Boquerones- white anchovies, olives, chili and goat cheese

For anyone looking for an upscale dining experience and break from regular restaurants, without driving into the city. I've been golfing at Lakeview GC for several years and overlooked Emilio's Steakhouse, as it's been more than a year since they've upgraded. Atmosphere is inviting and provides diners' privacy with views of the golf course . The menu provides an alternative from bar food and pleasantly surprised with complimentary sorbet before our entree. We ordered Boguerones (appetizer) with mild tasting anchovies . Our two mains, braised short ribs and pan-fried halibut were served piping hot and everything was cooked perfectly. Leave room for desserts cause they're pretty tasty, at least the key lime pie! We'll return and will check out their upcoming theme nights. Emilio's is a "diamond in the rough" ( pun intended ) and worth checking out

    Salmon and shrimp scampi

What an experience. Upscale environment but very laid back. I enjoyed myself and felt fine in jeans and a T-shirt. We went for the Valentine's Day special. Included a champagne or martini, amuse bouche, filet with lobster, salmon and scampi, flambé bananas foster. It was decently busy but we had friendly attentive service. All of the food was delicious. We started off with a classic Caesar salad and the amuse bouche that was a sausage meat ball filled mushroom with some red sauce. Delicious. Then a pallet cleanser of Italian sorbet with a champagne splash. Moved onto the main courses. Perfectly rate filet and tender sweet lobster. Fork tender salmon with perfectly cooked tender shrimp scampi. Finished with table side flambé rum bananas foster. We also had some great wine and a classic old fashion.

    Comfortable seating!

The place was maybe 1/3 full. We were seated. The greeter looked at us, turned and walked away, and came back and handed us over to the manager. Never welcomed us. The manager seated us and was polite. He usually greets people and is warm and welcoming. He and I have spoken on numerous occasions, and he is always nice. Once seated, we had at least 3 servers pass by us repeatedly. We were never greeted, never told "be right with you", never spoken to, never received water, or met a waiter. We waited and waited while tables came in, were seated, received water, and so on. I noticed the four people next to us received water and were never helped again. I only noticed because, like us, they were looking around. The place was full of staff. Setting for future tables, chatting, but... no service. We got up and left. Sadly, we will no longer make the drive. The food prep has been declining, and the service has gone from tolerable to ridiculous. We came to have a nice meal. We get treated way better at our local coney. If this was the first or second time I would never post. We refer people here frequently, but now I feel bad for recommending it. It is a lovely place, great menu and it is just not working. Response to comment below: Please note: We love the restaurant. Note the comments from others leaving fewer stars revolve around service. When a business has a hidden issue that may not show up "on the books", often there is a slow, silent client decline of the core customer base. I know it will hop during tourist season so maybe the owners do not care. But the care that went into the menu, the quality of the food products being purchased, and bringing a Detroit quality of food to Lexington leads me to believe they do, indeed, care. We called other places and every single one was packed within a 35 mile radius. One got us in and they said hello when we walked in. And the server was slammed but said "be with you shortly" We are not snobs. The manager walked by our table at least four times and several waitresses walked past, we looked, we raised our hands. It was like an SNL skit. We did not receive even an acknowledgment for the 20 minutes we sat there with servers passing by repeatedly. It has happened at other restaurants, and we get up and let someone know. In this case, so many people were right there, literally inches from us as we turned to flag. It was bizarre. So, thought I would try to get the attention of the owners. Keep in mind my post also said we had medicocre service several times prior. So I was raising a flag. I also mentioned there was a surplus of staff across the room chatting. No one was helping the servers, getting water, making sure the room was flowing. This will cause a bottleneck in the kitchen as well and delay table turnover on what should be a very busy night. So I am not just being a person who thinks I am too good. We could have flagged, eaten, and had the poor service continued as it had on at least 3 prior occasions, we would have just quietly chosen to head to the Detroit area in the future. Because if we plan a nice evening out, the overall experience is also taken into consideration. Look at my Yelps. I rarely comment and its always positive. If it were my restaurant, I would want to know. And when we called all the fine dining within an hour drive and you could hear how busy they were, I realized we may not be the only ones walking away. Because this restaurant was more than half empty. It is a great place. Blessings.

Unless you like spaghettios, the cheapest of "mozzella," and really tasteless meat. The crust, also not chewy and not as good as a hand tossed pizza should be, weirdly, my "Parmesan crust," tasted like it had sugar sprinkled in it. Could be the sauce was so sugary that it just seemed like it. I added garlic, pizza sauce and hot pepper flakes I like at home, and still threw it out. Not had a decent burger there either (they make the bartenders cook them frequently, and they're still paid less than their cooks are). I know it's a "local pub," but I wouldn't expect anything to be very good. One more note: literally the weirdest tasting dirty martini ever. Waiting to see if something was "off," but hoping it was just some nasty bitters or a spoiled olive, I ordered my fave vodka, so it wasn't that.

No one else seated in that area at that time. With entire floor empty, four of us were seated at the table at the back where all traffic to and from kitchen must pass. Not a problem, but by the time we had dinner with dessert, the entire area was filled with customers...subjecting us to the constant in/out business of the kitchen traffic. Clearly we were given the noisiest and worse table in a location where there was not a single occupied table. I didn't think we appeared that undesirable. The bill for our dinners with dessert came to almost $300...two of us had salmon with plum sauce, a dish we enjoyed and have had on prior visits. My complaint...1 person asked for extra plum sauce to take with her leftover salmon. She received a plastic container with approximately 3 ounces of sauce. The charge $3.00. I am not cheap, or I wouldn't be treating people to rib-eye steak or salmon that we enjoyed at a place like White Horse Inn. But...I do consider WHI to be cheap and willing to sacrifice losing a customer with that kind of service, or lack thereof. I know that you are popular, serve good food and I understand why that is true. No doubt you won't miss the four customers you have lost over the above issues.

Some of my favorites are the potato chip fish, the classic turkey dinner, and always the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies (to eat there or take home for later). While I haven't tried the igloos yet since I have an aversion to driving when it may snow, inside is always fun (while it's large, the vibe is cozy with tons of details), and outside is great in the late spring and summer for sure.
