Customer service here is absolutely TERRIBLE. I don't know why I keep coming back thinking it will get better. I've been coming to this location for about 4 months a few times a week and with the rare excel of a couple of girls they are all rude and look totally put out to other jobs. I try to be friendly to see if they will get the hint but nope they barely acknowledge the customers. They also without fail never ask for your loyalty phone number and when I have to then tell them I have one 9/10 times they look annoyed. It's frustrating to come here and be treated like garbage AND spend a ridiculous amount of money on a smoothie. I will go down the road 5 miles to the one by Sunrise and get better service. The Lakewood location is also excellent, I was only coming here because it's convenient from my gym but never mind I will start spending my money at another franchise until this one improves its staff attitude. read more

I love coming to Emerald city smoothie. The one on Meridian is by far the worst I've been to.The two ladies that work there in the evening are so rude and constantly rushes you to order. If you don't tip, the person not making your orders makes eye contact with the person making the order. That's when your tip determines the type of customer service that you get. The smoothie was good but every single time I go in here by myself, I get the bare minimum service. The girls barely speak to me enough to ask what I want and give me my total. If ever I come in with my boyfriend, the service is way different and I've noticed this with other men too. I've literally always tipped because I know how it is to work in service but after multiple times of this happening, I'm just not ever going to go back. Even when I have tipped, the girls never say thank you and even look at it then walk away, so it's not like they haven't seen me tip them. I downloaded yelp just so I could leave a review. The girl behind the counter refused to hand me the order I was there to pick up, that was sitting completed, behind her at the pick up end of the counter, on the grounds that the policy is to prioritize "customers". I pointed at it, asked specifically if that was my order, she told me yes, but that I have to go stand in line because, again, she has to prioritize the customers. There was another girl behind the counter that also could have easily stepped in for the 2 seconds it would have taken to move the drinks 4 feet so I could just take them and leave, but did not. So, if you are a Doordash user that has already paid (with a markup), Emerald City Smoothie doesn't consider you a customer and will happily let your smoothies melt while your driver stands in line waiting for all the other customers whos drinks are not yet paid for and already made. The manager of this store must be an absolute tyrant to have these girls so afraid of loosing their jobs that they don't feel like they have the ability to make nuanced judgment calls on what should be a relatively flexible policy, when it is perfectly sensible to do so and the alternative is blatantly asanign and serves nobody. If that isn't the case, then I'm sorry to say it, these girls may be lacking in critical thinking skills because that was the dumbest BS I have ever dealt with in a retail space, and I have worked in customer service for over 10 years.
