Continuing my pizza kick, Emelio's. Your classic Columbus style. Nice crunchy crust, gooey tasty cheese, pepperoni with a plenty of flavor and a little kick. What sets this apart is the sauce. There isn't a bunch, but it has some more zest to it compared to Tommy's. I'd go so far as to say it's much better than Tommy's, but I'm a big fan of both. Overall, I'd give the edge to Emelio's. This pizza did not make it to the morning. No I didn't share it with anyone. Yes, I realize that's probably not healthy. Try it and you'll understand. read more

Let's get right to it. I ordered the special salad which is a nice size portion for 2 people. Salad reminds me of Olive Garden's salad but not quite. It was missing the crunch but was served with 2 saltine crackers. It was okay . The pizza was much better than I expected. Ordered a medium cheese with pepp, onion, and banana peppers. The crust was thin, and a lot crunchier than I would like but the pizza was still good. Our waitress was amazing. She remembered our orders ( 6 total) with no paper or pen. A+ for their response to COVID19. They offered prompt telephone service, and there was only allowed one customer in the building at a time. You go in and pay and then wait in your car for someone to bring your food out to you. C- for the food. Their pizza crust was thin. The pepperoni's were spicy to the point of being inedible. Overall it does not make for a good reheat and eat the next day pizza. After two bites of leftovers I ended up throwing the rest of my meal away. read more

Saw a lot of good reviews on this place and decided to check it out. Ordered a half pepperoni/mushroom and mushroom/cheese. Also ordered the garlic/cheese bread. They have it set up for one person at a time in the building. Pizza had a slightly spicy sauce on it with a ton of cheese. The pizza had old world pepperoni that was nice and spicy. Garlic cheese bread also very cheesy but a little burnt around the edge. Staff was very friendly and brought the pizza out to my car. Place was super busy at the time. Having heard good things about the pizza I was finally able to give it a try. I live the nonchain local establishments and this did not disappoint! Upon arriving the small parking lot was overfilled though i was still able to find a spot. The first door we tried was the takeout side - nice to have it separate so it doesn't over crowd the small dine in area. The dine in side has a small amount of seating along the wall and a large bar with stools. The menu is only pizza, subs, and house salad which means to me the pizza will be great - and it was. The thin crust was perfect, not too thin. The sauce had a great flavor and there was no skimping on the toppings. The salad was also great. It was a lot atmosphere and friendly service. Soda was served by the can though it didn't make a difference to me. I'll definitely go back or at least order pizza to go. It's a place I will recommend!! read more

Based on pictures, the pizza looked worth a try, so I got a 10" Cheese + Three: sausage, mushroom and onion. They are currently remodeling inside, so no dine-in right now. My pizza came hot outta the oven, - the box was heated as we took our pizzas back home. Their pizza isn't as thin a crust as, say, Donatos, but definitely thinner than Pizza Hut - really good, imo. The sauce isn't tangy, more on the sweeter side, but not necessarily "sweet"; just really damn good. The ratio of toppings to crust was fluffin perfect, nothing was skimped on. There pizza is Awesome! It's like Old school pizza it's Ohio style they use old world pepperoni, Sausage is delicious, make there own crust every thing taste delicious that comes on there pizza . They always cook it well enough which I find can be a issue at a lot of places. It's a small place with a small bar attached so you can go in and have a beer or a cocktail with your pizza if you want or there's seating on the other side if you don't want to sit in bar area. Service is always good . There special salad is a perfect name it's the best Italian salad in town comes with old school pepperoni, shaved provolone cheese house made dressing is delicious! Food was mediocre, my wedding planners ended up having to clear most of the glassware, desert plates, silverware and chargers which delayed the cleanup of the venue.The cake cutting was awful looking. When I reached out to the owner Annette DiSabiato to see what happened, she was rude and argumentative. She blamed the teenagers I hired for cleanup, my wedding planners and anyone else she could blame but her team. With the tip ( which I should not have given) it was 10,000 for 130 ppl for pasta and charcuterie. The contract clearly stated bussing throughout. I was distracted with my daughters wedding and did not notice they had not done what they were contractually obligated to do and I ended up having to help clean up instead of joining my family for the after party. Okay, let me start by saying I am a pizza snob! I grew up working in a pizza shop throughout high school and part of college. The family that owned it helped raise me so I was in that shop every day for probably four years and developed my snobbiness about pizza. Therefore, I like to think I know a little bit about pizza expecially I know what I like and what I don't and I know the difference. I moved into the Westgate neighborhood New Year's Eve and there have been two other pizza shops that I've tried because people in the neighborhood have talked about them. Emilio's was the one I hadn't yet tried. So it was time that I try this new to me pizza place. Emelio's is more than a pizza shop it is absolutely Heaven on the pizza Earth! I looked them up online first and then called and asked if they would deliver oh, yes they do deliver to my neighborhood. He said it would be an hour and a quarter or an hour and a half I said that's fine. I ordered my medium double cheese, pepperoni and onion as I have at the other two. I had read comments that they had what was called 'special salad' with homemade house dressing so I ordered a quart. Let's start with the special salad! Oh my gosh here's my version of what I think I inhaled. I believe it was iceberg lettuce which I dearly loved and then some typical salad toppings but their pepperoni in it was already cooked oh my gosh. The house dressing is more than just vinegar and oil because it has pepper in it and something else... oh my gosh you could almost drink it like your morning coffee. I honestly don't know where to begin trying to describe my pizza experience! Do I start telling you about the little pepperonis that give it just enough grease and suck so much flavor and texture? Or, do I tell you about having double cheese and never again do I need to order double cheese like that because they put so much cheese on their pizzas and the pepperoni is on top of the cheese. Their cheese, I would say, is more than just some big block of cheese that they shred it is really really really flavorful. There onions are not diced into little squares they are really sliced and then in thin pieces more than just a diced square. There's not enough words allowed for my review to talk about their crust! There just isn't enough room for me to tell you about their crust. Let's start by saying it's thin but not paper-thin; my son says it has sugar in. I don't know if it does all I know is that the crust is well worth eating the next morning as cold pizza. SAUCE SAUCE SAUCE....as a poor kid before getting a job we used Chef Boy-R-Dee with sauce in the can and I'd take a spoon and eat sauce before slathering the crust. That's what I want to do with a vat of their sauce. Flavorful, bright, thick and plenty on the pizza. SAUCE SAUCE SAUCE I am not sure how long emelio's has been on Georgesville road just South of Sullivant. I do believe that it is a one-owner one-family Endeavor all of these decades though. Emelio's is on the west side and quite a drive for us but the pizza is so good and reasonably priced we have to have it. They have pizza, subs and salad. I hear the salads are fabulous but we have not yet gotten one because we want pizza. Some day that will change. Pizza and salad. Yummy. There is inside seating and a parking lot. First of all, Emelio's is a wonderful bar/pizza shop. The small bar/dining room is old-style and comforting. The service - Renee and the rest of the staff - are incredibly personal, friendly, and accommodating. The star of the show is pizza - great crust and toppings. The Works is an incredible pizza and is reported to be their most popular. The Italian sausage is a shredded-style pork with good flavor that is not overwhelming. We frequently do carry-out, but as usual there is no substitute for a pizza fresh out of the oven. Love the subs too but have a hard time choosing between that and the pizza so usually pick the pizza. I'm not a pizza lover anywhere but Emelios'. First time trying Emilio's. Place is very small inside but was packed with people. Happened to find 2 seats at the bar next to a great couple to chat with during our visit. When you have pizza, you must have beer. Boyfriend and I started with a beer and shared an Italian Sub and medium pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and onions. The sub was full of toppings and very flavorful. Honestly I could have eaten the whole sub by myself. The pizza had a crispy cracker crust that stayed crisp even with all the grease on the bottom. Great distribution of toppings and also very flavorful. We were watching salads come out of the kitchen to others near us. Looks so good we will have to stop back so we can try one. It was a really nice homey feel as soon as we walked in. Everyone seemed to be regulars and know each other and they made us very welcome. Made it to Emelio's to give them a try and I was not disappointed. Got a medium pepperoni, mushroom and onion pizza and a Super Italian sub. The pizza crust was a very thin, crispy cracker crust that supported the pizza. The sub meats were plentiful and had great flavor not usually found with most other sub shops. One other note is that there pizza passed the next day's cold pizza test. We also saw others that had the salad that looked very good, will have to try that's on the next visit. As for the decor it is a great little neighborhood bar, light on seating so it is packed when they are busy but the staff did a great job keeping up. read more
