Rave Cinemas used to feel super grand walking in and now Ann Arbor 20 IMAX sort of feels very enclosed. I believe this is owned by Cinemark, a national chain. Everything here is okay, but their concession prices are astronomical. I only recently came here because they were showing a 4D movie and were one of the few that were showing it in this format, that's when it's in both 3D plus your chair moves along with it. I really enjoyed the experience because they have movement chairs that also RECLINE! All the movement chairs I had tried up until this point were small, rocking chairs. So I'm excited for this new development in the 4D space and can't wait for it to catch on at other theaters that also have movement chairs so I can stop driving this far out to AA to experience this!

My husband and I couldn't remember the last time we had been to this Cinemark (all signs point to…read morepre pandemic?) and I was honestly a little apprehensive about how it would be since a lot of theatres have been falling by the wayside but to my pleasant surprise it's actually still in pretty good shape! Typically we go to another theatre that's a bit closer with some better amenities (a fairly robust food, menu, a full bar, etc) but we came here because it was the only theatre in the area showing a movie we wanted to see. Gone are the days of the giant movie releases where multiple concession counters are open, so parts of the building do feel like of deserted, but it was still pretty busy for a Monday night and there was a bit of a line, though it did move pretty quickly. A lot of it is grab and go (including most hot food), so it's convenient and quick, though the quality does suffer a bit not being made to order (compared to their local chain competitor who delivers your food to your seat). I got the chicken fingers and we split some fries and they were ok. Not great but not terrible. It got the job done. We also split some popcorn which was freshly popped. I'd probably just stick to that and a soda next time. The theatres are clean and the seats themselves are recliners and pretty comfy and in good condition. Projection was good, as was the sound. Commercials/trailers were almost a half hour long which felt a bit like overkill, tho. Over all, it was fine. Not impressive enough to get us to change our regular theatre but serviceable for a visit now and again.

This led to long waits and a lack of assistance throughout the event. The staff was also rude and inattentive, which made the situation more frustrating. For the birthday party, basic essentials such as napkins, cups, plates, and even water were not provided in the room. I had to track down staff just to get these standard items that should have already been set up. Overall, the lack of organization, poor service, and high price made this a disappointing experience.

Highly suggest doing the tour before you register for a class and or membership because you will get a discount on your first class. The trainer was super attentive and will help you build up your confidence even if you came nervous like I did. You always hearing horror stories about things not going right when people use tools even after watching YouTube channels. I attended the three saw class which included on hand training and techniques on the panel, miter, and table saw. Please note in order to use their tools outside of training you would need to become a member which is still a great opportunity for someone who's trying to start or began a new crafting and or trade. Did I mention that there's two shop dogs there? Yes, they're two bloodhounds that walks around in the lobby.
