I never write yelp reviews (especially bad ones) but we booked a mini session with Emily on April 5 and then we called her to introduced ourselves and to explain what we needed from the session. She didn't answer the call and hours later she sent a text saying she was busy with her kids. Even though, she never confirmed the session, we showed up and she actually took pictures of our family for about 20 minutes. 3 weeks later she sent a very long text apologizing and saying she had some family issues and that she would send the photos the next day. But now weeks later, she hasn't delivered the photos, and she hasn't responded to our calls, texts or emails. We waisted our money and time and we are very upset with this "photographer". We simply can't believe that someone would be so unprofessional. We haven't disputed the payment with our credit card because we want the photos, so Emily if you are also reading this, please reach out and let us know if you have the pictures. read more

We had our engagement pics in June 2024 and had a great experience. Last Fall, communication started becoming spotty with weeks with no response from her. But then everything was fine, calls made, poses lined up - we were set. Wedding was 5/10/25 and she did her 8 hours of shooting and got all the shots we wanted. We were gone on our honeymoon for a week and checked in with her, as we should have received them already - at least the sneak peeks. 7 weeks later, we have recieved nothing besides a couple of communications that she "had to move suddenly" and had her 2 small kids to take care and no help. Emily photographed our wedding reception on November 2022. At the reception itself, it seemed like our photos would turn out great. Looking back, we received little to no direction, so I was under the impression that, looked great. I was very wrong about this. She photographed from very unflattering angles (double chins, eyes closed, hand in awkward positions, etc) and even left those in the final edits. Many photos are crooked or distorted, are grainy, beer cans and dead plants within frame. Emily seemed very professional on the day of our event but our photos do not reflect that. They look very amateur and like she rushed through them due to being weeks past the deadline we were given. Thankfully there are a handful of good shots of the guests, but only 2 of my husband and I that we don't dislike. One thing I'm devastated about is that I have one photo with my mother, and she's not even looking at the camera, she was so disappointed when I told her that was the only photo of us. There was no rush, in fact we had plenty of time left before guests arrived to do any redos. Our contract stated that we would be delivered our full gallery of edited images within 1 week. I did think this was a rather quick turn around time, so I didn't follow up for a couple weeks. The deadline was 11/12/22, she confirmed by email that she would have our photos back no later than 11/22, ignored my emails before and after Thanksgiving holiday. Finally we received our photos on 12/3, no apology for the delay, partial refund, just her generic, "here's your photos it was an honor to photograph your special day" email. To say I was disappointed by our photos is a huge understatement. I felt deceived by what we received vs. what was shown in her portfolio. I debated writing this review because I feel partially responsible for not doing more research (even though her ratings on Yelp and different wedding websites were all 4 and 5 star reviews, which I now realize are mostly made by bot accounts, hell on Google she even used her own google account to write herself a glowing 5 star review). At the end of the day, we didn't get the pictures we wanted and we'll never be able to capture that special moment in our lives again. read more

For some reason, when it comes to scheduling holiday family photo shoots, I wait until mid-November to look for a photographer. Maybe it's the thrill of the chase or pure laziness? I did the Yelp quote thing and got multiple offers and quotes but good lord, I had no idea photography costs these days! I'm usually a believer in you get what you pay for but I'm sorry, I'm wasn't willing to pay $300 for a 1.5 hour photo shoot...in a pandemic no less! One quote stood out from the rest, honestly because it was one of the lowest numbers and mama like! I looked at Emily's work and thought, how can it be so low when the work is so great! Umm sign me up! It also helped that she still had availability considering it was so close to December. This was one of the cases where you get what you pay for meant the opposite - good ass work for a bargain! Emily was great to work with. When you work with a photographer, it's more than just point and shoot. You want them to direct you, tell you, how to position your body. Not all of us are Tyra Banks(ssss), although I was born to smize, or is it spelled smeyes? Emily did great in directing us and offering places to shoot with beautiful backgrounds. Here's the best part - The last time we had a photoshoot was with a different photographer, my daughter was 10 months old. She actually didn't fuss very much. My daughter is now 4 and Mommy made a big boo-boo in not packing any snacks as she is now able to voice her fussiness. She was so hungry in the beginning of the shoot which made for some surly shots. Emily so graciously offered her some blueberries and string cheese which perked my daughter right up and brought smiles out. The turnaround time was very fast. I was in desperately need of a photographer for a quite last minute planning for my daughters 15th birthday photo shoot that she so very much wanted to do with her friends.
