst area. There's only about 4 tables and counter seats for dine-in. I've been to their newer location in Dumbo, Brooklyn, where the prices are significantly higher, so I was interested in trying this location out. The prices are here are more on par with local viet restaurants. I ordered the beef pho, spring rolls, and a coconut smoothie. The broth of the beef pho was delicious. Everything else was on par with viet spots like Gia Lam. The spring rolls were a bit lacking in my opinion. It was thinner and less meaty than I preferred. Add the short ribs to your pho for $10. The short rib is huge and tender -- definitely a good plus if you need extra to fill you up. Good viet restaurant in the neighborhood.

YUM! A necessary stop on the way home from Coney Island. The pho broth was deliciously light and fragrant, the noodles and meat cooked perfectly. Dishes take a while to come out so I would recommend ordering a smoothie to sip on while you wait. I enjoyed the coconut one, although it was quite a bit smaller than pictures show. Cafe was cute but small inside.

We're new to the Brooklyn/Bay Ridge area and as pho-loving foodies, my husband and I eyed this place for quite some time before bringing our family of 6 here for dinner one evening. The restaurant is small with some tables and seats along the window, but clean and has plenty of decor on the walls that kept my busy sons occupied while we looked at the menu. Our server was nice and patient. We asked if they had any soda and they didn't but told us there's a market next door so Hubby went over for some juice boxes and sodas. We both ordered 3 orders of the Pho Bo Em (1 for myself, 1 for my husband who asked for his with a beef rib, and 1 for two of our boys to split) and a Pho Ga for our other two to share, along with an order of the crispy spring rolls. Spring rolls were hot and fresh, and the boys really enjoyed them wrapped up in lettuce leaves with pickled carrot and daikon (I think). I don't normally give out such a low rating because I do my research beforehand AND I try a place twice before really deciding if I don't like it. However, after reading plenty of Yelp reviews of Em and being so hyped up to get our pho fixes, we were really disappointed. I'm not sure if the broth was watered down or if there was a shortage the weeknight we went in (around 5:30-6pm) but we've never had such a plain pho broth in any restaurant before (we've lived in a couple different states and have tried pho joints everywhere we've moved). The broth had a very subtle beef flavor and was lackluster. The prices were a high for what we tasted, and the amount of actual pho content was mediocre. I'd probably try a different dish (like the hu tieu soups) next time before completely writing off Em.

Ordered a bulgogi beef and lemongrass chicken banh mi for delivery through Uber eats. Both sandwiches were pretty good but likely not great because we got delivery- they were cold and bread was not crispy. The meat itself was soft, well-cooked, and flavorful. There was no jalapeño which is standard for banh mi but perhaps because we chose the not spicy spice level. I would have still liked some jalapeño in there to round out the flavor. Carrots and daikon were delicious. Overall, a good not amazing option for take out but high food quality and is likely delicious if you dine in or pick the food up.

Just scrolling on Uber Eats I found this spot and my husband and I decided to try it. We ordered it for delivery and it came pretty quick and was still warm when it arrived. We both ordered the Hu Tieu Kho and it was delicious! So much flavor! The broth was great and all the things added to the noodles went together really well. We also got the Ly's chicken wings which were delicious also. The buttery sauce was really yummy. The spring rolls were good too. This will definitely be my go to Vietnamese spot from now on. I'm satisfied.

The service was okay - it was obvious the server was brand new/still in training so I'm sure he'll get better and congrats to him on the new job! Btw, in case you were wondering this place is NOT Vietnamese-owned, or at least the server + the host + some workers in the back were not, or perhaps they're trilingual. In any case, I was a little sad about that because there really is a lack of good Viet food in NY so although other ethnicities are more than welcome to own places not of their own ethnicities, I was just hoping to find more Viet-owned Viet food businesses. That being said, I got pho bo vien (which I suppose now I know why there's no Vietnamese text on the menu... so this is the viet meatball pho??) and it was okay. Nothing bad, nothing special, probably a bit too pricey for what you get. I was hoping for some comfort food since this location is nearby. The broth was overall fine after adding some hoisin sauce and Sriracha. Unsure if I'll come again... the convenient location for me is probably the main selling point
