Before I purchased a Groupon I wanted to read reviews on her service so I came on yelp to find the business and I could not locate it. When speaking to her she told me "no I don't have yelp, you have to pay for services like that". I just thought to myself... WEIRD. Your a business, yelp is great promotion, who doesn't YELP?! But I kept my mouth closed and didn't say anything. I inquired about microblading which is what she is advertising on Groupon and she tried to up sale me telling me that the option on Groupon was actually not a good deal because I would have to return for other services, but she indeed was offering promotions through herself which would be more than the Groupon but you get more services. I couldn't help but to think then why did you advertise on there... she referred me to her instagram page to look at pictures of her work. Her page is unprofessional not enough pictures of her work, and honestly after viewing the terrible job she did on other clients I decided to opt out of scheduling an appointment.

Charla was very unprofessional and did not give me the respect I deserve as a new client. Her Groupon states that she handle natural hair. That is not the experience I had. I have been natural for over 6 years and have has many blow outs done by many people. She did not handle my hair as if she knew much about safely dealing with the curls of black hair without damaging the hair. She did things that go directly against how natural hair should be handled. Like instead determining what type of hair I have and how it needs to be handled she blow dried my just a bit then put me under the dryer causing the roots of my hair to dry while still in its curly state. After that she proceed to comb through those dry stiff curls with a small tooth comb. The Groupon deal I discussed with her did not include a cut. I did not want a cut. She never actually had a conversation with me at all once I got to her chair. This should have been a sign to me that this was going to be a problem. After she did a horrible job of blowing out my hair and flat ironing it she started to cut my hair. At no point was there a mirror I could actually see the progress of my hair. I was not even given a mirror to check the final results when she was complete. By the time I realized that she was cutting my hair without permission it was too late she had already started. She did not trim my ends, she totally cut my hair into a different style including bangs! When I told her I don't want it cut she said a trim is including and continued to cut. there are not enough words to express how displeased I am with not just the style but the service I received.

If she did not know how to put the added curly hair at the ends of the braids, she should have just said that. I was in a bind to find a braider at short notice and she was available for the next morning. (Feb 5) Came and got it done in about 7 hours or so. The very next day after I got my hair done I specified to the stylist that my hair was unraveling on all of my braids. She stated that she did not burn the ends because of the curly hair but that she had tied knots around them. when I took a picture and showed her that the ends were NOT tied, she told me to come back in so that she could fix them and apologized. I was OK with this because I assumed she would just fix the problem and I will go on about my day. This was SUNDAY (Feb 6) I went back and she said she fixed it. However the next day (now Monday-7th) more braids were coming out n I had to try to braid them back myself. I was not about to call her again because at this point i no longer trusted her and did not expect to receive my money back, but I am definitely not a braider so I did not do a good job. Also the curly pieces kept falling off randomly and i was finding them all over the floor. But I thought-- oh maybe she just missed a few. Now THURSDAY (feb 11), 5 days after initial Install, I am in MEXICO. I was so embarrassed that my hair was unraveling the entire trip. We went with multiple people and I had to always try to put my hair into a bun to conceal it and couldn't let it lay down because of the pieces that were so choppy. Now my entire hair is unraveling every day to the point where it is so embarrassing it looks very very unprofessional as if my 7 year old daughter did my hair. I'm so sorry because she's such a nice person but this is a very horrible job and I feel like she should've just been honest that she didn't know how to do this style. I literally just gave away $200 for someone to play around in my hair and make me look stupid. FYI this is NOT my first boho braided style so the maintenance is not a problem. Regardless, the hairstyle should have DEFINITELY gone past 1 day without falling apart and more than 5 days without falling OUT. I heard Eden was gentle with natural hair, great with color and knowledgeable about all hair types so I booked an appointment. I have to say I really enjoyed my visit and the atmosphere at her salon. I booked an appointment for a deep condition, roller set and cut. We discussed my hair goals and she recommended some great products to keep up my natural curls in between trims. I made a same day appointment for a scalp treatment and blow dry after having a ton of products in my hair. The lady that did my hair had only been working there for a few weeks and was unfamiliar with the services but was a great stylist. She was gentle with my natural hair and walked me through the steps she was taking. The salon wasn't busy at all and it was easy to feel relaxed. I definitely recommend for a last minute press.

So let me tell you what I think about her business, Sassy Girl Design. She is never there on time, she will promise you a date for the products to be done and then she still won't have it done in time. When it is done, it's crooked, spelled wrong, using the wrong colors, the sizing isn't consistent, and overall the work is shoddy and expensive for the quality of work. You'd be better off getting something off Etsy or mass produced in a sweatshop, half the price and twice the quality. I won't be using her services again.

Okay, so I usually shave my hair around the back and sides and I usually have the top braided in some type of individual braids, but I've been letting my sides and back girl out since New Year's and it's not long enough to braid for a sew in. So I decided to go with my first quick weave and I had been asking around, but it seemed like a lot of stylists don't want to bother with my hair because it's very short and natural. I spoke with Miss TJ after I spoke with a couple of other stylists and I immediately knew I was going to like her. She was professional and very informative She also had a lot of patience with me when I told her this would be my very first quick weave. She fully explain to me the process of the quick weave and also requested that I send her pictures of what style I was looking to achieve. Then we set an appointment for 2p today and she was there on time and waiting for me. She also went so far as to explain each step to me as she was doing it and my style came out great. There were only two things I did not like about the salon: 1. The name of the salon is called Glamour Styles and it's on the second floor of Tantrums (a preschool toddler care or something like that). 2. The stairs are kind of scary... would be very easy to fall down. Once you get past all of that, the salon is very beautiful on the inside mostly wooden has lots of shampoo chairs and dryer chairs and also each hairstylist is in a different suite. So you don't have to sit in the middle of the open floor while everyone watches you get your hair done. Bottom line: I would recommend this salon to a friend and I will be going back to get my hair done again.
