I had a very scary situation this morning with my dog. To make a long story short, he was bleeding excessively from his butt. From the moment I called, all the way through the check out process and having my dog handed back to me, was wonderful. Since we obviously couldn't go in due to the recent pandemic, it made me feel so much better having the vet call me throughout the process and explain to me what she was thinking in terms of possible issues and what her plan was to find the issue. We were given a very clear explanation on what the issue is and how we need to take care of it so that he recovers properly. The staff here was so friendly and reassuring. They showed my little guy so much love and I couldn't have asked for a better experience and more patient people during such a scary time. Thank you so much for your help, you're all amazing and we can't thank you enough.

Riley after staying at Emergency Vet Services of Lisle

I can't say enough nice things about Emergency Vet Services of Lisle!! Riley ate 40 Culturelle Probiotic & Multivitamins for kids. The first ingredient was Xylitol!!!! It kills animals. It goes immed to the liver, within minutes. Riley was extremely ill, required IVs, calls to poison control and the expertise of the doctors at Emergency Vet Services in Lisle. She stayed overnight and after tests, meds & IVs Riley is on the road to recovery!! Xylitol is very dangerous....Riley is one lucky dog and it looks as if her liver will repair the damage The only problem is that on regular days (M-S) they are closed from 8am til noon. We had to bring Riley home for 4 hours then back at noon. However, on holiday weekends they are open 24 hours. They have the kindest & compassionate doctors, vet techs and staff. They explain everything and answer all your questions!!!

At the recommendation of our regular vet, we brought our dog here when she had a seizure one evening. Our dog is very old, so we were really expecting the worst. Dr. Stephenson and staff treated us so well. From our initial phone call to our interactions at the clinic, everyone was sympathetic, professional, and reassuring. They have an on-site lab and we're able to have blood work results back in less than 15 minutes, allowing them to quickly make a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. By the time they were finished, our dog was almost back to her very old self. And by the next day, she was completely back to normal. We know our time is limited with this little one, but we really appreciated the calm, compassionate, sensible approach to getting her feeling well again.

Our dog partially tore her CCL last November so we scheduled a consult with Dr. Przywara. Right from the start we knew we were in great hands. He did his initial observation of our dog and then came to talk to my husband and I. He was so kind and reassuring, and he was INCREDIBLY thorough. He sat with us for over 45 minutes explaining the anatomy of a canine knee, the injury our dog had, the options to fix it, and answering any and all questions we had. He never pressured us into anything and helped to give us the information we needed to make the right decision. Although we tried a few nonsurgical therapeutic options first, we ultimately decided to do TPLO surgery in February in an effort to get our girl back to 100%. Dr. Przywara did a fantastic job. He and his whole surgical team kept us informed and gave very good and detailed instructions for recovery. They made a tough recovery so much easier. Our girl is now 9 weeks post TPLO and is almost back to 100%! At the end of our final recheck appointment when thanking Dr. Przywara for all of his work with us and Kona, he said "this is why I got into this profession - to help good dogs and good people." And THAT tells you everything you need to know - he's the exact kind of vet you want taking care of your dog!

Throughout her treatment, it appeared that their primary concern was collecting payment rather than providing the competent and compassionate care she desperately needed. As a result of their negligence, our beloved dog suffered unnecessarily and ultimately lost her life. We were forced to endure the devastating experience of watching her take her last breath, knowing that proper care and attention may have prevented this tragedy. The grief and heartbreak our family continues to experience are immeasurable, and we believe the hospital's failures directly contributed to the loss of a cherished member of our family. Based on our experience, we would strongly urge other pet owners to seek care elsewhere if they value their pet's life and well-being. No family should have to endure the pain of losing a beloved companion under circumstances that could have been avoided with appropriate medical attention and genuine concern for the animal's welfare. We share our experience in the hope that others will not suffer the same devastating loss.

I called ahead of time to check on pricing for the exam, etc., and one of the Vets answered and was so kind and patient while I explained what was going on. She reassured me they would walk me through a treatment plan we could handle after I brought her in. When I got there, I was met with the warmest, kind, helpful energy from every single person who worked there. From the person who did our intake, to the techs who did her initial vitals and administered her IV later on, (and cleaned up her mess on the way out - TY) to the Vet herself, I felt more than comfortable that they had my girls best interest in mind but were also realistic with what I could spend and how far we wanted to go with her care considering that she's 15.5 years old. After the vet examined her, I was sent a quote via email I could approve via my phone, and while I paid cash, they have an instant link you can pay for your services via credit card through email as well, which I found amazingly efficient and made what I was spending and what was included crystal clear so there was no anxiety about hidden costs. (I also found this place to be INCREDIBLY reasonable in their pricing compared to the other Vets I've gone to in the city). Special shoutout to the tech with the amazing mustache and the woman who administered her IV.... He was down on the floor, with my pup's head in his lap, petting her and saying the sweetest, most reassuring things while the other tech also just gave her such praise that we got some little exhausted tail wags out of her during what couldn't have been a comfortable process. It was just what we both needed in that moment, so thank you both so, so much. I was calm but pretty emotional, and I just felt safe coming here and would 100% come here again if needed, and recommend that anyone facing something like this with their fur baby come here too. The entire experience was quick, efficient, and again.... the kindness and genuine love they showed my baby was all I needed to know to feel comforted during a stressful moment. Happy to report the treatment she received has dramatically improved her condition in just a day, so overall it was a 10/10 experience.

The Critical Care Team is phenomenal, including Doctors Vietti, Montaque and Sharpe and their amazing group of nurses Barb, Jamie, Megan, Brittney, Brit and others. We brought our dog in while having significant respiratory distress. They tried to get him to breathe on his own by using High-Flow Oxygen, with no success, and had to put him on a Ventilator. Our dog was able to breathe in oxygen but was unable to exhale the carbon dioxide as it was getting trapped in his lungs. After numerous tests, they determined that he had Eosinophilic Bronchopneumopathy (EBP), a respiratory condition that was attacking his lungs, causing inflammation and an excessive amount of secretion build-up. Because of the inflammation, the secretion build-up was partly blocking his airwaves, preventing him from being able to expel the CO2, which is very toxic and dangerous. Although they were familiar with the EBP, they never saw an instance in which it impacted a causing the airways to get blocked. Long story short they did an amazing job identifying a very unique situation and saving our dog's life. They provided great care during the week our dog was at VSC and communicated very well throughout the process. Not many dogs make it off a ventilator once they are put on one; we were one of the lucky ones. I would never go anywhere else if my dog was critically ill.

By…read morethe time we arrived, he was already doing much better, but we didn't want to take any chances. We lived only 10 minutes away and didn't have time to research other options. Looking back, it felt like a money machine. They ran a bunch of tests, including some that our regular vet later said were absolutely unnecessary. After all that, they still couldn't tell us what was wrong. What they could do was recommend leaving him overnight on oxygen for around $2.5k per night. Ridiculous! Of course I said no because he was already much better. We left with a $1.7k bill and no diagnosis, only guesses. They also referred us to a specialist, where we spent another $1k on tests only to be told that our dog was fine. Fast forward to recently. My dog has colitis and occasionally has flare-ups. He developed diarrhea and, unlike previous episodes, stopped drinking water. Our regular vet got us in the next morning, but I was worried about dehydration overnight, so I called this clinic because it was late in the evening. I specifically asked whether they could evaluate him and give him fluids to help get him through the night until his appointment. I explained that he already has a known history of colitis and that we already had a plan with our regular vet. Women on the phone was very rude and basically told me that none of that mattered. I was told they require a standard list of diagnostic tests no matter what, and then the veterinarian could decide if even more tests were needed. When I asked if we could skip the full workup and just provide supportive treatment, I was told no, that's their policy. So instead I went to another emergency clinic in Buffalo Grove. They gave him fluids, got him hydrated, and sent us on our way to follow up with our regular vet the next day. No endless testing, no pressure, no trying to turn a straightforward situation into a several thousand dollar visit. Based on my experiences, this place seems far more interested in selling diagnostics than providing practical care. Stop giving your money to this clinic, they don't care about you or your pet, they only care about your money!
