I must have visited Emerald City Smoothie about 30 times this entire year. My all-time favorite smoothie is the low-carb flax, which I typically enjoy in the strawberry flavor. I am aware that there are other flavors available, but I've heard that most of them either don't serve organic fruit or only offer a limited selection. They offer a wide variety of protein-based snacks, such as pretzels and potato chips, along with real protein potato chips derived from chicken. Oh, an energy drink like Celsius. The customer service is excellent and quick, and the workers are friendly. My only complaint is that smoothie prices have skyrocketed over the last couple of years, reaching up to $13. Emerald Smoothie is my perceived healthier option to Jamba Juice, because it looks like I'm also walking into a GNC store the way the inside is packed with supplements wall to wall. There are tons of options for everyone and it's quite intimidating to make up the mind. You can taste the fresh fruit in each smoothie, but what I received at my visit the was gritty and a bit icey as they were not blended as smooth. Nevertheless I'd still want to return to try out some other options. Don't forget to check in on Yelp to get free a supplement add on (although the employee was unaware that it existed). A couple weeks before my friend bought me a smoothie from Emerald City Smoothie in Bellevue and I loved it. It was the Nutty Banana and I thought the balance between peanut butter and banana was fabulous. I enjoyed it so much that when I was in Issaquah and saw this location I decided that this would be my dinner. I was so excited! Upon entering my friend and I were not greeted. The employee behind the counter glanced at us and continued doing whatever work she was doing. We looked around and then went to the register to order where another employee came from the back and took our order. While we had been the only ones in the first ten minutes a group of teenagers came in and it seemed like going from zero to eight customers in five minutes caused the employees to rush. At least that is what I assumed because what the employee handed me fifteen minutes after ordering was not the Nutty Banana nor could it classify as a smoothie. It was as thick as water and as flavorful as sand. It honestly tasted like skim milk with protein powder and nothing else. My friend's smoothie was not any better. We ended up tossing both of them because they were that terrible. Between the non-existent customer service and the terrible smoothie I can't see returning here. read more

After a hike some friend introduced me to this place. I've been to another location a long time ago in Gig Harbor, but never to this spot. Super legitimate smoothies with so many choice!! Legit healthy and super addictive. Three categories of smoothies, Nourish my body, boost my immunity, help me lose weight. Three sizes to chose from and empty cups showing you the sizes at the register. The young people that work here are always friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks. Helping to choose when I'm between two flavors. Loads of other healthy snacks, meat sticks for protein, post workout powders, and other beverages in the cold case. Super clean and fun store. It's become my post dentist must visit when I need a "meal" that doesn't require chewing. Or after a hike. Parking is tight as they share the lot with enterprise rental and a thrift store. I have had Emerald City Smoothie a few times when I have visited Issaquah. I have ordered the Acai bowls, green juice and smoothies. The protein shake with fat burner was really good as well as the green juice. I was quite disappointed in the acai bow though. Both times I have ordered, the "fresh fruit" on top was frozen and I was unable to eat it. They also only serve the acai bowls for delivery in a massive plastic container that could contain two bowls. The size is way too big and wasteful. If they offered various size bowls and gave fresh fruit, I would give this a 5 star. read more

Despite this Washington-based smoothie shop having quite a bit less options than Smoothie King, their smoothies are very good w/ healthy ingredients! I tried the PB&J smoothie and to be honest, it was one of the best smoothies I've tried throughout my vacations to Seattle as someone visiting from Texas! I really wanted a fruity smoothie, and this place came up in my yelp search. I thought it would be like a Jamba Juice, but it's actually like if Jamba Juice and a GNC vitamin store had a baby. The smoothie place has a retail section that sells protein bars and bottles of protein powders for weight loss or weight gain. The smoothie menu is huge and is divided up into sections like Nourish My Body, Help Me Lose Weight, Boost My Immune System, Bulk Me Up, and Go Green. Most of the smoothies contain whey protein. I wanted something fruity and sweet and I was leaning towards the Mango Mania in the Nourish My Body section (which I assume have lots of vitamin C), but then I saw a little sign on the counter for their Maui Paradise Smoothie, which has strawberries, mangos, pineapple, and passionfruit, plus protein powder. I ordered a 24oz size cup of that. I had to wait maybe five minutes for my smoothie, since a lady had ordered in front of me. When I walked into the store, only one girl was working at the front - I wasn't in a rush and the store wasn't packed with people, so it was fine, but then once the girl started making the other lady's smoothie, a guy popped out from the back and took my order and started making my smoothie. The smoothie was really good and refreshing and had a great flavor. Customer service was really friendly. I like that this chain is a Washington State/PNW thing too. This location in Issaquah is located in a shopping plaza with a QFC, and it's kind of tucked away next to an Enterprise car rental place. I'll be back to try more of their smoothies! read more

Alright, I will admit, I'm a little upset I've spent so much money here- I'll place 30% of the blame on the location as it's right next to the gym I frequent, and I'll place 70% of the blame on the employee who told me about the PB&J Protein Smoothie. Because, now I'm an addict. And yes, I am giving this place 5 stars based solely on the PB&J Smoothie, don't @me. So think back to when you were a youngin, right around elementary-middle school. Remember those glorious refrigerated Krustable PB&J Sandwiches?! Imagine that in a smoothie form. Still a little hesitant, so was I. Until one day, I decided to venture into the unknown and take the employee up on her recommendation. And now I practice restraint and give myself a pat on the back whenever I don't stop on the way home from the gym. There are three different drink sizes (16oz, 24oz, 32oz) and I usually get the 24oz so I feel like I'm getting my money's worth but also don't feel like I'm spending my 401k. With tax, the price comes out to $7.43 (yes, I know the exact amount). So a little steep, but a small price to pay to experience wonderful nostalgia. In general, I will say their protein smoothies including the PB&J taste a little sugary- but I generally try and ignore this. And the smoothies ain't cheap, but I try and ignore this too. The staff is always super friendly which is a plus! No pics here, bc I always finish the smoothie too fast. I enjoy coming here for my favorite smoothie, Slim N Fit, which includes banana, whey protein, flavor of choice and fat burner. And I wouldn't have known about it had it not been during my first visit at this location where the employee that day helped me figure out what to order. I used to visit the Emerald City Smoothie in Downtown Bellevue before it closed and I had normally always ordered the Low-Carb Smoothie, thinking it was ideal for my diet and lifestyle. So when I was about to order the same smoothie at the Issaquah location on my first visit she mentioned that the Low-Carb smoothie has much more protein than necessary if you haven't already worked out; therefore, it's recommended for a post-work out meal. It helped narrow my options, which was when I learned that the Slim N Fit was probably a better option as a meal replacement for someone who hadn't yet worked out, as it has the right amount of protein and a fat burner, to help increase metabolism. I wish I had gotten the name of the employee who helped me then, as I really enjoy learning about nutrition and health products, so am thankful for her help. Since then - when I'm looking for a smoothie to have before working out (or after), I now know what to order. I'm pleased that the staff here are knowledgeable about their products. Emerald City Smoothie is a great place for healthy smoothies. There are a ton of different flavor options, so just ask if you're looking for specific flavors as the staff here will be sure to recommend different specialty smoothies or are happy to customize one for you. I also like that they have unsweetened milk alternatives, and not just vanilla whey protein, but chocolate, too. In addition to healthy smoothies, there are acai bowls, protein powders, supplements and protein bars. I especially love that they carry an assortment of Quest bar flavors, which are my favorite! Favorite place to come by after a good workout or if I'm looking for something quick and filling. Yummm!! I love Emerald City Smoothie. While the prices are on the higher end, it is worth it. What I do is I order the large and split it with one other person.
