Had Thanksgiving dinner here & will never come back. ordered the turkey dinner & a G-ale cost $34.45 + tip. Salad was great. Only got under cutting of turkey bottom, all dark meat & not much of it. It was tough & hard to cut let alone chew. the squash was too sweet, green beans hard as a rock & soupy, flavorless, grey creamed onions. The potatoes & stuffing were edible & if it hadn't been for them & the salad I wouldn't have had any dinner. I should have asked for a refund but, I'll just consider it an expensive lesson. This is my new favorite restaurant. We drove by it a bunch of times before we finally went in, and now I regret every drive past it! Wonderful atmosphere, large menu of amazing choices, the staff has been so very nice and helpful, and the food - oh, the food! We've ordered a few different dishes now, and every one has been just amazing. We've tried the roast chicken, the turkey, one of the fish dishes, all were excellent, with large portions and really good side dishes. Best butternut squash I've had in a long time. You could seriously stuff yourself eating the brown raisin bread that they bring you to start with. Save room for dessert, I recommend the bread pudding. read more

We went once before over the summer and it was a good experience, but after this time I am not sure if we will be going back. We called to make a reservation and were told it was about a 25 minute wait. We arrived right around 25 minute mark and told them we were here, but we proceeded to have to stay in there for another 20 minutes waiting for a table. When we were finally seated a waitress came over and asked us if we wanted drinks. She took one order at a time and kept running back and forth to get drinks. By the time we all had our drinks and were more than ready to order, she of course did not come back. She actually ended up taking the order of the table that was seated after us first and then finally came over to us to get our order. We asked what the specials were and just like when we came in the summer they were "sold out." I ordered the half chicken dinner and asked what the vegetables were - apparently all they had was Brussel sprouts or I could pay extra money for asparagus. It just seems like a restaurant should have more than one veggie option. She told me I could get a "Demi salad" so I got that as my veggie. We also ordered two cups of clam chowder and when they came the top of the soup was congealed, so that was not appetizing. We waited so long for our food (which really shouldn't have taken that long - 2 people had chicken and one had pasta) and three other tables around us got their meals before we did. I finally got my food and of course it was cold, but at that point it was almost 9 o'clock and we had been waiting so long so I wasn't going to send it back. We ate and of course the waitress didn't come back so we finally flagged her down and got the check - needless to say she didn't get a great tip and we probably won't be coming back. read more

This is the 4th year we have celebrated Valentines Day at this establishment and once again we were not disappointed.The food is always good but I have to say what made this year particularly special was the service by Elie.From the moment he greeted us he made us feel so at home and was very entertaining. Last night I was looking for a local spot to grab dinner with my boyfriend when we happened upon the Emerald Rose. The place is warm and inviting with frequent live music. We had the pleasure of a great waiter, Elie--the kind that is amazingly attentive yet never hovers. He was pleasant and funny and quick to address any request. I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant! I have been to the bar for drinks and apps-amazing spinich dip(it's different than other restaurants, and served with veggies, nacho chips AND baked pita's), nachos and buffalo tenders.. dinner in the dining room. where I almost ALWAYS get the steak tips. They are my absolute favorite, better than any place around here. The chicken pot pie and shephards pie are also great, and definitely unique! Down to the little shamrock in the crust!!! I also even brought my mother there for Easter this past year. We had reservations, they sat us right away, our server was awesome. We both got the prime rib, and although I love garlic, it was a little bit much for me and we both wished we went with the ham. Still, amazing food. The martinis there are great, and I have always had excellent service, in the bar and the dining area. Hopefully someday soon I will get in there to try the brunch! read more

We had a small reunion tonight of the ladies of RMHS class of 1972.....Had a wonderful time. The food is always great and the service is pretty good. The draft beer selection is good too, however there must be something wrong with their taps (maybe they do not clean them regularly or their CO2 is off) because the draft beer is always terrible. If the draft beer issue was resolved I would give them five stars! read more

I spent the week in Billerica for business and was told by the hotel to try the Emerald Rose. I had dinner the first night and had the chicken pot pie, turkey and rice soup and a cold beer. It was a fantastic meal. It was so good a co-worker and I went there again the final night and had another GREAT meal. We had dinner in Boston on two of the other nights, spent twice as much and the food didn't compare to the meal at the Emerald Rose. The food was fantastic but what made our evening so special was the great service we received from Leah. This gal was friendly, gave us great recommendations, and was a great ambassador for the New England community. read more

Best bar in town. Tons of beer selections from local brewers and others. The food is delicious and homemade. Nice Irish atmosphere with a big bar that you can always find a seat at. The staff is attentive, friendly, and know a lot about the beer they're serving. Well kept and clean inside and well kept landscaping that makes the neighborhood look better. The town should be happy to have a business like the Emerald Rose in Pinehurst, where other bars aren't very good. read more

Met ten others for dinner on Friday night, December 19th, had a wonderful meal. The waitress was overly attentive. We were all simultaneously, drinks refilled quickly, not one screw up. We had been to the Emerald Rose previously and enjoyed our meals, one of the reason we choose this establishment was they had a pretty significant Gluten Free menu, which two of us needed. We arrived and were seated promptly; of course that's because it was only about 30% full on a Thursday night at 6 PM; first clue this wasn't going to be a great experience. Appetizers arrived; Calamari was under coooked, poorly breaded and tough as rubber bands, My wife ordered gluten free Nachos and a small cesaer salad, both came at the same time? Salad was over dressed, Nachos were ok but unremarkable. Gluten free shrinp cocktail was poorly presented,; 3 shrimp on chopped lettuce with cocktail sauce just kind of poured on the plate; shrimp was a little over cooked/dry. I complained about the Calamaria, our server apologized, took it away, asked if I wanted something else and I said no. The Manager (I assume as he didn't introduce himself), came by to tell me he would take it off the bill, but neglected to ask if everything else was to our satisfaction. Then came the entrees two of us ordered NY Sirloin, one was cooked properly one not, but interesting that our server (Kendra) immediately asked us to cut into our steaks to make sure they were cooked properly, now that's confidence...guess that must be a routine issue. Steaks were ok, sides were terrible, my son's mashed potatoes must have been made and frozen then reheated as they were dry and tasteless, the steaks were ontop of some kind of sauce which was really terrible. My wife ordered the Salmon, with Lobster Risoto; salmon was over cooked and lacked any seasonings, risoto was terrible as well. At this point we didn't bother complaining additionally as it was a birthday celebration and didn't want to ruin the night with a tense interaction with server and manager, who by the way, once we made the intial complaint were basically out of sight and avoided us. Overall start to finish the experience was not up to par (especially for the $125 tab), service was lack luster (eye roll when asking for the Gluten Free menu), cook's standing at the pass watching people, twirling tongs, drinking out of quarter containers, very odd. Maybe they should spend some time learning to produce fresh quality meals as it appears everything that can be is made ahead and reheated. We felt like we were in an episode of "Hells Kitchen" (before Gordon fixed the place)! Will never return or recommend Very dissapointing will never return! read more

my wife and I went in to the pub this past Saturday night for the first time after seeing a sign for live music outside. it was about 1030 when we sat down and the bar was packed so we decided to sit at a table. it says to seat yourself but still took about 15 minutes for the server to approach our table with menus! at that point we had already ordered our drinks from the bar. if we weren't so hungry we would have left right then but my wife insisted we stay to try the Irish egg rolls (which we were both impressed with). when our server (Kieth) finally came over with menus he dropped them and hurried off. then when he returned he took our appetizer down and was gone in a flash. we didn't see him again until we had to flag him down for the bill!!! he didn't once come over to see if we wanted refills on our drinks or to check in on our food. we would have stayed for dessert but we were not impressed..... read more

Went for a birthday dinner with my husband and son tonight. The place was pretty quiet when we arrived around 5:00pm. Our waitress was pleasant but seemed very inexperienced. We ordered Taco's, and they were pretty good, nothing very special though. I had the turkey dinner and was disappointed. The meat was very dry and the turkey gravy tasted like it came out of a can. I had ordered that same meal at another local restaurant about a month ago and it was Delicious and was priced lower. My son had the fish and that was OK, although the fries were very well done. My husband ordered the steak tips cooked medium and had to send them back as they were well done. They sent out another order after my son and myself were pretty much done eating, and they were not much better. I tasted a piece and it was very chewy and some of the pieces were cut very thin and overcooked. We have only eaten there maybe 2-3 times since they opened, and now remember why we don't make it a habit to eat there. Sorry, but I won't be going back. read more

If I could put no stars I would. I took my wife last night 4/20/15 to Emerald Rose and we were very disappointed. The people sitting behind us were also disappointed in their meal. I ordered Linguini Bolognese and my wife ordered Salmon. My dinner was so small and the price was so big that was only the beginning. My wife's Salmon was undercooked and the risotto was plain no flavor. We have had some good meals there so we were very confused as to why the dinners came out so terrible. The waitress informed us that the main Chef was on vacation and boy you could tell. We also asked the waitress for some bread and she said that we are told not to offer the bread so you have to ask for it. We got the bread and it was probably the best bread in Billerica. I told the waitress it is crazy that you do not offer the bread because it's delicious. I cannot believe how this restaurant is run. This place could be such a good restaurant if they just paid attention to the details. That was our last time at the Emerald Rose. read more

Moved into the area about 15 years ago and had been going to the Emerald Rose about 2-3 times per month for a burger and drinks, and always found it to be pretty good and great service. Over the last 2 years things have changed. Service is slow (although wait staff was consistently attentive and excellent - seems to be problem with kitchen) and food was medicore at best. Tonight, after 15 yrs of being a loyal customer, went in for a quick burger and a drink. Sat at bar and placed drink order -- had familiar waitress who is always pleasant and excellent. Took about 20-30 minutes for her to come back for food order -- seemed short staffed. Placed food order and took at least 30 minutes before waitress came back and said "let me check on your order." Came out with my burger which was extremely cold. Mentioned this to my waitress, who was professional and apologetic. She said it had been sitting there but kitchen never buzzed her. She had them redo my order. However, my husband had received his food and was nearly done by the time my order came out again. As this has happened about several times over the last year, I asked to speak to a manager. He was extremely apologetic and offered to comp our food. When we were leaving, our waitress thank us and told us to have a nice night. As we were preparing to give her a large tip (that she deserved), another waitress threw a bill in front of us and told us "have a good night." I look at the bill and it wasn't ours. I mentioned this to her and she came back with our bill that included all of the food that was supposed to be complimentary. I mentioned this to her, and she huffed and rolled her eyes -- we have been coming there for over 15 years, have always left her generous tips even when food was so-so and service just okay, and she rolls her eyes!!! Last time I will go there. Just lost two good, loyal customers. Too bad -- once was a really good neighborhood pub. read more

10 high school friends met at The Emerald Rose tonight for the first time and it certainly won't be our last! We had been looking for a quiet restaurant where we could talk and hear each other and we found it! Elie has to be the funniest, most charming and accommodating waiter we've had anywhere! The diningroom has a touch of class with linen table cloths and a rose and baby's breath on each table. Several of us got baked haddock which was absolutely delicious. The person who got pan seared salmon with lobster risotto is looking forward to eating the other half for lunch tomorrow. A couple of friends got chicken with artichokes and spinach which they said was very good. Meatloaf dinner as well as Shepherd's Pie were also complimented by the diners. The bread basket is full of the most delicious raisin bread as well as crusty Italian bread with a slightly sweet whipped butter. Everyone was too full for dessert but the Emerald Rose has some very appealing sweet endings to the meal! We laughed so hard tonight. This was our 6th high school get together and the BEST one because of Elie and The Emerald Rose. We will definitely be back in March or April :) read more

Came back after a long time away. Nothing was wrong the first time, I just forgot about this Pub. A birthday special offer that came in the mail made me come back, and I am very glad it did. It was quiet on this Tuesday night and we had no problem finding seats at the bar. The Bartender took great care of us for drinks and dinner. Food was excellent. Fried Calamari appetizer was good but was just rings and cherry peppers, which the menu clearly said, but I would not mind some tentacles. We both got the sirloin and both were cooked to perfection and delicious. They are very accommodating with sides dishes and seemed to genuinely care if we thought everything was good. They have a great beer selection. I was needing another local place to go for a casual dinner and / or drinks. I am glad to have the Emerald Rose as an option again. The only change I would suggest is to dim the lights in the bar area a little. read more
