Just checked out today. First, do not believe that Emerald is the only hotel on the beach, so this is their 1st Lie. This has to be the nastiest hotel that I have ever visited. Roaches, nasty breakfast (I think they was re-using the coffee) and dirty room (especially the floors in your room). We visited with a large group and felt their site Lied and mislead us. The charge your room the full price of your stay days before, so you can not cme in and see the crappy hotel and bail out. The manager did offer another guest, who was the same race as she 10% off because of the large roaches present, but did not offer us anything. A lot of other things happened after the stole our money, but I am too tucker out from this trip. All I wish to stress is Don't Go, You will regret it. No room service, a guy came to our room with a can of Rade, no....if you have money, there are better options. Also, one of the Customer Service representative threaten to put one of our family member out when he asked him if he was the manager. He was said it Racist to assume he was the manager and would put him out of the roach infested hotel. Other guest, who did not know said it was not racist, yet a question. Our family member said he assumed it because you have the same name as the owner. This happened Saturday morning. They said they would bring some towels, we never received towels. read more

It's a shame this hotel gets two stars. It has the location to charge more if it would only stand up to that opportunity. We stayed in 703 which was the top floor facing the beach. The room looked old and was not clean or kept. The air conditioner struggled. The balcony had cigarettes and matches on the floor. The bathtub faucet was loose and about 1/2" from the tub, separation. The caulk was moldy. The door sills were dirty and I'm not being picky but they could have been cleaned at least once a month. The windows were all dirty and it had a lot of windows. The bed was extremely hard. Just a shame they don't step up their game. read more

Small, old, gross- just a few words to describe the emerald beach hotel. Now, I know I wasn't staying at a fine place, but when we checked in the restroom was dirty. The floor, there was hair everywhere and toilet seat as well We had someone come and clean it, while we went to the nearby Peter piper to eat. The next day, literally, we were gone all day- and no one came to clean the room. We did see someone in the hallway with a cart, but apparently they never came in the room. We were gone most of the day, came back around 5 informed the girl at the front desk, and she said oh okay. So we go to the beach for a while, have a drink at the outdoor bar, and come back, and still nothing. It's already around 7:30-8:00 by this time, and still, nothing. So I tell them again, and she offers me some towels. Towels!!! I wanted clean bedding, shower amenities and a place to throw trash and she offers me some towels.... Won't ever go back. read more

Stayed at EBH for a family trip, paid extra for beachside view and because it was one of the few hotels with beachfront access, and a pool that didn't look like a total loss. PROS: - view - location: close to boardwalk, scooters, excursion rentals - on-site restaurant - on-site bar - plenty of parking - gym - breakfast was basic, subject to additional charge but good! CONS: - *customer service needs improvement - **inconvenient beach access to hotel - water pressure in shower was weak - toilet seat was small/round and not elongated * Customer service needed improvement. Lobby workers didn't greet guests or welcome them to their vacation. Guest processing was slower than average. Lady at breakfast was very rude to guests and kept shouting "Next" when taking transactions to enable guests to enjoy their breakfast. ** inconvenient beach access to hotel. There are various parts is the hotel with concrete stairs that lead to nothing. The stairs are there to make getting up from the beach to the hotel easy and convenient however, most of them have been fenced off causing all pedestrians to walk all the way to Kokomo's or all the way around the hotel parking lot near the boardwalk to get up to hotel level. This is incredibly annoying for guests who aren't familiar with the setup. Made getting pizza delivery difficult. Overall, a great location and may stay again. Hope they work on improving basic customer service elements to make the guest experience more inviting. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but I also hate being surprised when I book something based on the website and it falls very short . The bug infestation is not a lie. Although we didn't see any in our room They were in the halls in the elevator in the lobby at the bars both inside and out . The staff at the lobby was slow and not pleasant . The bar staff was great ! The housekeeping was great . We did loose power for little while which was a big deal but changed our plans . I recommend staying in north padre and not in the city (Corpus Christi) at all . read more

Currently suffering through a stay at this traphouse of a hotel. It should give you an idea of how horrible this place is when I tell you we're on our THIRD room in less than 24 hours. The first room was vetoed after they placed some obnoxiously loud and trashy partiers who not only refused to quiet down when security told them they were disturbing the neighboring guests, they actually got louder and more obnoxious. Instead of management growing a pair and removing them from the property, WE were moved (along with our two kids) at 11pm. Room two greeted us with a bug crawling on the ceiling, but we were exhausted, so hubby killed it and we crashed. Next day we see a huge roach at the neighbor's door, gross, but at least it's not in our room. We attempt to take a shower, only to find the drain is clogged. We call down to have maintenance come fix it as we have a work function to get ready for. Wait 15 minutes. Call down again, "He's on the way up." Wait 15 more minutes. "Oh, we told him the wrong room number, and now he's working on something else." I tell them they're utterly ridiculous. Maintenance comes and asked me if I didn't hear him knocking at the wrong door...in a hotel... because I lurk in hotel hallways listening for people knocking at other's doors. Don't you? It was all I could do to not curse him out. But, I didn't. And he didn't fix the drain. Said he had to snake it and he wasn't sure how long it would take to finish. Still have that work function to get ready for, you remember? Husband called and asked them to move us YET again. So, for a second time we gathered up all of our stuff and move to our THIRD room. Get in here and fixtures are broken, dust is oozing out of vents and there's mold in the shower. Don't even ask about the drain in the sink. Even the downstairs bar has sorry drinks! This place is trash and if it weren't for the fact that the company is paying for it, we would've been gone yesterday. Avoid this place unless you like trashy, skanky hotels. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Edited: I should've waited until our final day to post a review. My apologies. It got even worse! We had to get our room key reprogrammed FOUR times after being moved to our new room. Then, at 4AM we were shocked awake by an ear-splitting fire alarm. It kept going on and off for an hour. We did the responsible thing and walked downstairs only to be told by the CCFD that it was okay to go back in, only to have it go off again. At that point, I didn't care if I burned to a crisp. I HATE this place. If they charge more than a PENNY to stay here, it's too expensive. The worst hotel I've ever seen. I say seen because we didn't stay for longer than an hour in the rooms. Not a chance we were spending the night. The A/C was broken in 2 of 4 of our rooms. The toilet was clogged in 2 rooms. All 4 rooms were dirty. The shower head is super short. My son is 6' and the shower head came to his cheek. We had a noticeable amount of hair in the shower in one room. One room wasn't vacuumed & had sand everywhere. The "game room" was not working. None of the games were plugged in. All in all- this hotel is super run down. The only positive is it's on the beach. There are plenty of other hotels in the area, this one should be avoided. read more

Door was jammed and would not close unless forcefully slammed shut, TV was not working, Phone was not working, and hot water for shower was not working. Also the tub had sand and hair wash out from under the shower mat when water was turned on, there was mold and mildew around the entire base of the tub and sand throughout the room on the floor. Management acknowledged the issues and apologized but refused to provide any refund because they did not provide the services they advertised. I believe I was defrauded by this hotel and have reported them to the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. The numerous other complaints against this hotel indicate there are most certainly others who should do the same to prevent them from continuing to deceive others looking for a hotel room in Corpus Christi. read more

Almost a year ago exactly I returned to this hotel for what me and my family thought would be a nice relaxing weekend trip but instead turned into a true nightmare starting with the check in experience which made you feel completely unwelcomed and uncomfortable and the parking was absolutely a nightmare especially if you aren't tech savvy and dont understand how to use a QR code to pay 10.00 yes 10.00 a day to park and you're not even given an assigned parking space there is construction galore as they are remodeling and changing the hotel altogether. Then when my family and I checked into a room the craziness ensued because the door to the room had to be pushed to open and close then the balcony sliding glass door was so difficult to open and close maintenance had to come and try and fix it and it was still difficult to open then the discovery of the soiled dirty curtains and the broken tub spout which maintenance had to jimmy rig so showers could be taken and the guy was afraid to do anything else because then we would have had a flood! Then the icing on this vacation was the clicking sounds of the fridge inside the room while we slept the last night we were there. I was hoping the reviews were wrong but was disappointed to learn the reviews were true. Here is my advice. If you have a choice between the main building or building further away pick the main building. We were put on the third floor of the further building and there were lots of issues. This building has not been fully renovated. Our bathroom door wouldn't even close. The hairdryer gave out and there were lots of dirty carpets throughout. Pool is not a good idea. It is overrun with kids everywhere. You are supposed to wear a wristband but several people didn't have one. Anyone can access the pool because the door doesn't lock. A/C doesn't cool in the main building. Asked for an accessible room but they only had two and they were both occupied. Our family was put in a room in the main building and had the misfortune of being able to hear the yelping dog next door all night. Walls are paper thin and not soundproof at all. Save your money and get a hotel nearby and cross the street to get to the beach. read more

Front entry had a revolving door that did not work. Nor did the handicap door work. Hard to push thru with luggage. Paint was chipped off all throughout the place. 'Continental Breakfast' was the worst I've ever seen! Toaster that wasn't cleaned off from the night before (saw crumbs on it the night before as we checked in). Hot water was for instant cereal, no tea selection. Only one choice of coffee. No cold cereal or milk. No plates; just napkins. Everything in a very small table and not tables to sit & have breakfast. Very unwelcoming. Called the next evening after checking out about an inquiry on a $100 'Incidental fee' several times. No one answered the phone. It's unlikely they a high volume on a weekday as it wasn't busy when we were there either. There was no 'incident' in our room, so expect to have that deposit returned asap. Do NOT recommend this place! It's gone downhill since our last stay over 4+ yrs ago, and it was bad then! Everything was TERRIBLE, except the location! Going to the rooms you start to notice all the leaks and the tolls they have made on the building, with ceiling tiles where all stained and the smell of mold and musk was over whelming even though my mask, wall paper was pealing, and the floors had water spots. I started noticing buckets, where the leaks where well permanent. The first room barely looked like it was cleaned, the beds was made but there was still trash on the floor, sand all over the place, the bath room was horrific. Nobody cleaned the toilet! The room smelled like a bum camp and semen stains all over the walls and bathroom. The next room was supposed to be an upgrade. Well we booked with Omni hotel, and LONG story short they completely disappointed me ("ticked me off") and we stayed there for one night and canceled the remaining days. I called emerald beach book the remaining days with them and I'll tell you, this place is great. Especially for family with kids. The beach is literally right behind it. Unlike the other places that state on the beach and are 1-3 miles away from a beach.... Don't have super high expectations, it is not a 5* hotel or resort and yes it's a little older, But I'll tell you this, the staff was great, the pool was better, and the beach is right out my steps with a outside tiki bar. Not a place I'd revisit. Put a $100 hold on card during stay at check-in, not mentioned when booking online. Besides the staff being friendly and helpful, the Ocean front views and private beach area, that is the only things good about this place. The Hotel needs remodeled. The room was clean, but the bathroom didn't have a vent system, we had no working house phone, hair dryer didn't work, and the TV channels didn't sync with channel shown. Poorly maintained facilities, Pool was dirty and outdated, carpet on first floor worn and stained, ceiling tile throughout the facility with stains from previous leaks, furnishings old and damaged, walls have bubbling, signs of water damage, May have mold. Outdoor furniture dirty unclean. Trash cans are filthy and dirty. Only one elevator working, a lot of equipment tagged under repair. Sad to see a once luxury hotel, turned into a pitfall of decaying facilities. I hope the owner invest in remodeling and do a rewrite of the hotel policies. I truly wanted to like this place but the loud partying that goes on night after night outside of my premium room was the last straw for us. We can't leave our balcony door open to listen to the waves because of the competing tejano music and the clouds of a variety of drugs. It seemed like everything from weed to meth was being smoked outside our patio. When I brought this issue to the manager she said "there was nothing she could do for me and that I would have to call the cops myself". I informed her to "cancel the rest of my reservation as we will be leaving early and never coming back. This could have been an awesome trip. Maybe if they get new management in here that stops renting to kids or grows a spine and asks guests to be respectful we might come back. The pool water/hot tub we're constantly cloudy. There's a permanent sign that states that the beach water has excessive bacteria in it. Don't waste your money at this resort, it's not worth it. You won't get to enjoy your stay with all of this going on until 2 am. I'm really disappointed with #EmeraldBeachHotel as my 5 year old and us were kept awake night after night. Greetings to all. It's time to get back to the basics. This place needs to appreciate its patrons and history! Needless to say we were put in a handicap room! I was looking for a place to plug in my FAN (fan lovers -dap) and there was a extension cord plugged into an outlet that appeared so unsafe! Upon entering the hotel it had a stink about it that prompted me to leave. Maybe they should rethink their choice of flooring. For what they charge they should reinvest! As for the room the shower was faulty, the bathroom vent is broken and the LACK of counter space is pathetic. As I walked through the hotel it was evident that the necessary effort is lacking greatly. Oh yeah and that outside bar do you know it's cool and everything that is sitting on the beach but those margaritas they need a little more alcohol than they need to remeasure a rethink how much they measure to put it that alcohol. Nonetheless, the food was horrible. Yeah damn Burger didn't have no dressings on it. Calamari was decent. The wings were decent and all they had was ranch. Nonetheless, I had to buy an extra shot to give my margarita some life!!! There was straight up MOLD all over the walls of our room. I had to physically move the whole refrigerator and microwave just so the power cord could reach the outlet. The room smelled of mildew and just did not feel clean especially when there's mold just chilling on the walls. The beach right outside the hotel was very dirty and there was trash and litter everywhere on the beach, it made the beach area by the hotel smell very bad. Overnight stay. Arrived June 3rd and left on June 4th. I had not been there since 2012 when it was the Holiday Inn Express. That time I booked for three days and it was quite enjoyable. The hotel has changed owners. It needs a good renovation badly. The room was okay except when we took off our shoes and socks the floor seemed as if it had not been swept after the previous guests left. It was full of sand. I put my socks back on. By the way, they have digital tv and not cable. My daughter had to call the front desk so they could give her instructions on how to turn on the tv. SMH read more

The worst experience for me and my family, we were literally scammed, we reserved a room through booking here at the Emerald Beach Hotel, we paid $304.53, the room was full of mold, we asked for a refund and they said that if we did not want to lose our money we had to stay there. Curtis and Allysa, these managers and other staff and facilities leave a lot to be desired, they stink, from the lobby you can see the mold and feel the humidity. We called the front desk when no hot water was coming out of the shower and was told it was being repaired and should be up and running in the next 20 min. 1 hour later after midnight there still was just ice cold water from the shower. So we called the front desk again and was told it would he another hour. So we dealt with the ice cold shower, went to bed and figured we would have a nice hot shower in the am. We contacted the hotel and requested a refund for the night and were willing to keep our stay for the duration of our stay. Even a partial refund, we'll, they offered a 20% discount. We figured, ok, that will work for the first night as long as we have hot water in the morning. 9am, STILL NO HOT WATER!!! So we called front desk again, and we're told they were waiting for maintenance to come in, then called an hour later and was given a different story about the city needing to turn on the water. Well, we dealt with the cold showers again only to find my daughter had several bites on her arms and legs. Then my wife found a huge cluster of bites on her leg. We thoroughly check mattresses, lamps, headboards etc before we unpack our belongings to make sure there are no bedbugs. It appeared clean and without issue. So we let down our guard, yet still kept our luggage on table tops etc. We have experienced bed bugs prior when our son got his first apartment and know firsthand what bites look like. We had enough of this and packed our stuff up. We ended our stay early and went down to front desk. We explained to them what happened and had the bites to prove it. We have photos. The staff refused a refund and said they would honor the 20% off for the hot water for the first night. I asked for a complete refund due to the fact that we had no hot water and now my family woke up full of bed bug bites!! The staff didn't want to extend a refund. We le ft. While in the car my daughter told us that in the elevator ride down, another guest told her that they haven't had hot water for 3 days!!!! The reason for 4 stars, location location location! Now, this is an older hotel, run down a bit and very outdated! With that being said, what made this hotel for me stand out was the fact that it was so close to the Beach, right outside our window - and it is close to the downtown area as well as the Texas State Aquarium. The bar is relaxing - but very overpriced and the drinks are weak for sure - did I mention location! The beach is right there off the bar area and it is a very nice area of Corpus to spend on the beach. We were were during the 4th of July and was able to view the fireworks from the beach also which was nice. An added bonus for us was the fact we could have our little dog with us as this is a dog friendly hotel for only a $50 fee. The breakfast buffet priced at $8 a head was a joke though. They had eggs that did not look enjoyable or their hash browns. There was thin bacon that was definitely not high quality also. We did not even try this buffet but opted to go out somewhere else to eat. The staff is very friendly which was nice. Now, again - this place is run down and outdated but I know that with better care, this place has potential to be what it probably once was when newly built - amazing! Even with the upgrades needed that would make this hotel shine - I plan to stay here again on our next visit. We stayed one evening here. It was okay! I would not stay again though. Upon checkin, we dropped off our items to head to the beach. We noticed the duvet cover was dirty so we called to ask for our linens and cover to be changed. The rooms are outdated and not kept up well. The curtains were white so all the filth showed to include black mold that we noticed the morning that we were checking out. The fridge had months of ice packed in the little freezer compartment and it was absolutely nasty!!! The ac blew directly on the bed closest to the patio sliding door so my daughter covered her head while I slept with my back to the vent. The sliding door handle was broken. I read reviews before booking, several stated the hotel was old well so am I! I had previously had to cancel at the last minute the week before and the manager and staff were great accommodating that due to unforeseen health issues (not COVID). Stephanie and Tory made our new booking and check-in arrangements easy and convenient. Wanted a room on the beach with a view facing the gulf so booked the cabana room. The beds were soft and the shower head and water pressure and heat were great. Two important selling points for me, with the bonus of going to sleep and waking up to the sounds of the waves. Nice outside private area with table and chairs to eat at and have morning coffee and step right onto the beach. Only drawback was the party down the way that went on until 1 a.m. read more
