This hotel was near most places in Corpus so my family booked the place over the weekend. You can tell on the outside it's pretty old but did have plenty of parking (you have to pay $10 per day for it though). You can absolutely see part of the beach on the side of the building and can swim or go for a walk without driving anywhere if you don't want to. Going inside the building it does look pretty nice. Seemed they did some work there compared to outside and everything seemed clean. The staff was very friendly and was able to set us up quick. Be aware they do want a credit card on file and take $100 deposit (you are given the money back if nothing is broken or damaged in the room). We were put on the 3rd floor that viewed the parking lot and part of the water/beach. Windows were dirty/foggy which was unfortunate since would have been great view. Can still see it but not as clear as I would want. The room itself was nice. Everything was organized, clean, and you have a TV you can watch with or stream on. The ac unit worked pretty well too kept the room cool. The bathroom was nice but feel like it needs a humidifier somewhere since it steams up quickly and gets stuffy in there if you take warm or hot showers. They do also serve free breakfast in the mornings which had decent options. I liked their egg white omelet with veggies and bacon good. There is a machine where it pushes out pancakes. They are tiny but good enough to start the day with. Overall the experience was alright and was cheap enough to be able to do what we want without going far. The hotel room was clean. The staff are very nice. Two nice things, two stars. I think the 5 star rating people are staying in a different part of the hotel. We stayed in the two floor section of rooms on the beach. To me, the hotel is aging, decrepit. Some of these details may not matter to you. The room phone doesn't work. This is a service and safety concern. The security doors to be let into the hallway toward your room do not work. Anyone can walk in. That's another safety issue. There are bent/broken and poorly repaired ceiling panels in my bathroom. There is no drain cover for the bathroom sink. Any ring or jewelry can disappear. WIFI does not exist. The metal lamp bases are rusting. It was a poor choice for an oceanside hotel. The lamp shade was spotted with mold and rust. There are mold spots on the sheer curtains. The fire alarm is vintage and dirty. A neighboring room had its upper patio supported by gray beams. Gray made me think those beams have been there a *long* time. Out of the control of the property is the thick humidity. It made the ceramic floors feel sticky upon arrival. But I think Iʻd rather have the ceramic flooring than carpets in this environment. If mold can grow on curtains, Iʻm concerned what may be hidden in carpets. Again, some of this may be unimportant for those who want to stay on the beach. But for about the same price, there are nearby hotels with better ratings. I would not go back. read more

We've stayed here many times and we've always enjoyed it. This trip was no exception. We always get a room facing the gulf so we can sit on the balcony and drink coffee while enjoying the view and listening to the surf. Our last Corpus trip we stayed at another hotel that had balconies but you couldn't access them. My wife got cold one evening and asked if she could come get an extra blanket, they gladly brought her one. The room was clean and everyone was very friendly. We enjoyed a couple drinks at Kokomo's. The only thing that is subpar is the breakfast buffet. You pay for a breakfast buffet and they bring you a togo container of assorted foods, ours came with pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatos, a biscuit and a container of gravy. No syrup came with the pancakes, we asked for it and got it. We skipped it after that. We'll definitely stay here again. read more

That the cleaning lady never came in and got some. When i say it's a hole, i really mean it, there was literally on the shower curtain, see pics. Hotel smells , employees are incompetent, i do not have 1 single good thing to say about this play. If i could give 0 stars i would. I don't think they serve food anymore but id they do, do not eat it. There are roaches everywhere. I'm so disgusted. I couldn't sleep at all as i feared i would get sick. Stayed here 6 years ago and loved it -- not anymore. New owners have let the place decline badly. Room wasn't worth the price: broken desk chair, worn-out couch, stiff beds (definitely full-size, not queen). AC barely worked, water and toilet pressure were poor. No housekeeping during multi-night stays. Breakfast was just pastries and jelly. They charge for parking but make you park at the Holiday Inn a block away. Front desk was rude, and we had an issue with people banging on our door -- but the room phone didn't even work to call for help. Very disappointing experience. read more

I don't even know where to start. This used to be an amazing place and it still can be it is a beautiful location . But.... The lobby smelled dirty and not welcoming! Check in is at 4 and we couldn't get a room till 3 1/2 hours later, we weren't the only ones, so many people were upset. When we did finally get a room .. the room was hot and musty .... and there was construction dust everywhere. Carpets were dirty, but linens and bedding appeared to be clean and beds were comfortable. Restaurant and indoor bar is closed and amenities such as room service were not available. " breakfast" was a loaf of white bread which would have been better suited for the seagulls. It was laughable at best. The outdoor bar is a beautiful setting .. weathered look , which is fine and understandable, but having to enjoy a drink with dirty old fruit, cigarette butts, empty beer cans and trash scattered everywhere, does not warrant the prices of drinks. Service was slow and drinks had little to no ice . Definitely not worth $10.00 per drink. One of the perks of this place is the beach used to be private and CLEAN , now it's open to the public which causes parking lot to be full... the so called " resort like " area ( as stated on their website ) had dirty cans, diapers , plastic bags and a HUGE amount of cigarette butts.. it was disgusting. We had to park at an adjoining hotel parking lot, due to no parking which is taken over by non hotel guests. There is a large presence of questionable people who are openly smoking pot . The outdoor areas and hallways in the hotel smelled of pot!! We witnessed multiple couples fighting , smoking indoors and NONE of the exterior doors have working secure entry for only hotel guest. Non guest were taking over the parking lots , beach as well as going in and out of the indoor pool as if it was for public use . It appears that they are going under some construction which was not stated when reservations were made . It is understood that when visiting the coast you run into some run down places due to being on the coast and the weather, BUT cosmetic issues should have no bearing on cleanliness . Simply having someone picking up trash would have made a world of difference ! Guest are NOT safe here guaranteeing your guest are the only ones able to get into guest areas, with increased security presence to discourage loitering and active drug use would have been greatly appreciated . We are so disappointed and I will NOT be bringing my family back. Until they can get this place back to where it used to be .. We did attempt to leave with a refund due to the conditions of the hotel and we were told to reach out to Priceline which then called the hotel whom did not answer the phone over several attempts. So we were not able to get a refund and we were stuck with the room. Pool area could be really nice , but it was dirty with trash everywhere , no towels or an attendant to keep the pool area clean. Sand was everywhere to where it was mud all around the pool. Pool was over chlorinated and not clear. Hot tub looked like an infection ready to happen .. we stayed FAR away! read more

Deserves ZERO stars. Upon arrival we found our room smelled like fresh paint, discovered paint chipping all over the place, dirty sheets and our bathroom door had a massive dent in it, which I took photo evidence of but upon check out I was accused of breaking the door and was charged for someone else's preexisting damage out of a $200 security deposit that was not mentioned during booking but instead sprung on us at check in. Other guest were complaining of leaks and flooding in their rooms. Do not stay here it's not worth your money, but if you do make sure you have an employee go into the room with you the first time so you're not basically robbed by this poor excuse of a hotel. Also just a heads up you have to pay to park $10/day because their parking lot is public so good luck finding parking on a busy day. Edited: Did not see a food managers certificate anywhere. I would not eat the food in the restaurant or drink anything the bar has to offer. Based on the cleanliness and service I can't imagine their food storage and kitchen cleanliness are acceptable. I'm staying here for a little over a week and let me tell you although the staff is friendly. I've had to move my room 3×. 1st time the AC did not work in the room. When I finally got an upgrade to a balcony room I was told it was $80 for the upgrade but was not told it was $80 per day so when I had the $400 charge to my card I was dumbfounded I let them know I couldn't afford that and they said that it went through so I just had to eat that cost Now I'm in my new room and I've noticed that the floor is completely dirty. I'm gonna upload a picture of the towel that I used to clean my floors not to mention I've been here for a while, and I haven't seen a single person clean the Jacuzzi downstairs that does not work and all of the small stores that are attached are not open. This hotel is a misrepresentation on every level, from fake amenities to dangerous conditions. The hotel claims to offer a wide array of features, but nearly everything advertised is false or broken: WiFi and Internet: Not functional at all. Parking: You pay $15/day to fight for a public parking spot. There is no guest-reserved parking. Dining: There is no restaurant, no open bars (only one bar exists), and the "Sandbar" lounge is closed. Coffee is available in the mornings--barely. Pools: The indoor pool was freezing (~65°F) with no working pumps, leaving maintenance to dump large amounts of chemicals manually. The pool water sits still all day. The hot tub is no better--your eyes will sting from chemical overuse. Worst of all, the rusty pool rails pose a serious safety hazard, especially to children. Unfortunately, this hotel is definitely a 1 star rating. I would encourage you to trust all the negative reviews & find somewhere else to stay. I grew up staying here with my family over the past 15-20 years. I always loved this hotel & it holds great memories for me. I was prepared for it to be older & not quite as I remembered when I was last here around 7 years ago. But there's a difference in age & just straight up no longer being taken care of. I believe they've completely let this property go. Upon check in, there was a woman who had also just checked in, gone up to her room, and immediately came back down saying there was no way she was staying in this hotel under these conditions. I don't feel like our room was nearly as bad as hers, but it still wasn't worth the price. All of our room furniture was old & chipped, the bathroom is insanely small, the ceiling tile above the shower is pushed in & disgusting, and the shower has a hard time draining. We also found roaches hanging on the curtains when we went to close them at night. This hotel having it's own private beach is what brings a lot of people in. Don't let that fool you. This section of beach is the nastiest & least cared for out of all the ones I've been to in CC. It's a much smaller area than it used to be & the sand seems more like gravel with all the shells, rocks & trash. We've been driving 20-30 minutes away for a nicer beach day which is really sad when we paid extra to be in a hotel with its own private section. If you think we'll try it, maybe it's not that bad. Although the beachfront view was a delight, I surely would not recommend this as a top choice for fellow Corpus travelers. The hotel has some great qualities, like the location, and I love older buildings, but this one has not been well maintained. Our room was large, and had some updates, like quarts countertops, but that only made it even more obvious that other things were not well kept, and out of date. I would have taken Formica countertops any day over poorly painted walls, leak stained ceilings, dirty carpet in hallways, etc... The customer service was non-existent. Nobody was rude, but nobody seemed to care either. Although it's not the hotel's fault, I will also point out that this is a rowdy place. Lots of partying, which doesn't bother me, but may be good to know for quieter types. Lots of kids, which only bothers me when I can't slip into the pool without getting splashed. read more

Pros: -Great bar service. Aaron is so amazing! He was always making sure we had everything we needed throughout our whole stay. He even named a drink after me at Kokomos bar! (Sam's Sunset) I came here for my 21st birthday and I felt comfortable asking questions, making suggestions, and I felt like I actually built somewhat of a friendship with him over the 6 days I've been here. -The store in the pool area has plenty of snacks and drinks to grab on your way out to the private beach. I forgot sunglasses (How? I'm not sure) so on the way out to the beach I went in the store to see if they had any for me to buy; while they were outdated, (I hadn't realized we were in 2008 lol) I found a pair that worked well enough. I was able to charge almost everything in the hotel to my room so I didn't have to carry cash/my debit card everywhere. -Despite the reviews, the AC in our room worked extremely well! Almost too well lol. Our room was dramatically colder than the entire hotel, it was amazing! We were able to come to the room and just cool down anytime we needed too. -This one is a mix pro/con. In the pool area they had a small arcade. It was kind of outdated, but they had 4 claw machines, 1 air hockey table, 2 pool tables, and so much more! The arcade is in the same small room as the indoor pool and hot tub, so it's EXTREMELY hot and humid. My fiancé couldn't stay in the arcade long because he got too hot. The pool is normally overrun with an unreasonable amount of unsupervised children, so if you go in be prepared to be splashed....A LOT. -Once again, despite the reviews, the front desk staff, and management were both helpful and kind! When I arrived there was a slight mix up with the card that was being added to my room, but they got it cleared pretty quickly and very easily! Cons: -House keeping didn't come to our room for the entire 6 days we were there. We asked probably the second or third night if they could empty our trash and replace the toilet paper. I saw housekeeping leaving the room so I went in to look and they literally hadn't done anything at all. She had just walked in, been there for a little bit then walked out. No idea what she was doing if she wasn't cleaning. -The walls and ceilings were very water damaged, the emergency exit sign outside our door was so damaged it was actually hanging by wires out of the ceiling. The enter and exit doors are very heavy, to the point where my fiance struggled to hold open the door and it slammed on my elbow. The complementary hair dryer didn't work the entire time we were there, even asking maintenance to fix it didn't help. The ice machine was also broken, so I had to ask someone to grab me ice, it took them almost 25 mins to bring us the ice back. -The entire layout of the hotel is beautiful but can also be confusing, when you check in they even give you a full blown MAP just to find your room! I felt like I was on a treasure hunt lol! While it's pretty much one big loop, it's a very very big loop. Our room was in the very back by the beach itself, and it took us a while to make it into the parking lot, and then our room. -On our very last night there at 2 in the morning, someone pulled the fire alarm. We followed the evacuation route, when we made it out there we found out someone pulled it. The way we found out was because a security guard came walking up to us while laughing on his radio, he then asked if this was the building the alarm came from. I mean....Duh? I called the front desk to ask what just happened, and the guy who answered was just laughing and joking with the other people at the desk. I let him know the fire alarm went off in our room, so we wouldn't be checking out on time. He was very dismissive about my concerns and feelings in the situation but ended up conceding when I said firmly that we will be checking out late, and won't be getting charged and then I hung up. Overall I had a great experience at the hotel. It's an awesome place to spend a weekend (or more) partying, and relaxing in the sun. The beach is beautiful and it actually has a fair amount of sea life! I would definitely recommend college kids/younger adults to check this place out and relax with a Sam's Sunset made by the best bartender, Aaron! read more

I'm 78 years old and have traveled a lot both foreign and domestic. Generally we exercise care in selecting our hotels with only a few regrets over the years but choosing the Emerald Beach Hotel in Corpus Christi was a major error on our part. On our first night (10/24/23) between the hours of approximately 1:00am and 6:00am we heard INSIDE OUR ROOM no less than FIVE loud, piercing false fire-alarm blasts at approximately one hour intervals. Needless to say we were not able to sleep at all that night. After the second alarm I tried to call the front desk but the phone was out of order. After the third alarm I got dressed and went to ask the night desk clerk about the problem. I was told the alarms were reoccurring due to electrical faults in the pool area. The alarm system could not be deactivated because there were not enough hotel personnel on duty to monitor the building. Furthermore, the night desk clerk informed me that a number of the rooms had no functioning phones, that there had been a number of false fire alarms in past days and weeks as the building was undergoing various types of renovations. My wife and I had absolutely no sleep and then suffered the inconvenience of checking out and moving our luggage to another hotel before we could continue our vacation. We asked for and got a refund for two unused nights of our reservation. The one night we stayed was so unsatisfactory that we asked for a refund but that was refused. I didn't get a sense or see much evidence that the hotel was undergoing significant renovations. On the contrary the property seems poorly maintained and in a state of visible decay. Don't be taken in by the hotel's boast that it is the only hotel on the beach in downtown Corpus Christi. That doesn't count for much if the hotel is a dump. read more

We spent a few nights here recently and it wasn't all that bad. If you're looking for a decent priced place that is right on the beach, look no further. Yes, it's older. No, it isn't the Omni up the street. The shower took a bit to heat up and the bed was not the softest but it has everything you need for a short/weekend trip. The bar on-site, Kokomos, is staffed with friendly bartenders who know how to pour a drink. It's cec teal location worked out great for us and the purpose of our trip. The only real complaint I have would be that checkout is at 11am and at 10:45am (while I was on a work call) the housekeeping came by knocking like they were serving a warrant for us to check out. As we tried to get out of the room with a cart with a wonky wheel and a baby in hand the housekeeping made a comment in Spanish that we were in a bad mood because of the checkout. No, lady, we were upset that you're rushing us out and we're using a cart that can't barely move/turn WITH A BABY IN HAND! The front desk ladies are really professional and helpful. The room itself wasn't to bad, the bed was old and the pillows weren't big but it was clean and had a mini fridge. The building and grounds area where littered with trash, On the beach and the hotel itself. Our dogs came back with fleas which they didn't have before. The owners kids had run of the place and loved being rude to the staff. The security door didn't work so anyone could come in. This wouldn't be a bad place if they just cleaned it up. Hire the homeless guy out there to pick up trash on the beach if need be. I remember it as a kid and it used to be real pretty but not any more. read more

If I could rate this hotel a zero, I would. I checked into the Emerald Beach Hotel in Corpus Christi, Texas this evening. Upon checking into the hotel, I noticed that the lobby was unkept with regard to water and dirt tracked through the lobby by people who had been in the pool area. I also observed one patron requesting a refund due to purchasing a dedicated parking space for which there were no parking slots. She was told she would be refunded the cost. Another patron requested a refund for the entire hotel stay because the air condition in his room did not work and there was no parking. I asked the hotel representative what we were supposed to do if there was no parking available, to which he replied there was parking across the street in a church parking lot. This is unacceptable given the hotel room for a 2-night stay costs 350.00 which was immediately taken from my checking account without the opportunity to be refunded in a timeframe that would allow my family to find another hotel to stay at for our desired price point.  We got our room keys and proceeded to the elevator. Another patron advised that we needed to check our hot water because she had none and staff was not being helpful. In addition, only 1 of 2 elevators was operational, and guests were waiting up to 10 minutes to get to their rooms and/or crowding onto the elevator. When me and my husband arrived at our room, the hotel door was wide open and moths were flying around.  We went back downstairs and reported the situation to the representative and voiced our concerns regarding the unsafe environmental conditions of the hotel: a. having to park across the street, b. wet floors in the lobby, c. only 1 of 2 elevators working which resulted in overcrowding on the elevator, d. an open door to a hotel room someone just checked into, e. air conditioning not working in certain rooms with Texas temperatures at over 100 degrees, and f. some rooms being without hot water, which isn't a safety issue but is certainly a discomfort at almost $400.00 for a 2-night stay. When we got assigned a second room, the conditions for $350 were subpar. For example, the television did not work for more than 5 minutes. There was no signal. I later recalled that when I stayed here years ago that I was advised by hotel representatives that tv signals were subpar depending on the position of your hotel room. To top it all off, I was charged a $100 hold for incidentals. All together, this was a $450 hotel stay for these subpar, and unsafe conditions. This is unacceptable. I implore you to reconsider staying at this hotel. DO NOT DO IT. Take your money and stay at the Omni Hotel, Embassy Suites Hotel, or some other hotel that would be worth a $450.00 stay (the price of the 2-night hotel stay plus incidentals). I was told they are transitioning to a Hotel Indigo which is contributing to these conditions, but if this is a sneak peak of what is to come, again, take your business elsewhere. read more

I really wish I had looked on Yelp before booking this hotel. I'm so glad we're only staying one night. You would think being a somewhat "native" Corpus Christian, I'd know that this place isn't all it's cracked up to be. It looked so nice on Expedia with its "beach." Boy, we're we duped. From the beginning, it seemed like it was going to be a bad experience all around. Let me paint the picture for you. We arrive on a Saturday afternoon as check in is at 4pm. As we drive up, it was cloudy and windy, and apparently, everyone wanted to check in at the same time. Parking was very limited, but we found a parking spot on our first time around which was good. We were on the second floor, so we had to walk up the stairs as there is no elevator where we were. Walking in to the room, it was definitely a beach condo vibe which we are not used to. We usually stay in places like the Omni or Fairfield. I don't know. Maybe we're hotel snobs, but we did not like this place at all. Named a "hotel", you would expect a hotel, not a condo. We got a 2 double bed room facing the "beach." Right when we walked in, there was a small puddle of what we guessed was water on the floor in between the two beds. Not a good start. At least the AC worked. It was on full blast probably to combat the humidity that Corpus is known for. Even my pillow felt like it was wet with the humidity. A few pluses which is why I'm giving them any stars at all. Of course, the beach. I don't think any other hotel along the bay has a beach. The balcony is really big. We actually thought it was for two rooms (it wasn't). The location is excellent. Right at the end of the sea wall, so you can scooter around up and down Ocean Drive. There was a bar on the first floor just off the lobby area. And finally, if you have kids, the indoor pool is huge! Sorry, I didn't get a picture of the pool. Unfortunately, we were not able to take advantage of any of those things because the weather was horrible. Our fault completely. The beach is a little small, and it looked dirty like one of the pictures I saw on here with trash collected in one spot. Too windy to enjoy sitting out on the balcony. Couldn't scooter along the sea wall due to the rain. We were able to take advantage of the bar once, but every time after that the line was way too long. There was only one bartender getting drinks as well as food. And the pool was packed because no one wanted to go out to the beach. We will definitely not be returning, nor would we recommend it. Place is a dump and is managed by liars! Do your family a huge favor and stay somewhere else! Everything is rundown and filthy! Had 3 rooms for 3 days.. floors were filthy, black feet and socks when walking.. they never cleaned the rooms..even after they said they would after I requested it! Hallways and elevators were disgusting! Doubt they've been wiped down in years! Beachfront if full of druggies and bums! Only thing staying here did was make us all happy to be back home!! Do not stay here! This place was built in 1965 and should have been torn down in 2005. The room smelled, the bathtub was dirty with a crushed roach lying in it, the clothes/towel hook on the door fell off, the bathroom door scraped and was hard to close, the phone did not work so we could not call the front desk for anything, there was only one towel in the bathroom, the Wi-Fi did not reach through the entire hotel (it worked great in the lobby), the TV was small with a guide that did not match the channel selection, no battery cover on the remote, no ports for charging electronics, and the pool stayed open until 11:00 PM with hotel guests and their loud, out-of-control brats running around and yelling until 11:30. Hotel management did nothing to help the situation. "Breakfast" was pretty much non-existent offering a bagel, some other non-descript pastry and a bowl of apples. Not exactly what I would expect for what they charged to stay there. They also charge to park your car after you check in even though the gate and pass dispenser to the parking lot was broken. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. The place looks fine on the outside, but it is definitely deceiving. read more

Broken glass, stains and hair on bed open arrival, outlets and bulbs out, no refund or corporate to talk to so you will be cheated out of your hard earned money and regrets your vacation. The staff is not helpful and we had our toilet break 3 times in one night. It's a nightmare please avoid this hotel and look somewhere else! I will be telling all of my family and friends to stay as far away from here as humanly possible if I could rate it lower I definitely would not even give it half a star. I don't like leaving negative reviews but I'll make an exception for this one. Where do I start? 1. The AC in the room wasn't working, from people we met in the elevator, theirs weren't working either so we weren't the only ones having issues 2. Parking is not free as stated in the booking 3. We tried taking a shower in the morning and water wasn't coming out of the shower head, just from the bottom 4. There's two elevators but only one was working. Payed $277 for a one night stay after dealing with Hurricane Beryl looking for some relief after no power and weeks of turmoil.. the room temperature was hot ..AC did not work uncomfortable to say the least. This historic hotel on the Corpus Christi coast has charm and beauty. It is not without it's faults. It has probably the best location of any lodging as it is right on the beach. The partial view rooms are affordable and are a steal for the beach views you get right outside your window. My biggest tip is to book direct as there are special promo codes you can apply. Mine have 10% off. It is hit or miss with service and hospitality here. Not sure if it is a temporary COVID problem, but for the most part the Front desk was quick and accommodating. Had so many special requests that were fulfilled! On the other hand, on a busier night has to wait over an hour on a towel request. The furniture and room floors have been renovated but other parts are in desperate need for repair. read more

Definitely not a clean hotel. We booked through hotelplanner and apparently when you book third party the hotel feels they have zero responsibility to accommodate your concerns. We expressed that our phone line in the room was not working after calling from our cellphones. After messing with the actual line-we got it to work. The call was to ask if they have pool towels- they do- just very small ones. The kids enjoyed the pool area- but it just seemed cluttered and an employee was water vacuuming the walkway the entire time we were there. So if you think you can actually relax by the pool and watch your kids play, you'll also have a loud and noise vacuum on the entire time. I happened to look up- and above the pool the ceiling tiles looked like they were in desperate need of replacement- due to mold/water damage. The outside bar area and deck were also left unattended. Having stayed at beach hotels- the outside area still needs to be cleaned. My daughter rested her arms on a counter and it was so sticky- it probably hadn't been cleaned in days. There was also old and fresh bird poop in random areas. The area is clearly not wiped down regularly. Moving onto the the deck area- they had a band. We sat outside for over and hour and they didn't play a single song. Not sure what that was all about. There were some heavy smoking guests- which is no fault of the hotel- but it's not enjoyable to sit outside for fresh air and not be able to have it. We returned to our hotel room and everyone took their showers. It wasn't until we were all done showering that our daughter mentioned that she had to scrub down the tub because there was some yellow residue in it. We decided to watch some TV and realized the controller was missing the back panel. The worst was yet to come- we moved a chair closer to the bed to make sure our other child didn't rolls off the bed in the middle of the night. In the morning we discovered that under the chair was a packet of crackers and a cup stuck to the floor. It didn't belong to any of us. Who knows how long it was there. We told all of this to the front desk and they said "we'll see if we can issue a discount for the inconvenience." Upon checkout we were billed full amount- and told to ask the third party to refund us. We can't do anything about it. Asked the third party to refund- they said the hotel said that no refund or discount could be made since we completed the stay. However, they also don't refund a stay without 24 hr notice. Will not return. At one point this hotel may have been a nice hotel- but it definitely needs attention and a complete deep cleaning. read more

We've stayed here 3 different times the last few years and each time it just gets worse and worse...I honestly cannot think of a single upgrade they have done. This weekend was by far the worst experience I've ever had here but the worst one at any hotel. Our rooms were mixed up at check in, in our room it was so hot it was unbearable. We tried to call down to the front desk to see if they could send someone but the phone was broken of course lol walked down and they sent maintenance which he did some stuff with the vent and said it's fine...it had to of been 85 in there..it never got any better...the hallways either smelled like weed, fish (there was dead shrimp on the floor by our door)...we paid extra for a beach view balcony and the sliding glass door it took so much effort to open and close it my daughter and nephew could not do it. We had a family member get a room there as well and they had the same AC issues and moved rooms same as us on a different floor but it was still hot. His room had mold on the walls, the floor was sticky. We stayed 2 nights and most of the time one elevator was not working so it made waits a long time with only one functioning (barely) elevator. This is a hotel that was decent 7 years ago but whoever own it now is only trying to get as much money as they can without spending any. Honestly after this experience and this was the only hotel available I would recommend on just sleeping in your vehicle. read more

Booked three rooms...Two, of the three people reserved rooms for two nights and the third person book a room for one night. The rooms had roaches so two of us refused to stay the last night. For obvious reasons, the third person checking in for one night, did not want to stay and tried to cancel but they would not let him. We went in circles trying to explain but management simply didn't get it nor did they care. $165 lost, to a nasty unclean hotel. DON'T DO IT. read more

My husband and I recently stayed at Emerald Beach Hotel for 2 nights/3 days and we never once had a hot shower. We informed the front desk and were told that they were having issues and it would be resolved within an hour and a half. Needless to say it was not resolved. We were not informed of the situation at check-in nor were we informed that there was no parking due to construction. We were disappointed as this has always been our place of choice when visiting Corpus. We understand things happen but it would have been nice to have been told at check-in of the issues at hand instead of being told they are working on it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Stayed 3 nights for a conference and thought it would be so nice to be on the beach. This place is a joke. This is my last night before having to get up early to drive back home. The fire alarms started going off at 2:30a.m. and have continued to keep going off every 45 minutes to an hour. Since I'm now unable to sleep, I figured I might as well write this review in my psychotic, sleepless state of mind. This place reeks of moldy, mildew smell. The beach in front of the hotel is filthy. The "free continental" breakfast consists of slices of bread, a couple of bagels, and a bowl of apples and oranges. I will never stay here again. read more
