One of the best Quesabirrias I have ever eaten, I will be coming back (consome was perfection)

I came here after a work event at Frontier Tower. They were pretty busy even though it was almost 9pm. I think they get quite a bit of service from theatre attendees. You can order at the cash register or at a kiosk. The interior is bright, light, and airy. A staff member here recommended the Lamb/Beef Gyro Plate and Quesabirria-Tacos. Sauces were good, meat was plentiful. Good seasoning. Would recommend the tacos more. Will be back! read more

I live down the block. I would always pass this by for a year or so, but I had no idea what quesabirria is. I check out the reviews and I'm finally intrigued. I order take out on grubhub (I regret this because the plate price was $3 more on grubhub than if I called directly. Lesson learned). I pick this up, willing to blow about $20 for a quesabirria plate and bottle of Mexican coke. I bring the food home and it's nicely still very warm, almost quite hot but not too hot at all. The tortilla crunches as you bite into it and holds the consommé with an alluring drip that feels both inviting and satisfying. I try the first quesabirria taco plain with consommé just to get the flavors down. It's rich, fatty, crunchy and has a nice saucy kick to it. It feels like pure comfort food but in the warm company of someone hosting you in their home. It's unfamiliar and also universal. The second taco, I dip in the provided hot sauce before the consommé. Whoa! What a legit kick !!! But totally enhances it and gives a nice spicy sweat and tongue heat that felt perfect for a cold SF Sunday. I wouldn't be surprised if this place gets more popular as people catch on. I plan to be a regular! read more

PRE-THEATER MEAL Several years ago I watched "Rent" at Golden Gate Theater. Before the show I ate at a burger place just around the corner. The burger wasn't that great and the place ended up closing. Last December before watching the "Mean Girls" I came to Habibi's Birria to eat. I think this location is the same place where I ate the burger. At Habibi's Birria I ordered the quesabirria taco combo. I also ordered the fries. The quesabirrias weren't as crunchy on the outside as I expected yet wasn't as oily as other quesabirrias I've eaten in the past. However I still loved the broth for the quesabirria. The broth added much needed flavor to the quesabirrias. The portion of the fries was bigger than I expected. The main problem was the fries were slightly soggy. When fries are soggy I don't finish eating all of them. Overall I had nice pre-theater dinner prior to the show. After finishing my meal I didn't bloated before the show. The meal I ate at Habibi's Birria was ok, but better than the last time I ate a burger at the old burger place. read more

Who would have thought that this place will be owned by the founder of Inshallah Mediterranean Cuisine in Daly City? Someone told me to come into this place but I didn't expect Victor, also the business owner of Inshallah Mediterranean Cuisine, would open the door for me. I was surprised because I considered Victor a great chef and a good friend of mine. Victor is one of the most underrated chefs in the Bay Area. His mediterranean food is fantastic! He always puts up a good quality service to his customers and has treated his employees well. For forward in 2025, I tried his quesabirria taco combo. As expected, it was really tasty! The service was excellent. This time, he introduced his wife who was working with him. The space is pretty big and was located near the Civic Center, Tenderloin and Downtown SF. Parking is very difficult but it's tolerable. So far, the experience is great. Overall, this place is fantastic as long as you find a good parking spot. Lastly, I'm really and proud of Victor for expanding his business. I wish him all the very best in life. God Bless this man! read more

Following a successful No Kings Protest, I was walking down from City Hall toward somewhere, maybe the Ferry Building. All I knew was that I was hungry. I walked by to a crowd and wonderful music. I caught the menu and it said Birria Ramen. What a hook! I was instantly intrigued. So of course I went in. The many's filled with so many things I'd love to try. It wasn't cold enough for Birria Ramen and I wasn't looking to be too full from the falafel. So I went to something that goes with the restaurants name and would fill me up but not too much. Quesabirria Tacos with a side of coke. The wait was 20 minutes. I think that was due to how many people ordered before me. Or maybe it's because they cook it fresh fresh. Either way, it was a bit of a wait. But no worries! Let me tell you. This was one of the best Quesabirria tacos I have ever had. It was hot and it stayed hot. The salsa they provided was the right level of spicy. I normally inhale my food but this made me want to slow down and cherish each bite. I cannot wait to have this again. Perfect spot for a quick lunch during the work week. Ample seating and bright lighting. I'm intrigued by the fusion of Mexican and Mediterranean food, but this place makes it make sense. Ordered the quesabirria tacos. Food came quickly and hot with two sauces + consommé, and a side of radishes. Service was super friendly. I tried the quesabirria- taco combo and it was tasty but too little meat. The consomé was delicious but a tiny bit on the salty side. I read in other reviews for their San Leandro location that they use goat for their birria. Not sure if this is offered at this location but you can ask for keto cheese wraps instead of the regular wrap if you're diabetic. Will come back to try other menu items. read more

Stopped by for some birria, and here's the breakdown: Birria with Consomé The consomé was refreshingly good--light yet flavorful. I would've loved a bit more spice to give it that extra kick. The meat, unfortunately, was a bit tough, but it was served with a friendly smile, and the wait time was super quick at around 5 minutes. Rice & Beans The rice had nice seasoning but was slightly hard. The beans were great, and I appreciated the cheese on top--a nice touch. Just a pinch more salt, and they'd be perfect. Quesabirria Not quite as flavorful as my last visit, but still enjoyable overall. I'd definitely come back for the friendly service and quick turnaround. Love how close this is to the office downtown to get lunch with friends or co-workers. Stopped by today for the birria burrito, but decided to get 3 tacos with gyro meat. Was that off the secret menu? Wow! You get the best of Mex & Med flavors in this dish & definitely will have to return to take the photo & try other unique surprises. This is a real tough place to have a business. Despite that, their Burrito with shrimp is great. They also have other meat options that others ate but I loved the shrimp. I could eat it daily. The place is small but clean and the waitress was friendly and helpful. The cook even came out to say hi when I told the waitress I liked the food. I gave both a monetary tip on top of my purchase price because they're in a tough location but providing great food in a friendly but professional manner. I'd Definitely go back! We chose to pick up our order and ate elsewhere not because of Habibis but due to the outside street vibe. Five stars for food and service. I'd remove one star for street ambiance but Habibis can't control that so I left it at 5! read more

Veggie friendly! I had birria for the first time hear although normally I eat veg. I liked the veggie plate which has falafel, hummus, baba. and the veggie kebob plate which has hummus, rice. Both come with salad and pita. People who work here are nice and it's a comfortable place within a somewhat daunting neighborhood. read more

So glad to have tried this spot out for a quick lunch this Monday. Had the quesobirria tacos, everything was so flavorful and fresh. Just the perfect amount of spice. When I saw this spot open. I was curious about it. I went and unfortunately I was unable to try the food. I was in the area and wanted to try this place but they were not open. They updated their hours on Yelp two weeks ago stated they would be open at 11 am. They posted their hours on their door it said they would open at 11am. I went there at 11:30~11:40 am. The restaurant was pitch black and there were 3-4 people inside the closed restaurant but unfortunately they didn't look like they work there. Just disappointed. What is the point of posting the hours on yelp and on the door if they don't bother to open. read more

SALTY!!! I got the shrimp plate. It was SO SALTY as if I was eating salt on a spoon. Even the rice was salty. The flavor of everything had potential just way too much salt. I rinsed off the sauce of the shrimp twice and it was still salty. The rice was overcooked. The beans were mid, nothing special. The pico was basically chopped sweet onions. The salsa was mid as well, not much flavor except the red was just spicy that's it. Wouldn't come again. read more
